    Hi ....
    I am new to DSLR photography ... So please excuse if my question is stupid . My doubt is ... If we use the more frames per second and try to keep on taking many snaps , we can get more shapes right ? I mean rather than clicking just one snap , if we click many , we can experiment more snaps . And we can choose from them . What you say ? Cause I tried this experiment with just water and water dropping and splashing and got nice outputs , but i used the 5 fps available

  • @LearnMyShot

    probably because these lights are older then you. But generally most strobes have a cooling fan.

    Is there a reason for the very short focal length vs. moving the camera back and using a slightly longer lens?

    I tried this with two studio strobes with no luck What is the ratio of water mixed with the glycerine? Also tried the one with the droplets from above both without flash and with flash even with F/32 and the images are soft as even with pre focusing on the spot where the drop falls. The shutter for non flash was 1000th with f/6.7 and with flash 160th. I would imagine that 160th is far to slow for something moving so fast but even though this is should the flash freeze it? Thanks

    Soooo ... There are so meant things wrong with this tutorial it's not even funny . First of all using spedotron to freeze motion is like street racing in a old bug . He should just use something like a cheap speed lite at 1/4 power . What's that you say ? Not enough power in a speed lite ... Well yeah not when you are shooting at f25. For all of you out there YOU SHOULD NEVER SHOOT ABOVE F16!!! Not unless you are shooting Schneider lenses on an 8x10 camera which we both know you are not. M

    1/300 is insufficient for these shots. Splashes and drops above the surface usually need 1/2000-1/5000, but considering these are below surface shots in which the water slows the motion, maybe 1/1000 will work. The blur is quite noticeable even at youtube resolution. Still, got some good ideas from the video, thanks.

    • @wendybarrantes710
      @wendybarrantes710 8 лет назад +1

      it depends on the camera and the maximum shutter sync speed. Most DSLR, when using flash, need like 1/250 before a black space show in the picture

    • @chazM6116
      @chazM6116 7 лет назад

      Using flash your shutter has no bearing as the effective shutter speed is the flask duration, BUT I can't see how he can shoot with a speed faster than his sync speed,

    • @djtoman6875
      @djtoman6875 6 лет назад

      In this case shutter speed is largely irrelevant, and it is flash duration that determines the length of the exposure.

  • @robin2531610
    @robin2531610 12 лет назад

    3.45 look likes .... LOL all boys know ...

  • @justinoff1
    @justinoff1 11 лет назад

    And I'm not sure what he's talking about with his shutter speed . All slr cameras sync at 250th and below . You need a leaf in the lens to sync at 320 and even then it doesn't matter cause your flash duration is stopping the motion not the shutter. The Internet is great but this is garbage...

    Dude you really need to learn how to light...you're forgetting to cut the light hitting the internal edges of the glass tank. The refraction through the water is clipping the edges of the every image of the swirls. However if that's what you're after...or blind to, then good for you. Peace
