18:02 one of the most classic clashes ever in a soap....Ena vs Elsie......this scene, in my opinion, was never topped although Hilda had a few skirmishes in her time.
Aye, & I'll tell you another thing Elsie Tanner you're nowt, you slovenly drink wif' the men, don't you't drink in Snug. I've said ma piece! (hee hee jous't jokin')
Len “Aa, c’mon ladies, it was only a misunderstanding! Why not kiss and make friends? Well, make friends, anyway.” Was it shortly after that Len gave up trying to be peacemaker? 😂😂
Seconds out Round 2 booonnggg! Even tho we've missed eps & suddenly we're in a war zone 'who-what-where-why' after a few minutes it doesn't matter as it just goes on like this every week & it seems we've missed nowt in the vernacular!
Did Ena mention Minnie having concussion? That happened in a coach accident where the driver died and everyone else was injured, didn’t it? Is that episode missing?
The Dr. Crippen/Belle Elmore case stayed infamous in Britain for ages. The older generation like Mrs. Walker would certainly have remembered it making news all over the country.
Peter Adamson (Len Fairclough) was a very controversial character in real life who largely lived repeatedly shooting himself in both feet, losing his money, friends, and dignity. Hopefully he has learned many lessons in the spirit world and is by now well on the way towards his own salvation. I wish him well.
It's no more dangerous now than it was back in the early 60s, it was probably safer out in the street than in a mouldy damp house full of heavy smokers, people were encouraged back then to let children get as much fresh air as possible. It's difficult to understand from out modern safety obsessed World, don't get me wrong because many lives have been saved from the health and safety act, which was largely brought in after the Abefan disaster when all those small children were buried alive and died. But like I said things were different back then and suited the way we lived, houses were often cold and damp and full of smokers, Small kids played outside a lot more, on the whole it was safer even if there were some who ended up being kidnapped/ killed etc. The vast majority grew up fit, healthy and weren't obese or lazy, people didn't drive everywhere, they either walked or caught a bus, and socialised with people face to face and knew what was going on around them. I'll give you an example which is True, in 1961 my son was 18 months old and at a nursery school, I went to pick him up one afternoon when I was off on holiday and was told he was " out the back" I asked why and was told " because his screaming was keeping the other children awake during sleep time, so I went into the enclosed back yard to find him on his own playing, no staff there, I thought it a bit odd, but apparently it was normal, he wasn't that bothered by it, Today that may be looked upon as strange.
I left a baby carriage outside of shop back in the 60s and carried my baby with me , when I returned the carriage was gone. I wonder if baby was in carriage what the thief would have done.

Ena was a brilliant actor how she mocked Mr swindley
Thank you Auntie.....another classic! ❤️

High Noon in Coro St 1961.... legendary.
Love Ivan referring to “Linda’s mother” as “Elsie’s mother” by accident to Mr Walker.
Ty so much for uploading these 🎉great fan from nz here 💓
Ena knew she had gone too far with Elsie, she took no pleasure in breaking her.

Elsie was a stunner.

Frank Barlow turned into such a sweetheart
lol at the egg shells on the table.
The kerbs were painted, the road and the cobbles we're at the same level, only just noticed after all these years 😅
I notice they mention Dr. Crippen a lot on this show.

@@Miniver765 it would take a Manchester based doctor to make people forget Crippen..
And it took a long distanced lorry driver from Yorkshire to make people forget about that.
I remember this episode like it was yesterday between my rusks and hot milk...I was the princely sum of 22 months.

He died ages ago
I hope you have taken as much care with your own life, as you seem to have plenty to say about others!
Who did write the letter
I seem to remember this scene with Ena and Elsie.
Watch again with the subtitles turned on.
They are very amusing.
I know things were different in the 60's but no way would I leave a baby in a buggy outside unattended.

Yes I agree with all you've said. I was born in 1961 in Liverpool and my earliest memories are me and my brother always outside playing.
I left a baby carriage outside of shop back in the 60s and carried my baby with me , when I returned the carriage was gone. I wonder if baby was in carriage what the thief would have done.
Oh, give over and stop being so precious. I used to put my son out to sleep in the yard under the trees. Poor little you jumping at shadows.
Suppose bad things happened like now, but we never had so much news about it
Who did write this letter.. anyone know??
Clive Evans I did. I thought it were time people knew the truth about a certain Mrs Tanner.😂😂
Arnold Tanner's new woman, the one with the fur coat.
Clash of The Titans 😂😂😂
RIGHT!!!!!
never mind the letter who broke the plate ? , no end credits.

When ena and Elsie saw each other ye could cut the tension with a knife
I’m glad I’m on Elsie’s good side
… I hope! 🤓🤓🤓
The Tanner's never had a nice word for each other.
Who did write the letter.?..
Norah Dawson. coronationstreet.fandom.com/wiki/Norah_Tanner
Who wote the letter?
@@@vickyburns5692 Norah Dawson.
3:22 - 3:40 funny bit 🤣
I like the opening scene where they pass by the pram..neither steps "down" onto the street...heehee
donna harris It used to be just a flat path made to look like a kerb, but it was really flat for the safety of the actors.
And the mission just inches away on the other side.
hahah that was a goody!
2 days after I was born
10/10
Did anyone spot a legendary actor from Dad's Army?
