This was a great era for BTCC. I remember racing this in Toca Touring Cars on the PS1 :) Did you see the Super Touring Power event at Brands Hatch this summer? It had many of these classic cars back on track. Should be running again in 2024 too.
I was eagerly expecting a video build of this kit, and you delivered a great one! Thank you! I'm a big fan of touring cars of this era, too, and this kit seems to be high quality. Your build looks beautiful.
Try a gloss black base coat it gives a nice shadow depth in the pannal lines AK interactive base black is the best for using under silver it's an armour thing we do but also build car's I done it on the volvo it looks amazing
It's just a model car. But it's way more than that for me. Your video represents memories of the happiest time of my life. 1996 = good job, beautiful wife, a BTCC-inspired A4 quattro parked on the drive - everything was perfect. But unexpected redundancy, consequent bankruptcy - and (worst of all) watching your girl slowly die of leukaemia are a bitch. Thankyou for doing this.
Nice job, I added this model to my wishlist as soon as I saw it. I think I mentioned it before but it was always a favourite on the TOCA game on Playstation when I was younger. I also like your facts about the car you always include at the top as well. Incidentally, someone who lives on a street near mine has an original Audi Quattro in lovely condition now, such a cool iconic car.
odd that they included a radiator with no engine/opening hood. great build and nice looking kit. nice to see a proper tire stance on this one thank you
Really cool build Thomas, I mentioned it before under Jun's Mini Garage's video but these kind of videos really motivate me to dig deeper and start recording my builds in video form, not just pictures and reels. Nice tip for removing the excess carrier film from the decals, I don't really understand why they print it like it, it's a lot harder to get them on when there is basically a transparent bubble that you need to tackle and smooth out. Keep up the good work, I 've been following your channel from the beginning and I have to admint that you improved a lot, and also the videos are nicer and nicer! Hey from Hungary :)
Thanks so much, I'm a big fan of your work on Instagram. I started RUclips as a way to share my ideas during the pandemic and it's a lot of work but I'm glad I've continued. Thanks as well - I feel like I've got better. The carrier film would have gone right over a door handle and it would have looked really bad.
Thats a rather insane amountnof carrier film on those logos. Nice build! You know my love of btcc so this is on my radar. Im not a huge fan of Tamiya's x11, or their xf16, i find them way too highly pigmented for any real useage
Superb Thomas. I have this kit to build, and I’m very much looking forward to it 😃👍
Thanks, Simon. It was a fun build and I bet you'll enjoy it.
Another outstanding model. Such an iconic touring car shape with these Audis. Thanks for sharing your hard work again with us
Thanks so much!
Fantastic work..
I have to show you my 1/18 scale die cast of that car.
Thanks very much! I bet 1/18 has a lot of detail

Yeah it does.
lovely video. love the "did you know" boxes
Thanks very much!
Fantastic job Thomas! Really nice kit. Looks amazing. Thanks for the review.
Thanks so much, Richard

I did see that went on and I was tempted. We went to an event at Brands in 2022 which was pretty good so I may look at that for next year. Cheers!
Love the STCC Cars rom the 90s! Great job with this one!
Thanks very much Daniel
Nice looking build. It seems to be well detailed, and looks outstanding when completed. Excellent work on this one. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Michael

Thanks so much, Gus. Same here and I was really excited to see that this one was being released.

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind for the next silver thing I paint
very detailed model, if engine then would be perfect
You're right, maybe there will be a resin engine added
Lovely build Thomas. I’m currently doing their Volvo S60. Lovely kits.
Thanks very much! How are you finding the Volvo? That one is on my Xmas list 🤞
Nice work Thomas, you did a great job on this Audi BTCC and nice video too. Well done.
Thanks so much, Karl. 🤜🤛

Wow, thank you for sharing. I'm very sorry for your loss but I'm glad this could help bring you back to a happier time.
Really nice work Thomas. Thoruoghly enjoyed the full build video.
Thanks for the kind words

Wow it's rare to see an original Quattro on the road now. Thanks for watching!
Looks awesome
Thanks very much Luke
Amazing work as always! Makes you wonder if Nunu will bring out anymore btcc cars, would love a Vectra or a Laguna in kit form.
Thank you very much! They plan to make some more BTCC champions - the Laguna and Vauxhall Cavalier are on their to do list I think.
Nicely done!!
Many thanks!
Nice Job and very helpful! Video is well done.
Much appreciated

Thanks Dean. I guess you can just about see the radiator through the mesh at the front so maybe that's why it's there
Which clearcoat did you used?
It was Tamiya LP-9
Where did you get the kit from, can’t find it, thanks
I bought it from amazon.jp and had it sent to me in the UK

do the tamiya paints just survive decal chemicals?? how long did you leave them to cure?
Yes, so long as they have been left at least a day. Often more depending on how many coats of paint I've applied.
@@BOABModels thanks for the quick reply, nice build btw

Thanks a lot, James. I recommend this one a lot. I think I'll get some other silver paint next time I'm doing a car like this.
Can't believe the decals aren't laser cut
Ben er op aan het wachten 3 maanden geleden besteld
I hope you get it soon
Have you seen the Volvo s40 btcc
Yes and it's on my Christmas list 🤞
