That dance segment reminded me of the movie Billy Elliot about a 11 year old boy who loves ballet but is forced to be a boxer by his Dad. But when he finally stands up to Dad and shows how talented he is changes his Dad's opinion of dance so beautiful and touching.
The part of me that wants to overanalyze everthing absolutely loves the last few scenes. My interpretation is a little different though. Our protagonist, now highschool(?) Age, fit in and found a friend group. While they may be good friends, they make bad choices. Those choices being shown in the drinking and driving, and the inevitable crash. The protagonist getting out of the wreckage, seeing that figure dancing, getting up and breaking out in dance feels like that right there was the exact moment our protagonist had his wakeup call. Then he's remembering his childhood and saw his mother, realizing he messed up. Absolutely beautiful.
There is another message if you listen to the song. He had lines that Asian parents might say to their kids, eat out stay thin. He also had a fraught relationship with his parents. I'm guessing the red figure is a specific cultural reference.

I relate being the only Asian (Korean) student among all white school being bullied by all the students including so called friends and even teachers bullied me all the way thru middle and high school.

I hate this song when I’m driving. That jolt from the crash is very unnerving. Otherwise, tge song is beautiful and very moving just not while driving.
