What a RIVALRY...Gino's cheesesteaks vs. Pat's cheesesteaks! I see why everyone we spoke to about Gino's vs. Pat's were so excited to tell us who had the best Philly cheesesteak in Philadelphia.
You know that we live for traveling and eating...but not necessarily in that order. So when we heard about the Philly cheesesteak rivalry between Pat's cheesesteaks and Gino's cheesesteaks, we knew we had to try them both! Obviously if you are here, you might have an inkling that Philadelphia is known for it's Philly cheesesteaks but did you know that Gino's and Pat's are literally across the street from one another. Hey guys! Whoo hoo Philly is my birthplace! Been to the "city of brotherly love" many times since too, watching our sports teams play, visiting Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Franklin Institute, Boathouse Row, BUT..I cannot chime in on the Pat's/Gino's rivalry, since I've yet to sink my teeth into either of their goods. I love steak sandwiches , have had some delicious ones at establishments in nearby South Jersey ( where I lived for several years ). Notice I said "steak sandwiches", because I'm not too fond of cheese LOL. (except mozzerella) Hehe Annette was getting a little feisty at the end there!

Jim's Steak is closed because of the fire but I typically go to Geno's since it's closer and has the perfect amount of onions and cheese for my appetite 😊. I know people have been saying "Geno's Is Terrible! Go to D'Allesandro's or John's Roast Pork Instead!" but if you want some cheesesteak that's not too over-the-board I'd pick Geno's although it is often busy.

Lmao. Both of these places are wack. The best cheesesteak spots are from the local pizza shops here. Philly natives cringe at people visiting Philly for pats or genos.
