I always feel like constantly, more especially when you are in a third world country and people are just happy by how things are. That runs me crazy. Aye. I blame it on my dad. He told me when I was a little girl that mathematicians are lazy. They always take the fastest route which also requires the least energy. And I took that as a model for myself :D
I am constantly trying to find a way to accomplish 2 or 3 goals with one action. When you reach this level of efficiency, not only is it effortless, but it becomes exponentially harder to fail as even if 1 or 2 goals fail the last one will still succeed.

This is related perhaps, but the thing I (an INTJ) hate most of all is someone using their authority to make me do something for my work that I KNOW is stupid, and despite my logical arguments to the contrary. The fact that I had felt some ownership over the work and am forced to relinquish control in that way makes it incredibly infuriating. The only way I've been able to survive this type of experience (which has happened all too many times) is emotional detachment from the work, and reveling in very, very dark humor.

Totally agree as well. For some things, I've decided that I (also an INTJ) will either make a solution, or put a logical argument forward. If rejected, I simply decide to not interfere and watch their plan crumble (it's kind of brutal, but it gets the lesson across too). This has happened with people in authority over me, and sometimes still does to this day. (As arrogant as it sounds...) Sometimes, people just need to learn the hard way an see the consequences of their actions.
My method for dealing with this issue is to look my supervisor (who can fire me with a word) in the eyes and say, "how badly do you want to fail?" That usually works. Of course, I'm also polite to my supervisors most of the time so when I do something like this they pay attention. A little bit of politeness goes a loooong way for INTJs.
@@jacobwiren8142 Yes. Usually I am very cool, collected and fairly easygoing at work, so when I get forceful, people listen. Once I had to made a veiled threat to quit if something wasn’t changed, and the change was made immediately. It definitely pays to choose battles wisely.
I actually appreciate aspects of authoritarian collectivism because it seems to be a good system to govern most people (and at the same time realizing that I am not like most people)
My brother is an INTJ and he just hates everything 😂😂😂, the fact that he's the only Thinker in the house makes him suffer a lot , but what he hates the most is when me (INFP) and my ESFP and ESFJ siblings start playing around and screaming , it drives him crazy

For my entire life people always told me "to live in the now" "be present" while I always seemed to have one foot in the past and one foot in the future. Took a long time to just accept that and tell people who wanted me to live in the now "No".
I find being “present” once in a while can do wonders to recharge the batteries (energy management being of vital importance). Where we decide to be present is key, though, like being present for a meal, or for the sunrise. Refusing to be present *anywhere* in our lives is more a defense mechanism that developed over time and often causes destructive results, rather than being a well-reasoned preference. The concept of energy is so true. As an INTJ, I am constantly weighing if my efforts to improve X is worth the energy. So much so that I pick people to talk to with the important topics which normally fall into ideology, philosophy, future of humanity. The main issue I face as an INTJ is intellectual loneliness. I literally feel like a ghost in society. I can’t express my thoughts without some sort of cultural backlash so what’s the point.
Oh how much I wish to jisy talk about ideology, philosoph, future of humanity, how things could be better, and how my boss is incompetent as fuck. But man, the only thing people want to talk about is the last one. I enjoy it but I want deeper conversations with people, not that it’s important to talk about those things.

My mother is INTJ and I'm ENTP. I'm so critical and open minded that my mother enjoy to talk with me about anything because I can give her new perspectives. I also like to talk with her because she always have an interesting point of view about everything and she is clever and organized.

I feel like intjs try to find a purpose in an assignment and try to fulfill the purpose with a more efficient method. This got me into trouble in school sometimes, but I understand better than doing something actively. I just dont want to do things like there are done, I do things when they benefit me. If it doesn't make sense, it's not Done. easy as that.

