jaw dropping ... excelent video and sound. ... that video & sound drop at 3:00 ... oh my . . . this is so underrated....superb, along Surgeon and Regis . . . . how many layers of dfam . . . . ? Srry for multiple replies, but you got me floored :-)
Mike _72 thanks a lot :-) well it is a way more complicated here than just layering. Some considerable DFAM sample chopping and placing (after recording different sequences). Manual structuring of tracks. Yesss that drop is my favourite:-) Thanks to Ableton effects, too.
Дфам в твоих руках - это просто космос. Твори дальше, не останавливайся. У тебя есть бэндкэмп или другая площадка, где можно купить этот или другие треки (желательно в ВАВ)?
Man, this is great work. I have a DFAM and I can tell this is far from easy to do such proper (and different) sounds with this excellent gear. Superb !
de La Ferte Malo thanks man :) yep, that is rather time consuming but if I got the idea, I can just dive in for lots of hours (or days:) My favourite approach is finding a groovy sequence, hitting rec and jamming with it for a while with different variations non-stop, then chopping and rearranging loops and one shots, and then crafting and overlaying with separate and more controlled sequences for beats and percussion and textures. A friend gave me a dreadbox erebus for a while, and now I am working on a techno track entirely from this dirty box only :) I’d call it a little dfam’s cousin :D It can make great techno kicks, too. Excited with this approach and thinking of creating the same out of minilogue later. (Please make me stop texting, too many lines now, sorry! :D Anyway glad you enjoyed it and welcome!)
@@EY-zz7xj Haha no problem for the long text, it's cool to understand how you work with this machine. Give me ideas ;) I have a Nyx from Dreadbox also. And I bought it to make techno as well because I think the combination of these two gear may be excellent. I'm still in the exploration process of thoses synths but maybe one day I'll drop some sounds on youtube too :)
SISTM Thanks! In fact no distortion on DFAM in this track :-) but I do have an mxr Bad Ass distortion and I am really happy with it when paired with the DFAM. (Though I only used big muff fuzz and boss bass overdrive before so not much to compare with). This is a jam with the dfam and the mxr (please mind the volume as the sounds are not really pleasant sometimes:-) soundcloud.com/eugene-yegorov/dfam-only-techno-jam-2-warning-some-harsh-sounds
Eugene Yegorov nooo way ;-) impressive since it sounds a little distorted. I also bought a mother-32 but not really as impressed with that compared with the randomness of the dfam. I will definitly follow you on soundcloud. Would be nice to swap some presets as well. Who knows. Cheers
Incredible. I've been trying to copy your track to learn my dfam with Ableton for FX, but I just can't get my kick to sound as thick and thumpy as you do! What magic are you doing 😂
Shogo Suzuki well, this was a kick which sample I cannot stop using EVERYWHERE since then :) Also, I always use ableton’s drum buses, kick eq-s and comps for kicks. As well as preset mastering (or auto mastering) in Ozone afterwards.
This track is fantastic. cheers. Did you record each part into ableton and assemble? The DFAM is the first synth to change the way I jam with synths. Great work, Subbed
Thx though just in case have to add this is an Ableton track heavily addited using only dfam loops (or sometimes one shots) + lots of Ableton affects. So not a live jam at all.
@@EY-zz7xj Thanks for managing my expectations. I think my general reaction still holds. This here seems pretty much live, no? ruclips.net/video/0qPLe1tcAvU/видео.html
@@FKeel1 that one really is. However, those gentle dfam hats are an overlayed sequence, jammed on top of the main part afterwards (+ocasional howling one shots/pads from dfam too, recorded separately using dfam’s trigger button.). Other than that - I would say about 95% of everything you’re hearing is a one take live indeed. Btw you always can check more details in each my vid’s description section. Thx for listening mate :) cheers. Btw also Ableton filter delay, and roland’s space echo emulation pedal (Boss).

wow, I want de DFAM, but i dont have cv gate to send clock sync in my little dawless set up :,,( Its sound really really good and with so much power. I am in love.
StotheEtotheB Neither of these:-) These are different parts recorded from the DFAM and then a lot of chopping in Ableton. Decided to go beyond 8 steps. This is where I use only DFAM 8 steps: m.ruclips.net/video/0qPLe1tcAvU/видео.html As for Mother vs DFAM as you can see I’ve got two DFAMs and no Mother so far. DFAM constraints are really inspiring and these machines are instant fun and experiments. Mother is great for melodic sequences. And is not so fat as DFAM. I am sure mother can make things somewhat similar to the DFAM results, and more, but DFAM sequencer is what Mother lacks (for me personally), despite its really versatile 32-step sequencer.
@@StotheEtotheB the mother 32 is classic mono synth with one oscillator nothing special, the dfam is unique and fun and it rocks (but does not have midi ), i choosed the second of course !
Brilliant. Is there any way to get a copy of this please as I really want to play it on my show? .... happy to pay. Take my money@!!!!!
awesome
Came back to this track, again and again and again and have to tell you, EY, how amazing good your work is - luv it!! 👍
Heh Never thought it would succeed :) welcome back again and again :) glad you love it!

how many dfams ?
Hey, thx. Its Ableton track made from dfam samples/loops only (+ Ableton FX). See descr.

very nice track !
Oh this is bloody lovely mate, good work. I'm getting one asap

Its sound really really good and with so much power. I am in love.
You Just Need a beatstep pro
Also, you could get a Behringer TD 3 for cheap as it has gate and CV built in
you can also clock it with an audio sample of a trigger pulse. you could probably even clock it with a rimshot or something like that.
If you're using midi you could also get a midi-2-cv converter.
this is really nice.
Thx!
didn't you have another video on a train?
