Got lucky and found a 2022 S60 Black edition Recharge R-design with B&W speakers two weeks ago, it’s fully loaded…best car ever! Besides the little things that you have to get used too, this car is seriously from the future, the stance, power and torque is insane. Like with any car you have learn what it can and cannot do, have fun when your arrives, mine just dropped out of the sky, Santa Monica Volvo took care of me and I got it for $1500 under MSRP! 😎

The late 22’ and 23’ dropped the supercharger with the addition of the larger battery and motor. So it’s “just” a turbo 4 cyl on these new T8s.

It may not have as much advanced tech and numbers, but it just looks better. The MPG is incredible, and the comfort is outstanding. I can't wait for it to come in! @L G I did! I've had it a few months now. I really love it. It has some quirks, but its been such a great drive. The infotainment system sometimes doesn't boot up, and it's weird when that happens. But the motor runs great, and the electric power is fantastic! I get gas about once a month, if even that. It's quick, and it's so easy to drive. There isn't much storage, so be prepared for that. There's trunk space, but that's about it! So far, it's been a blast to own! Can't wait for you to get yours! I got the denim blue plus model with the blond interior and it's beautiful!

The Volvo S60 is one handsome sedan. The overall proportions look like, "That 70's Car", old school with a long hood and short rear deck. I'm guessing that a shorter hood would free up more space for rear seat passengers and give the S60 a more contemporary profile. Would love to see this Volvo in a darker color to show off the exterior design details. My Volvo wishmobile would be the V60 Recharge. Volvo wagons are a favorite of mine. If there's every going to be a full electric wagon it would probably be in the Polestar family. Great review, Miles.

I think this is an excellent review. I just think if you want a really sharp S60 but with some expense to ride comfort, get the S60 Polestar with Ohlins dampers. It'll cost a good amount more but it is sharper in terms of handling and as a sports sedan. This is a touring sedan that is really a kind of BEV with gas backup plus moderate performance.

Thanks for not being so agreeable like most of the other reviewers. You successfully responded the exact questions that I wanted to know about this updated model. I test drove the 2020 v60 and I was not too pleased about the lack of feedback in the brakes. Before this I had the 2017 XC90t8. Your review reminded me that the transmission issue has still not been resolved. Back then I bought the optional steering wheel with paddle shifters. Just as you say. It practically served no purpose because the car kept shifting early. I also dread the part that you said that there's no traction control override.

IMHO, the T6 is the sweet spot in the lineup. It trades that notoriously troublesome electric supercharger for a regular 2L turbo and traditional hybrid setup to the tune of about 315hp, with the same level of luxury for a fair bit less money. Volvo used to have the E-supercharger on the T6 in a non-hybrid setup and it was a warranty queen.