I've been through my whole life feeling like an outcast, but not in the traditional sense. Always had friends in different groups of people. But not a single one of them could understand me. Hell, neither did i understand myself completely until i found out i'm an INTJ recently, after taking some tests. I've never even realized there was such a thing. And since finding this channel, it's scary seeing someone describe my experiences so accurately, to the point of even using the same words and sentences the i use in my own head for years. But at the same time is such a relief, finally realizing i'm not the only very specific type of "weirdo" lmao! And having someone explaining things and validating things about myself that i learned through much mental pain and frustration and other things that finally "clicked" about my personality. Yes!. Efficiency and planning ahead often give the impression of laziness. One summer, I worked as an assistant stage manager at a theatre company. Over the course of being trained to take over running 'Lend Me a Tenor', I followed around the experienced ASM for a few nights, taking notes as we went along. She seemed stressed as she rushed around backstage preparing this and that, hurrying back and forth behind the set multiple times in the dark. Several times, we passed actors poised to re-enter their scenes, making them nervous. On the surface, the ASM appeared to be working hard to ensure the show ran smoothly, but I instantly saw the flaws in her approach. When I took over, my aim was to be the calm, unseen hand behind the scenes. I optimized the positioning of every prop and every movement I made backstage. I was there to facilitate the show and avoid distracting or interfering with the actors. After I had everything rearranged, I actually had long periods of time to read between cues. It surprised the actors at first, but they came to trust me and appreciate the changes. One night an actor came to me in a panic with mere seconds to re-enter a scene, but I calmly pulled out an invisible bandage and handed it to him. Doing the mental work of optimizing effort upfront and preparing for every eventuality saves time and energy in the long run as well as improving performance. The only downside of this approach is that it is rarely recognized or appreciated by those around us because, on the surface, it looks like you're doing next to nothing. It makes it tough to compete against less-competent employees who seem to be working harder, but aren't working smarter. Only an INTJ boss can fully appreciate and value our unique skills.
The two things I hate most both come from my time in the air force. 1, "Blanket Punishments": if you're unfamiliar with the term, it's when an entire group is punished for the mistake of a single (or maybe 2 - 3) people. That's right; you can follow the rules and do your job perfectly...but you're going to get punished just like that one lazy, incompetent jack-ass that barely puts any effort in. 2, "Mandatory Fun": Events, paid for by the military, where everyone not on duty is required to attend (even if you just got off a 12-hour night shift). To their credit, they actually do put some work into choosing things that people might actually enjoy. As an INTJ, however, I was conspicuously the least happy person at the event in question-every time. Forced socialization, with a lot of people I don't really like, during my limited free time? Hell. No. Honestly, the military is a REALLY rough place for INTJs. Conformity, uniformity, obeying authority without question, doing things that don't make any sense...ah, memories.
There is nothing I hate more than blanket punishments. Why should I be punished for someone else’s laziness/mistakes? It’s also lazy on the part of management because they know it’s easier to punish everyone than confront the source. I also used to try to save up my PTO at work for mandatory fun days lol. They make me so angry because I feel like my time is being stolen from me.
I'm a young man who's in the AF right now. Yup mass punishments are the worst. Never saw the point of it. It never fixes the root cause but is rather an easy temporary way to alleviate the problem but never truly fixes it. Mandatory fun is also bullshit as well. Found it a waste of time and it felt so unnatural. Having fun should be authentic and out of your own will not because of some dedicated day.
'Do as I say...' , 'because I said so' and 'because it's been always done this way...' makes my blood boil when coming from anyone. If the same comes from the mouth of a superior figure (e.g. someone of a higher hierarchy at the work place) who happens to be incompetent at the same time, there is only one way - out. And no regrets. I may forgive stupidity, though I will never accept wiliful ignorance . And as for delibarate abuse of one's power - I will stand against.

Being an individual that has limited energy and at the same time a perfectionist. Completing numerous tasks (or goals) is very exhausting, I find myself spending too much of my time and energy trying to “perfect” what I’m doing.
Dead on! And I have to say, what I think bothers me more than incompetent individuals is when everyone goes along with a flawed system. Something related to solving problems far down the line and the future-focus for me is, I know what I do and don't want to experience in the future. I want to prevent problems at work, for example, because I really, REALLY don't want to experience what's coming if it goes wrong. As one INTJ You-Tuber explained, we can vividly imagine and pre-live a future experience many times, over and over, before it's even happened, the way some people re-live past bad experiences. Like our own personal premonition hell. It's bad enough in my head; I don't want to ACTUALLY experience the real deal. Like having to deal with irate people on the phone or things breaking down because nobody took a negative possibility seriously. I'll go out of my way to prevent it so I don't have to deal with it. I don't mind if someone doesn't want to go along with my prevention plans as long as they're willing to take responsibility for all the crap that follows and let me off the hook 🙂
It's not the INTJ way to hate what we don't understand -- but rather it's the things we do understand but can do nothing about, for whatever the stupid reason, that we wind up hating. Great video. That thumbnail is definitely how I sit when I hate things.
I (an INTJ) relate so much to this! I've found that I can't stand big corporate companies now (currently being in one), and I'm just sick of internal politics, and other nonsense involved. In other areas (sometimes politics now as well), it's just come to the point of, "This is a waste of time and energy, now it's just a needless distraction." In the end for me, I've found I like smaller companies and I want to end up running my own business, mainly because I can't find anything out there in terms of career that completely satisfies my vision, goals, etc.
I kind of hate when people that i don't know pretty well say "dude, you're like an emotionless robot/monster" I'm like "the fact that i'm not interested on showing you the inner me doesn't mean that i don't have one, i just don't want it to stay on my way"

I need an intj in my life! As a very lazy non lazy infp, I get so caught up in my head sometimes, that I unvoluntarily just waste a lot of time with the smallest of things. Having an easy to follow escape plan, could come in very handy sometimes!

