If you have a flat spotted drive wheel it is possible to grind the edges off the flat spot with intentional wheel slip , its not done very often but it does work at the cost of a lot of wear on everything else ..
Wheel slip happen one is where rails particulary in rain and Winter season. Too much rubbing the break block. G. R. Tripping. Any B. K. T problems. Other than may not happen. Because I may accompany the loco.
Right. Due to the heavy load, the front part of the locomotive is lifted slightly and therefore the front bogie wheels do not have a lot of weight on them resulting in a lot more slippage. When this happens to tractors the effect is more visible.

@@jarjarbinks3193 No, sorry, that's just not true. The extra weight in freight locomotives is to increase tractive effort (essentially, the maximum force the wheels can exert without slipping) -- it has nothing to do with stopping the locomotive lifting.
@@beeble2003 That is just your ignorance talking. WAG 9 is heavier than WAP 9 for this very purpose. Extra ballast is added to freight locomotives to improve their traction. Of course, the front bogie of a freight locomotive doesn't lift up like a tractor's front axle, but the front bogie wheels slip a lot more due to the fact that the locomotive weight shifts more to the rear bogie.

Its not normal.. they drivers r using their equipment without care. Spinning wheels can damage the rails and wheels pretty bad. & It can even grind the rail deep enough to weaken it .
Loss Of Friction between wheels and track due to rainwater etc ..! To avoid these , there is a sand box next above the wheels to gives Friction to the wheels of loco !
I hope someone help me, I will lose my mom I swear my mother wanted an operation that cost nearly 2,000 dollars And I didn’t have the money for your friend from Egypt
Fill it's sand box . Problem can be solved. If we fit a microprocessor in that locomotive we can detect wheel slip
Good idea

Wet rail reduces the adhesion and maybe presence of up gradient. New WDG 3a's are fitted with microprocessors.
traction control?
@@no22sill basically, newer ones even have more driven wheels, vande Bharat has 64 driven wheels.

Sand is the key here, clean, free flowing sand, not blocked pipes or damp sand in boxes on loco. Heaps of rail burn, not good.
