That's all we do is talk! Let's just talk last 5 years. Mike Brown was murdered on video Eric Garner on video an we talked about it an burn down are own neighborhoods. They increase the killings an slaughter of blacks on video. They murdered Alton sterling etc on video! we rioted an talked about it. While the white supremacy kicked there feet up. We have 100s of black being murdered by white hands everyday! Everyday! Wilder Voice. We haven't revolted went to war yet!! We are in fear as a race! This shit is sickening! They can murder all our people an keep us trapped in prison an enslaved an we haven't died about it an went to war yet? It don't get worse brother they spitting in are faces an murdering us in cold blood openly. The correct way to fix it would take 100s of million of dollars an we got it but it would take the Meek, Diddy the Jay Z of the world the Russle Simmons an Oprah's but we got it. We could have been fixed it. They would have to reconstruct are black communities get rehabilitations centers up. Programs on living correctly. Put Jobs security an education in every African American community. There 1 thing to that they are owned and fear to salvage there lives like are ancestors did for us. We Black people are scared to risk are lives. Put are money in black owned banks then see I bet white people finally say hey negros your not aloud to do that verbally. Then what War. We dont want to go to jail an die they enjoy this limited freedom enough to not have that urgency to go to war. It's the sad truth. Martin Luther King Malcom X etc all had to go to jail risk there comfort an have heart. All of are black people with money are openly cowards. Its Money Or War. Regardless it will get ugly before it gets good. If dont actually do anything. We are saying it is ok for the millions of blacks in the future to grow up being killed mistreated abused by the system trapped in ghettos an keep talking.

@@tyronebrown3837 As far as i'm concerned the Libyan slave trade is relatively old news, and from what I do know about it the majority of the slaves are migrants from other north african countries using libya as a means to get to europe across the Mediterranean and that the bulk of the slaves are young males and they aren't exactly black north africa is know for being a melting pot between indiginous african, europeans, and arabic peoples so it would make sense for and libya to have a large berber population. A thing to know about crime statistics and black people is that we make up 47% of all exoneration's in america and according to this study we are 50% more likely to be innocent than other convicted murderers, and cincinnati has a crime rate of 62% making it one of the highest in all of the U.S. possibly exacerbated by the other factors I stated earlier. I don't really have a political ideology the majority of the time i'm doing what I think will benefit the most people, BLM doesn't really advertise itself as a movement it lets the stories surrounding the topic speak for itself and I in this respect they do have a clearly stated agenda called and I quote "Black Lives Matter", and the only reason why I debate conservatives is because I used to be one I have experience with this ideology and I know how flawed it is, I know their propaganda and debate tactics, I know what to anticipate from them especially online so yeah. Yeah, ultimately, we're responsible for how we treat each other day to day BUT when you're forced or born into a toxic environment with little to no opportunities, you're forced to do whatEVER you have to do to SURVIVE. Even if that calls for violence. It's called "Self Preservation." So most of our conditions were set in place BY DESIGN, like Meek stated. Meek Mill has more insight and intellectual honesty into injustice than the interviewer. Meek could do the interviewer's job if he worked at it. The interviewer could never walk a mile in Meek's shoes. It's unfortunate that Meek was influenced not to have a conversation with the president of the United States. Racism / white supremacy must be met head-on in as many ways as possible. The best thing that Meek could have done was to have brought Black intellectuals who study these issues on a deep level in order to influence the president of the United States.

They think you all are lying criminal thugs who are crying victim, not taking responsibility, and making excuses. They are the same people that believe that Freddie Gray deserved to die because innocent men don't run from the police.

I don’t think that all white men and the government is conspiring against African Americans. If anything, I think it’s a subconscious bias that makes the judicial system harsher towards certain ethnic groups, primarily African Americans. However, you must also take into account that each case is different, and bad neighborhoods can force people into tough situations that result in crime. It isn’t only a subconscious bias; it’s an issue with the culture of our entire society, Black, white, Asian, Hispanic, etc. Some black neighborhoods are tough, no doubt about it. But consider the fact that this boosts crime for the entire neighborhood. The truly violent “thugs” push entire neighborhoods closer to crime. That is another reason for more African Americans in prison. The society they are stuck in pushes them to violence whether they like it or not. Our entire culture needs to change, not just white people.

Yo Unfortunately penalties/charges are more severe for African Americans who commit the same exact crimes as their white counterparts. And life inside of jails and prisons actually leave inmates with more trauma than when they went in. Unfortunately many human rights are devalued in the prison system. With all do respect check out the term “hyperincarnation” there are studies published by a sociologist by the name of Wacquant and other scholars. It takes part of your concept but ties it into race. If you can locate the more recent article written by a Georgetown Scholar I’m sure it will be worth your read. It will even answer your initial question about how prison is “slavery”. Also if you have Netflix’s check out the documentary 13. It’s about how the 13th Amendment has mutated into various forms of slavey since slavery.