Noooo, Ti and Fi are the analytical functions, but Ti most so in the connotative, logical sense. Overthinking, analysis paralysis, etc., are not common inclinations. INTJs dominant Ni is a perceptive function; auxiliary Te organizational/referential. Only with tertiary Fi fixation does it get strong, and that focuses to a narrower, deeper analysis of the subject and certain meanings, not everything.
@@xkenny-personalitydatabase5604 I (INTP) agree with your points, but does this necessarily dispute OP's claim that INTJs "need to analyze everything"? Although an INTJ's only explicitly analytical function is Fi, INTJs still rely on analysis in order to store and categorize information as "objective fact" instead of just an experience. Te will take an experience and make a rational judgement about it, or analyze it, in order to understand the structure of it / "big picture". So, although INTJs may analyze things less, that (to my understanding) does not necessarily mean that an INTJ analyzes less things than an INTP or ENTP does. INTJs may spend less time pondering over each individual piece of information, but the way they store information means that they still analyze everything that they perceive. Keep in mind that this is coming from an INTP. This is all based on my understanding of the functions and function stacks; I don't have the personal experience necessary to know exactly what it's like to be in an INTJs head. Just throwing some thoughts out there.
Its not always easy though. I noticed in the workplace that people see my advantages of being naturally efficient and driven, and that sometimes comes with jealousy and distrust from those people. Especially gossip heavy work environments are a nightmare for me as an INTJ as I will, a lot of times, be painted as the bad guy. But it's just on the basis of perception, not on the actual truth of taken moral actions. In fact, I would say that my moral integrity is actually comfortably above average. Certainly above the people who systematically engage in gossip and baseless judging of other people.
Needle in a haystack. Is it important to keep the hay intact? I would burn down the haystack and zift through the ashes with a strong magnet. With a shovle and a filter if I have to.
This whole conspiracy theorist thing has never rang true for me -- I research everything to find the most truth I can from reputable sources. I'm skeptical, if anything. Seems like a stereotype that keeps being said in the MBTI world.
Agree I don't get it either but maybe, sometimes, there is a feeling that the universe is conspiring to make things happen, if that makes sense? I always connect dots even sometimes when they shouldn't.
The moment you add trust issues to the equation, it suddenly makes sense--the moment you become suspicious of any and all sources, removing any actual possibility of verification, then the pursuit of the truth has to fall into the realm of deduction and intuition. This makes it extremely easy to stumble places that are probably nonsense, since you no longer have trustworthy facts to ground yourself in. Add to this the INTJ's objective-oriented nature, and suddenly you're using all of your time and resources to find an answer or fix a problem that may not even exist, because it's become your primary objective thanks to good-old NE screaming in terror of a potential threat.
@@monero_bully2412 I don't think you understand how science works. In science, you have to lay out your evidence openly for anyone to scrutinize. Even if all reputable sources went corrupt overnight for some reason, they would still only be able to suppress certain science. They would have no means of forging false science because readers around the world would notice the lack of evidence / false evidence.

Rand is an ISxP. She's a strong Ji dom; her Se comes first and her Ni lacks complexity (deep fixation blind to Ne). Both Ti and Fi are analytical functions which can be confused with "reason," which she clearly prefers in her writing. I haven't read enough to differentiate. How she trusts and defends the senses is highly unlikely for a sensing inferior. Also, projecting her own moral philosophy onto others and thinking it objective is the most improbable conclusion for Fe blind INTJs. Funnily, I'm leaning ISFP, which is also Dave Powers likely type, and they both insist on misusing language in labeling their system of belief the indirect implication of "objective," instead of using a more dry, technical term. This shows a rudimentary value of Te. Mervyn Peake is an INTJ author. It is easy to like books of other types, reguardless.
I'm INTJ. Throughout my 57 years of life, I have developed a deep feeling that if you want to get something done right, you have to do it yourself. I am a thinker, a schemer, and a part of me wishes that I could be king of the universe, but the better part of me knows that God is the only one suited for that job. As I age, and wizen with each passing day, I understand more and more just how little I really know about anything. I do know this, however. God gave us life and individuality so that we could live free. Free to make our own decisions in life, whether they be for good or bad. Free to experience the outcomes that arise from the actions that we take, based on our decisions with the opportunity to better ourselves because of this. I beg of you all to be ever vigilant against people who would take a political office of power over you, promising security to you in exchange for some of your freedom. These are people that you must beware of because their ultimate goal is to enslave you. These people are the deceivers. They will accuse their political opponents of high crimes while, they themselves, are truly the ones who are criminal. I could never, as a child, ever have believed that our world would come to what has become now.

