I love keeping commonplace journals. I have actually been using the most of my adult life and have gone back and found things that I wrote years ago and that come to fruition. Lots of fun to use these. I have one just for JJ stuff including everything from book sizes to tag and card sizes, favorite channels to watch, and ideas to try. I also have one that I have been using for years that is like a general commonplace with all kinds of thoughts, books to read, quotes, verses, and etc., etc.
It’s great and I’m thrilled that you’re taking time each day for you, Sue! In a busy life, it’s usually ourselves who we put to the side in order to have time for others or to do the multitude of tasks needing attention. Good on you for continuing the habit of journaling that is of great benefit to you! 😀💞
I love this idea Sue, I’m forever writing things down then have bits everywhere. I’ve only ever had one book on the go at a time with bits falling out. I will be doing this common place book, thank you for showing this. You are appreciated
I absolutely love this idea. I have so many bits of paper with quotes, Bible verses, affirmations, and things to remember, pieces torn from magazines and books, lists of ideas and projects I want to make, templates of different folds and pockets… it goes on and on. I love that you have different books depending on what it is you’re documenting, saving, wanting to remember. I am definitely going to begin my own Commonplace Book, and corral the scattered mess into various organized books. Thanks for the inspiration, Sue. Hugs from KY, USA.
I am not familiar with A Commonplace Book. But it is exactly what I need in my life right now. I really enjoyed and loved what you did in May and my goal is to begin this week (today 6/2) with my prompts and i am very interested in purchasing a clairfontaine grid journal if you can help me located one I would be so appreciative
Am not familiar with the common place book type journal and it’s interesting. I have kept a journal for 60 years now and have decided to try using a prompt format style as something new for me. Blessings from Betty in Ohio.
Pretty journal 📔. Thanks for sharing. Happy crafting on a budget. Happy everything on a budget. Be blessed, be safe, be positive. And be crafty. See you in the next video and on the flipside.
I located the clairfontaine A5 notebook on Amazon in the US! It only has lined and dots, no grid. But i think I will give the dots a try. Thank you so much for introducing this way of journaling, Sue. I hope you are well..I'm sending love to you and your beautiful fur baby, Roland
LOVE this...a "Commonplace Book" is perfect!! 💖 "50 million post-it-notes"...I sooo can relate!! 🤭🤦🏼♀️ Hoping Roland is feeling/doing better!!! 🙏🏻🐾😻🐾🙏🏻
I’ve never heard of a commonplace book but it sounds like a great idea. My favourite to use is a dot grid by Archer & Olive, they’re a bit expensive but they’re great. The pages are 160gsm, there’s no ghosting or bleeding through the pages & you can even use paint on them.
