Imagine being one of these "diehard enthusiasts" that hates Novelkeys for trying to help people get into the hobby. At that point they are just elitist gatekeeping losers smh. I love this company for exactly what they stand for.
Lovely interview with Big Mike :) He was the first vendor in the community to also support my work, and just always pushed me along in a way where I'd feel comfortable and still feel like things were manageable. I love this series, but as a suggestion for future videos, could you include the actual question that you ask to the interviewees? It'd be great to see the actual question being asked next to the answer, so that viewers don't have to infer it solely from context. It'd deepen the listening experience imo. Great work, Nathan. Keep it up, and hope to see you again soon, friend
Such a great story. I've had family members look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them about the keyboard hobby. I'm sure we all have, right? When they ask "who on earth would want this". My response is usually "people who type all day, every day, for a living". Which is a true. But when you find out a farmer from West Virginia started one of the best companies, one of the pillars of the communities, it is proof that anyone can be bitten by the bug.
honestly, good for Mike. he's been such a great resource in the hobby for so long now. i still remember how excited i was to get my first switch tester from him, and it's great that he's still helping new people get into the hobby
My NK65 EE Watermelon is still my daily driver, love this board and NK_ has been an amazing supplier for when I need parts - Also excited to get my GMK Analog Dreams set. Can't wait to see how much further this company grows.
Super cool insight into a fun company and happy for Mike that it has worked out as well as it has, I always enjoy seeing people get to live out their dreams. I also never saw that panels video and lost it when the Harlequin Golf popped up, that was one of my first cars and I miss it everyday.
What a down to earth, humble guy. I’ve always had a great experience when ordering through NK, even if slight issues came up that weren’t even Mike’s fault(postal issues), he went out of his way to make it right. Also super good at getting back to your questions if you have any via the support feature on the site. Watching this just made me ready to order an 87ee. Just gotta decide on a color and place it tomorrow. Frosted clear, Blumen, or atomic purple…need opinions! Haha
Very insightful video! I love seeing the snippets of the behind the scenes at the company and it seriously inspires me to start my own LOL Hope to see more interview videos and warehouse tours! Also, absolutely can't wait for that typing game!
This was awesome and so are Novelkeys. My NK65 Entry was lost in the mail and they came through with a board for me not a month later. Customer for life
Awesome, awesome interview. Great insights from Mike, I absolutely love his stance on wanting the hobby to be accessible to anyone, and that he acknowledges the toxic elitists all over the hobby & Discord. Seems like a totally genuine, humble and cool guy.
As someone new to this hobby, NovelKeys is definitely a name I hear a lot but haven’t really touched yet (I’m still playing in the lowest budget range). I do see how very laid back and amazing of a guy Mike and his company is. Will probably try out some of their creations once I’m ready to plunge more money in this hobby.
We stan for Big Mike around here. I also throw my hat into the ring to offer to be a support member on NK's Discord should they ever decide to make one. Would like the challenge.
Nathan, just put my face over his for all these answers. They’re just the same as what I would say. 🙂
LOLLLLLL
Nope, we demand a tour as well. Including Heather because she's incredible with customer service!
would love to see a tour and interview for omnitype, as well.
Mike seems like such a solid dude. The culture of NovelKeys is placed really uniquely in the scene and I’m loving to see that.

thank you! and glad you feel that way after watching the video

edit: a Gorillaz themed KB would be dope AF
Mike is a real one. It genuinely feels like he is for us, which isn't common from someone in business.
Very insightful video! I love seeing the snippets of the behind the scenes at the company and it seriously inspires me to start my own LOL Hope to see more interview videos and warehouse tours! Also, absolutely can't wait for that typing game!

Just excellent, can’t wait to see what Novelkeys does next as a company and what you do next as a RUclips channel

This is so fun, it's like a kid has his own toy factory and makes money with his best friends. This is every man's dream.
I just love the fact that this company doesn't have discord, having discord makes 0 sense in terms of user experience. Thank you!
