In high school, my media arts teacher had us make a presentation of our favorite musical artist. I chose Gustavo because his music for The Last of Us is beautiful, and he also has some beautiful instrumentals outside of the game. My teacher said my presentation was his favorite because he could tell I was very passionate about it and put a lot of work into it. Seeing Gustavo as a playable guitarist is so neat, and reminded me of that moment.
Do you like ennio morricone? If you like the music of the last of us I feel like you’d also love ennio. Not only his legendary genre defining film soundtrack compositions but his works All over.
I would have loved if these 3 lost levels were included in the main game! I feel like they were necessary. The sewer scene and Joel's face are excellently spooky.

these are all pretty filler and dont really add anything important
im gonna admit that im glad none of those scenes were in the game, especially the sewer one. the scene with Joel’s face was just so random and would’ve been really weird if it were included. it belongs in a flashback, not in the middle of gameplay, and that is the only scene like that in the entire game.

I love how the first lost level has only text but I can perfectly imagine Ellie’s voice there saying all that. Ashley’s voice is just living rent free in my head 🙈

I love this game so much but there was one time when I was playing and I was eating a nacho Bell grande. I blew out the toilet like you wouldn't believe it was so intense. My stomach was bubbling. I was playing the game and I was ripping ass and if you know what I'm saying oh my God it was so satisfying
That would have been a better remaster if they had just finished of those last levels and then added it to the final game, like a "Director's full vision cut" as they didn't seem that drawn out but made the game seem more impact full.

Wouldn't make sense as you would have to re-string them into the game somehow so that the overall pacing/story makes sense.
What you're asking them to do would totally change the game's beat by beat storyline sequences.

The boar hunt was amazing, that's the one I wish they'd kept. It connects thematically with the narrative so well, it would also subtly introduce the idea of sparing Abby. I actually felt for the boar
They need to do a prequel with Joel and his brother showing what they did after the daughter was killed

It's great to see how much thought and care went into even the most minor details of the game.
exactly. everyone’s complaining or have something to say but this game was a very emotional experience for many people and i think naughty dog wants their fans to be happy and excited for new comings
That is why it’s an absolute masterpiece in video game crafting. People will say what they will about the story - but they are such incredibly made games.
Games like this bridge the gap between watching your favourite characters, and BEING your favourite characters:)

Honestly that scene with Joel was great. There should’ve been moments like that throughout the entire game not just the farm scene tbh. Would’ve really showed her shattering psyche more. Also in that initial trailer she’s talking to
Joel after he died. Would’ve been great if he was guiding her throughout even as a hallucination

I really like just having that single farmhouse moment. Everything is going relatively well, Ellie is living out what Dina said was her dream life or what she’d do if she had a million dollars and then we suddenly get hit with that ptsd scene in the barn. Hits so much harder since we hadn’t seen or heard much of Ellie’s ptsd before that.
@@devwvw I loved that scene but eh it felt out of nowhere. Also the ending of the game I’ll go down on the hill saying felt completely dumb. Abby should’ve been killed period.

The ending of the game is really up to the player i guess, i loved the game throughout. Abby should have died from Ellie’s perspective and Ellie should’ve died even more so from Abby’s perspective. My opinion of this game changed, I played it initially when it came out and didn’t like it just as you did, and then i played it a couple years later after all my emotions over Joel’s death died down and I didn’t have thousands of people on the internet yelling that the game was terrible in my ear. What it came down to for me was that I was thinking that Joel really would not want Ellie doing what she was and that Ellie gave up her potential happiness over her feelings about Joel’s death which Joel *certainly* wouldn’t want her to do.

I LOVE these unfinished sections. I have always been the type of person where if a project is unfinished, or maybe a show didn’t get its last season, I’ve always wanted the authors to tell us what their plan was. It’s so infuriating because I would be totally okay with just reading an unfinished script or, in this case, playing an unfinished level. I think this is so cool and I would love to see more stuff like this for all kinds of future or current projects, not just from Naughty Dog.
This! I wish it was normal for creators to be like “hey I/we didn’t get to finish this the way we wanted to. We were hoping to show this, by doing these things, which would drive that home and…” even if it was just a blurb, or even like
1)… 2)… 3)… type list of things they wanted to do, things they wanted to cover, explanations, etc

I would have started a ripping ass I would have started farting like you wouldn't believe like I would have just been blowing it out like oh my God I've been so crazy. It would have been the craziest moment I've ever experienced I would have been like oh my God what is going on here? Oh my God I would have been. I would have been going crazy if you know what I'm saying. Oh my God I'm starting to fart right now just thinking about it.
Now this franchise has more remake and remastered than main titles.
Seems it's hard for people to get past that and look at something else.

They will never make another part if it’s not a story worth telling. Different game studios compete. Just as an example, indie games don’t want to be releasing in the next month because Poppy Playtimes third installment will be everywhere and nobody will care about the other indie game.

if abby killed joel and ellie killed abby it would just be a shitty revenge story and you’d probably feel empty after playing, nothing would change. The way they did it was excellent and you get to come to terms with decisions and grief.
yea when abby gets pegged i cried, shit so beautiful, and when ellie got her finger choped 🍖🍖 it was peak moment, i also like that the game was 25 hours revenge bad, so original and the fact that ellie didnt get revenge and abby did it shows how fair the game is, revnege is bad but only if you dont have plot armor

