Technology makes thing more simple, cellphones and social media allow another way to get together, and share valuable info, the access to all kinds of entertainment and news from independant sources, high definition video and sound. things are way better now, but there's still bad like price-gouging, wage-slavery, all our jobs being sold overseas or south of the border, or filled by illegal immigrants, workers' rights violations, a lot of the problems come from a lack of unions, no unions leads to no middle class, and the leaves the idol rich narcissists with their puppet government, and the rest of us, the struggling working class. That's why unions need to come back BIG TIME, and why there's a union movement right now growing. To take the power back and fight down the fascist bully-boy oligarchy.
Kurt, these CHIPS videos are so AWESOME! such a childhood memory that you bring back that are so amazing! And I totally dig the jerk T shirt in the style of the CJ’s skanker! You’re awesome.
Chips is my favorite show because of the scenery. Thank you so much for taking the time to find these spots, the before and after shots, the breakdown of the episode… it’s all just great man.
Thanks for making yet another brilliant video! I love your sarcastic comments about the parts that don't really make sense. lol I have the entire boxed set of CHiPs. I think I'll watch another episode tonight!
I can't tell you how much I was obsessed with CHiPS! I still watch it today. Thank you so much Kurt! You do an awesome job on all of your videos. Keep up the RAD work bro!
Awesome job Kurt. My favorite seasons were 1,2 and 3, when they could actually film on the unopened section of the 210 freeway, which was under construction at the time, so they were given permission to film on it. Looking forward to more CHiPs videos. Great job. 😊
I’m always super stoked to watch your filming locations. They’re very entertaining and take me back to my childhood during the early 80’s. You do an absolute great job.
as always very well done we enjoy each one of the chips videos. living in Newhall we would see them filming chips a lot . the funny part was to see them on a trailer being pulled and the bikes were just the frames. art/kimmy
Damn, I was such a CHiPs nerd when I was a kid. I remember watching TV with a buddy in the summer of 1977 when a promo came on for the new motorcycle highway patrol tv show called CHiPs. We were instantly hooked right there and then before it even started. I always liked the fact they would focus the episodes on the biggest trending fad of the moment. It was no joke that those mustang steering wheels would just come off at anytime for no apparent reason what-so-ever. I can't remember after Ponch saved the woman in the cliff-dangler car if it broke loose and exploded, but I'd put money it did. The Datsun 280Z seemed to be the super cool car to have back in those days. Please do more CHiPs filming locations, these are awesome!
Kurt dude. What a guy. Loved your SF valley vid in memoriam of your mother. It was really touching. Now you're straight back to the grind with another ChiPs video. Love your channel. Been a fan for years now. Wanted to send love and respect bro.
Dude! Your videos rock! I grew up in the Valley, but I've learned so much more about the Valley with your awesome videos! Please keep them coming! So awesome.
As a side note, at the 13:44 mark where Ponch is on top of the car attempting to rescue the woman (at the second bridge) you can see that the Montrose Search and Rescue Team is on hand with ropes and harnesses making sure everything goes smoothly. They have a 500 mile radius throughout the Angeles Forest and have been around for over 75 years now. Living in Norway now it’s great to see Big T (Tujunga) with its beautiful blue skies and surroundings both past and present. Great presentation of the classic “Chips” show. 👍
The CHP was pretty strict in the 80s. I got my first ticket doing 60 in a 55 mph zone. Today, you see people flying by you at 110 and no sign of the CHP. That department has gone to hell since Chips was cancelled:)
I really enjoy the CHiPs videos. You line up the shots perfectly and that makes it that much better to see how things have or haven’t changed since the late 70s. Thank you for sharing this with us and all of your hard work.
One of the few episodes where the characters are (soft of) doing things that CHP officers actually do. Watching CHiPs on NBC is a fond childhood memory. Love your channel and especially your filming location videos.
;😆😁 I appreciate what you do , finding the filming the locations. Growing up watching "CHIPS" , I've always been curious about the filming locations . I enjoy seeing you and your wife and son , giving some good acting humor .
Just wanted to say hi and that I really enjoy your videos. A true 80's kid here. I lived in Reseda for about 3 years around '81-'83 while my dad was called out there for work. We lived in a small apartment.
Thanks for covering this one. I lived in the Valencia area and it’s always neat to see what the area looked like back in the 70s. In fact magic mountain parkway at magic mountain gate looked exactly the way it did back in 1977 and in 2004. It wasn’t until around 2009 that they widened the road and eventually running through the back of the park for the new land development. I also think it’s neat that they briefly show the front of js coffee shop where sadly 4 real officers died in 1970. I I know this because i use to do ride alongs with CHP out of newhall. Anyway keep up the good work. I really look forward to seeing what other episodes were filmed in Santa Clarita
I just stumbled across this video. I loved the show as a kid and this brings back a lot of memories. It was cool to see the locations today. It's funny how they were all over that speeder and the drag racers. You nailed the ending with the freeze framing. Last, you sound just like Norm MacDonald. It made the video even better lol. Great video.
Some trivia....the "J's Coffee Shop" location discussed around 6:30....is the exact spot at which four CHP officers were shot and killed in April 1970. I'm sure it's not a coincidence that "CHIPS" chose to film at that location, although still a strange decision.
At 2:55 the films on the theater marquee are Sholay and Flames. Never heard of either of those films. I believe its Sholay which came out in 1975 after a quick Google search. Flames appears to be 1926 silent film. Very strange for those to be on a marquee together.
Cool to see the old Meralta Theater in Culver City. It was a crappy and sometimes dangerous theater, but it was OUR crappy and sometimes dangerous theater!
You and your crew are awesome! I enjoy your vids so much. Great memories. Please, do “Supercycle,” “Return of Super Cycle,” “Off-road,” and “CHP- BMX.”
I remember in 80s watching Chips and The Dukes of Hazzard around lunch time every day during the summer
Classics for sure ❤
Hahaha man such a great video, thank you for this one
Great research... like going back in time to my childhood. Life was simple back then. No cellphones, no social media, no Teslas!
Or Amazon trucks!
No prius

