Episode 46
Elsie (Pat Phoenix) is upset with Arthur (Robin Wentworth) for embarrassing Ivan (Ernst Walder). Concepta (Doreen Keogh) wears a new dress for the Blackpool picnic and Annie (Doris Speed) teases her about a proposal from Harry. The group, including Ena (Violet Carson), Minnie (Margot Bryant), Martha (Lynne Carol), and others head to Blackpool and enjoy the various attractions. Jean's (Renny Lister) parents show up at No.13 to apologize and invite her and Christine (Christine Hargreaves) on a day trip. Back in Blackpool Harry proposes to a delighted Concepta while the residents take tea at the Jubilee Café before returning home.

Realistic banter between the two characters. If it happened in today's Corrie, then one of them would be murdered after they threw scalding tea over each other during a blazing argument. The real Coronation Street died in the turn of the millennium.

I remember when i was a teenager i was out and suddenly felt really unwell - it passed after a bit but shortly thereafter my dad told me my uncle had at the very time i was ill - I didnt like him that much but i was named after him - I found it all a bit weird