I’m glad there is Dualsense feedback as well as a bespoke PS5 version. Going through TLOU1 and having the triggers fight against me was something I loved… then going to TLOU2 and it not was so disappointing! Going to do another play through of this one :)
For some reason, I never shot people in the leg. It was always head or chest. For reasons that I think I thought that a normal reaction of getting shot in the leg would do nothing but get me killed faster. Nice to know I was wrong.
I watch alot of other walkthroughers, but I mainly love Hollow because he usually keeps the Soundtrack on in games. I struggle to watch RadBrad lately because he insists on turning off the OST even when there isnt the risk of getting copyright. It robs so many emotional levels of their impact.
copyright attacks are not consistent so some people get hurt a lot more than others and therefore some people just need to be extra cautious while other youtubers can freely play without much trouble. Seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. Many channels i have seen for rdr2 always keep the songs in after guarma and heading for micah while another channel i saw completely cut them out. It is what it is.
The boar should’ve made it into the game. I knew about the segment forever but when I heard Joel screaming that caught me off guard. That would’ve been a powerful moment.

Can’t wait for the PC release because you just know modders will actually finish those lost levels with custom polish and animations and use AI to fill in the dialogue. They might mod them back into the main game too.
I also wish every game had this Valve style developer commentary.

I don’t know if you noticed, but the whole start of the Sewer lost level is in the game. However, when you get out of the water, that’s where it’s all new
OK, the hunt section was EXCELLENT. Storytelling wise, it sums up the entire Ellie's arc; how her rage and desire of revenge and action leads her to the root of her PTSD. How she cope with it destroying but in the end by doing this she destroy herself over and over.

If they made a director’s cut which includes never before seen scenes / gameplay, which would make the story longer. This would have been a no brainer for me.
I’m kinda bummed they didn’t make a finished level of Ellie on the island with the fire. There was a cut I guess just concept of her also being on the island. I think it was gonna be a pretty big level

That was the one thing I feel Naughty Dog didn't touch on enough (or at all really) was Ellie's trauma and PTSD after watching Joel die.
I think the The Hunt definitely should’ve been included, it shows how Ellie’s manic violence and PTSD has progressed, and in my opinion is a better representation of that than the farm ptsd scene and speaks more volume. I think they should’ve swapped those two scenes.

The story of this games is beyond bullshit. this is the first games that i have not finished the story more than once. What they did to Joel was crazy.
While I can’t say the second game is as perfect as the first (pacing wise for me primarily), it’s nice to see the thought process of the developers. I’ve learned to appreciate what the game tried to do despite certain narrative elements being unreasonable or handled poorly like Joel’s death in my opinion.
It will be 😂 remastered again for PS6 so on for PS7

The remaster bundled multiplayer, Ellies dlc and the game ran at 1080p with 60 fps. Part 2 as it is on the ps5 already looks great and runs at 60 fps. Theres nothing to enhance in the ps5 this is just a dlc drop you. You guys are the reason why we keep having remasters and remakes instead of new ips.

I think this game is a perfect game to remaster this game is still not outdated because it’s such a master piece.and all they are doing is catching this game up with the the level of graphics the consoles are at now. And throwing us a die hard fans a little extra to play with.

Jokes aside though, that was the best part of Source games. Very useful for upcoming game developers
I love the new content it gave us. But the least the culd do was finishing the lost levels in order to make it worth buying
Hold up, the throwing game at the festival where you get the chance to earn a collectible sounds cool. Not only a collectible, but one you can see later in the game? These lost levels are gold. Other than seeing Jackson in the beginning and scoping around, that level would have been amazing to see. Interacting with all of the townsfolk (other than the weird clicker tag) would have let us see more of how Jackson was. Plus, the little interactions with Tommy and Maria before proceeding forward looked important. Showing their affections towards each other through brief hugs with smiles on their face, letting us see how Ellie's gotten close with both Tommy and Maria. I can understand making the game shorter to include all of the more important levels and story, but that level really wouldn't have affected the game time I don't think.
With that sewer level, I believe PTSD is a tricky subject to not only talk about (depends person to person), but also not rubbing it in the player's face that Joel is gone. Because his death had such an emotional impact being placed at the start of the game. An agreeable reason to not include this level; however, it still would have been good to see how Ellie was handling her PTSD throughout the game. Despite the road to revenge she's on.
So far, the boar level seemed essential to me for Ellie's emotional placement towards the end of the game. It also shows how far away Ellie and Dina moved from Jackson and that they aren't completely in the middle of nowhere. The boar is also very symbolic as a reference to Abby (being built like an ox/boar).
I wish they had left at least the boar level and festival level in. They're good ones that I think contribute a little more to the game in a good way.
I think that’s cool more developers should include there cut content. I found the sewer section very cool and hearing the developers commentary and getting insight on why it was cut is pretty cool.

I feel like it likely wasn't Gustavo himself who claimed your mentioned video, but the company who licenses his music UMPG. Kind of like when MXR mods was made to stop using "Wanderer" by Dion DiMucci but it was actually the company that owns the rights to his music that just used his name.
To be honest I won’t waste money on this game it the same as the original but they add stuff they could of done it for free but they just what money they could of add like dlc
The boar squealing in pain while hearing Joel’s scream (due to Ellie’s trauma) reminds me of this Mutated Bear from this movie “Annihilation”. It’s actually disturbing that way.

Thanks for this video. It further enforces my correct choice in not spending £10 on this upgrade. The lost levels last all of what 30 mins at best? Then the "no return" mode that isn't even a multilayer option and will be played and forgotten within a week, arguably should have been free anyway. Essentially you're paying for faster load times again which could have been implemented with a free upgrade, some boring extra content and a wave based mode. Great 🤡