OMG you guys are hilarious! Love the family's contribution for the skit! Another killer CHIPs episode guys! 👻🔥
Haha. Thank you!
Yessssss. Finally. I am 52 and I still watch CHiPs everyday. If I can. Ahhaha. Thanks KC! Love all you vids man. Been watching for years. Peace!
52 here as well.
Enjoy the beach and roller skating episodes
Kurt, these CHIPS videos are so AWESOME! such a childhood memory that you bring back that are so amazing! And I totally dig the jerk T shirt in the style of the CJ’s skanker! You’re awesome.
Love the classic ending. Great stuff Kurt!
Nobody does these better than you! Thank you so much for doing them.
I like this episode. Very Nice end
Awesome vid!!! - More C.H.i.P's please!!! -Great scenery!/Good tunes!
Another awesome video
That was a lot of work for u ! I enjoyed it by Eating breakfast. I love LA • Best wishes from germany !
Chips is my favorite show because of the scenery. Thank you so much for taking the time to find these spots, the before and after shots, the breakdown of the episode… it’s all just great man.
The CHP Officer/ Supervisor at the truck scales is Actor Bruce Glover, Dad of Crispin Glover aka George Mc. Fly from Back To The Future.
He also played a bad guy on Adam-12 years earlier.
Haha no way.
Wonder if he was as weird as his son 😂
Time stamp please
Gerald McRaney is one of the bad guys on the bridge.
@@oliverbenis who's that
You have no idea how much I enjoy these chips videos. Thanks bro
Same!
Me too!!
Keeping the 80's alive ! I love this content!
It was 70s
@@Schultzy1992but most 80s kids like me watched replays of chips on syndication religiously
Gotta luv them 80's, they were a amazing decade!😮💯👍✌❤!
The 90s were better... Super Nintendo was better than Nintendo...

Wonderful and fun to watch content! brings back good old memories.
Thanks for making yet another brilliant video! I love your sarcastic comments about the parts that don't really make sense. lol I have the entire boxed set of CHiPs. I think I'll watch another episode tonight!
great video!
THE best filming location channel on YT. By a mile.
Cool intro☺
Last August I met Larry and Erick in Florida, It was like meeting Ponch and John, exact same personality in real life, Erick was so funny.
Yes. I’ve been waiting for a new chips episode video. Thanks Kurt these are great.
I can't tell you how much I was obsessed with CHiPS! I still watch it today. Thank you so much Kurt! You do an awesome job on all of your videos. Keep up the RAD work bro!

@@t-bone2650 Nice. 👍

your re-enactment of the steering wheel coming off was GOLD
Another fun one! Plus that ending was perfect!!
Thanks for doing this episode man, one of my favorites!
thanks for your work, love this, well done, the end was so funny
Thanks for sharing.
As kids my brother and I would always ride our bikes and pretend we were Ponch and John. We would watch CHiPs, every Saturday night!
Another fantastic episode, brotha. Don't know how you manage to track these locations down.
Awesome job! Love chips.

I just started watching CHiPs reruns on Charge network. Seasons 1 and 2 are quality TV
Yup. Season 1,2 a nd maybe 3 are the only seasons i watched.
SUBSCRIBED.....Because I love the 80's old SoCal scenery..
Nice stuff, Kurt. A great way to start the weekend.
Thanks for another great video. Glad I’m not the only one that still revisits the good old days through CHiPs

Very cool - I live up in the 210 / Tujunga area, all looks so familiar. Loved the ending to the Video , so CHiPs classic!
Always loved CHiPs and will always watch it if I can catch an episode
Another great CHiPs episode. BTW, that is a Sunbeam Tiger in the 1st chase scene, somewhat rare.
Memories! Worked at the Log Jammer, and also at the Carousel. They are two of the original attractions at Magic Mountain.
Nice Video as always, thanks for the hard work u guys do.

Loved this series growing up! Could you do the filming locations for Emergency! ?
EXCELLENT JOB!
You should come to a Chips Reunion! Great work!
You should filmed more videos like these, I love watching the filming locations of chips
Stoked you picked up the shirt. I had tagged you on IG about it. Fright Rags Rules!
This was the first episode I ever saw of chips when I was a kid. My friends told me about this new show and how cool it was.
That was a lot of fun! On a different note, have you considered doing a video on the fun 1986 film Modern Girls?
Great video!
Great detective work
Thanks man huge fan from new Zealand 👍
HA HA I love your narration !
We are going to Los Angeles in April. Looking forward to seeing it! 😊
All of the semi trucks are sick
Wow! All of these exact locations really show the studios
The other CHIPs officer @5:40 is Bruce Glover who played Mr. Wint in Diamonds are Forever
Hey...Major Dad was one of the truck criminals. lol
Loved the Log Jammer ride when my kids were young. We still use the term “Log Jammer” for certain situations!