    • @stacysg1
      @stacysg1 5 лет назад

It's a common occurrence for privately run prisons to have occupancy clauses in their contracts with the federal and state government. Often the minimum occupancy is as high as 90%. In places like Arizona I believe its more like 100%!
In a lot of contracts if the system doesn't provide prisoners, the contract requires that the prison be paid for that minimum occupancy anyway. It's a racket. Our criminal justice system most definitely is setting people up to fail.
Basically if you're black or poor, or worse yet, black and poor, you're their target demographic. Laws are crafted with certain individual in mind. If tax laws can be written to benefit the most wealthy, then certainly criminal laws can be worded to target any particular demographic that lawmaker wishes. Now, check out some of our Congress persons campaign contributions and you'll probably find hefty donations from those that run private prisons.
If you have money, you'll never do time for a marijuana offense.
Hell, sometimes if you're rich and white you'll do less time for rape than a person of color will for possession of a small amount of weed, that they never hurt anyone to obtain, nor hurt anyone while using.
We're so broken and it's horrific.

All part of the agenda, hip hop was a political artform and can also spiritually restore you when you have a shitty day coping with racism and white people pushed a materialistic, drug oriented sexualized agenda to take away all it's power and credibility.
An artist is supposed to speak the truth and give new perspectives on current issues and they never wanted hip hop to maintain that level of of power. Sure their was sex, drugs and materialism to an extent but it's literally the center piece of the genre when most Black adults care more about dealing with racism than popping a fuckin excedren.

Common sense? First thing he does within the first minute is complain that people on probation and parole are being watched. That's the point of probation and parole. All this finger pointing but never taking the blame yourself

I can relate to meek. I’m on probation for two years for actually saving two peoples lives. Well trying too. One passed twenty minutes later and the other got hit in the leg. I screamed for his friends to come back and not to leave him laying there. They noticed I was seeing the slime ball shit and he turned his truck around. We both carried him to the car he rushed him to the hospital and he died twenty minutes later. I went in the bar to see if someone else was hit. Someone I knew was hit in the leg, I rushed him to the hospital. Where they say I messed up is when I picked up a gun that was laying in the middle of the parking lot. Someone else could have died if I didn’t. Guess what I did, I gave the gun back. Not because I had too. They didn’t know what I picked up off the ground. It wasn’t even the weapon that killed the guy. It was the dead guys weapon. God rest his soul man. Anyhow, I haven’t been in trouble in over ten years and end up with 2 years probation and no one else was charged. Not that I wanted that, but think about it. I’m 38 years old, met a beautiful woman and we have 3 beautiful children. I haven’t been in trouble in over a decade and now I feel like I have to watch my every move. My only choose of drug is that green and now for two years I can’t even do that and to me its innocent. Smh this shit is killing me. I’ve done time up state a few times but I left that life behind for a stressful but loving ass family. If I smoke I know I’m going to jail before getting help. PO’s/Parole officers don’t even help anymore. They just watch 👀 and wait for you to fuck up!! I had to share that. My intentions were to possibly save a life. I wasn’t involved in that mess. Now I know to mind my business even if someone is dying! And that sounds harsh. But I learned to just separate myself from any type of crowds unless it’s work or family!

They should speak on so that we can see how many are being jammed up to take plea deals when they feel that they were innocent but too broke or otherwise encouraged by public defenders to "sit for a bit" instead of fighting for their freedom. This cycle has produced a population of unproven convicted felons with no rights and little opportunities on the outside. Prosecutors don't even have to work hard to prove guilt anymore because public defenders are helping innocent men plead out.

his twitter is back.. but facts.. Meek is doing his thing. Wow, I love how he is using his platform now a days. I'm from Philadelphia also and grew up in the same rough neighborhood and I remember getting beat by the cops instead of them just talking to me. When I moved from Philadelphia to Minnesota I got put in jail for the very first time for basically Knowing my rights. I stayed in Jail AND WHEN I WENT TO Court the next month they showed us to camera footages and so many parts was edited and cut and they even cut out the part where the cops choked me and slamed me to the ground. To make it worse the cops that did that to me did not even show up in court smh. I say all of this to say I appreciate what MEEK is doing and I respect it because people from where we both come from do not have the right platform to speak up for the voiceless and Meek is our voice on ths matter. thank you. btw please subscribe to me if you support MEEK

CNN legit only gave Meek an interview because Jay had that verse about a “red hat”
Something tells me that Jay denied the interview so they took meek.
They thought they were going to get something out of him but the man stayed focused and got his message out not theirs...