And... *I DO ALL OF IT ALONE.* I loathe excuses, so I avoid ppl whenever possible... Just _Leave Me Alone_ & "let me do my thing" & we're good. I am done & gone before anyone realizes it, & my fone is tagged w/Thank You(s) all the time... I don't have time to waste...💜 Edit: subscribed, but... Most pack excuses... I pack SOLUTIONS. "Lazy" becomes evident if you're paying attention to the efficiency quotients.... VIVIDLY MISSING in the ones who pack excuses. You are bullseye in tapping past experiences pulled forward to address current & future scenarios: I was fascinated w/engines, specifically HP & Torque, when a child... by 12, I could listen to an engine & tell you what was wrong- to this day, mechanics are afraid of me... I don't know how you know INTJs so well but the things you listed are all pretty much the source of my frustration. & the efficiency/conserving energy thing is definitely number 1 on my list too. My family calls me lazy because I hate to do chores, but really I just like to do things that require more brain power & conserve my energy than doing chores which will immediately drain my energy lol. Also, I once worked under someone whom I found really incompetent & I really really really hated it. I'm not greedy for power, I prefer to stand on the side & manage things without the responsibility of a leader (so I still can have my freedom), but if that means incompetent ppl are going to be leaders then ....
As an INTJ, I’ve spent hours upon hours working with my psychologist about how to deal with the incompetence of others. I’m really bad at dealing with those people. When a pharmacist accidentally gave me the wrong medication, I lectured her about how her incompetence was so severe that she could kill people. Had I taken the medication she gave me, I would most likely have ended up hospitalized. I didn’t stop until she was crying, and even then I was on the phone with the corporate office telling them to replace her with someone who could read. Like I said, I don’t deal well with incompetence.

Hey Mr. Nathan! I remember talking with an ENTP and INTP yesterday in the discord server about work smarter not harder, where I rephrased it in my way that you work smart and hard. Where once you achieve that level of smart work, you double your efforts for more success, to achieve your endgame. Utilizing what you have learned to your benefit and it is really good to see it being discussed here.
I find watching your INTJ videos a comfort and a sense of camaraderie. I listen at 2x speed when I have an unavoidable time delay. I like your quotes. Edison went about things in the dumbest ways: a broken clock, correct twice a day. Poor Tesla. (One of my kids pointed out that a broken clock is not necessarily ever correct on the time 😂).
You can find a needle in a haystack by using the wind or a leaf blower, since the iron in the needle is denser than the hay it should stay whilst the hay gets blown away in the same way panning for gold works

Oh god! You've literally understood the INTJ at a deep level. Your understanding and analysis is commendable. I'm curious to know what really drives your curiosity, since INTJs aren't typically on other people's mental radar that often (or so I assume...)
If i was to rank the things i hate as an intj it’s probably plans being ruined and energy being wasted tied for first maybe having energy being wasted as number two and number 3 has to be incompetent fools so the final list would be 1-plans being ruined 2-energy being wasted 3-incompetent idiots But their all the same thing as incompetent fools ruin my plans thus the energy on those plans is wasted making me extra pissed
That was so true about INTJs being aware of their finite amount of energy. I am so aware of this and get annoyed at the thought of wasting my time without the return I see as worth it.
INTJ-T here. Totally agree with number 2: Incompetence. And whenever I complain about these things people think, I am a negative, toxic person! Truth is, most people are afraid to see the truth and afraid to change it rather than suffer. What a waste of energy. And I also got the term "Lazy" stamp on me sometimes, while in the long term, my achievement is a lot more than the average person's.
Somehow this sounds like a completely accurate description of my way of thinking. From the planning ahead to save time later, to hating greater powers that hinder my plans, to thinking in long periods of time, instead of short term.

"Work smarter, not harder." is pretty much my mantra. The quicker you get something done, the more time you have to either get other things done or to have more personal time to do whatever. Hmm, so I don't recall filling out anything for youtube with my personality type. (Although, I'm sure google is well-aware with all the information they compile.) I'd venture to guess your analytics are based off the numbers associated with the subject matter of the videos? lol. In any case, this INTJ is already subscribed, but I don't need to hit the notification bell for this channel. (That's more for channels I hardly pay attention to for one reason or another.)
Indeed. You know how corporations have unending training on improving efficiency, just repackaged in different decades? Six sigma, LEAN, continuous improvement, etc all intended to train staff to identify and iron out inefficiencies. Every time I’m like, this is literally how i live my entire life, and consequences how I already work. It’s so annoying that there’s no recognition that some of us already have this as a natural default. I mainly use the training to learn what jargon i need to use to explain to others what I’m already doing so I guess one benefit is that these things train *other people* to understand why I do things the way I do.

As an ENTJ, I related with a lot of these. I feel like INTJs and ENTJs(having the same functions) are two sides of the same coin- ENTJ is the top side-basking in the limelight, while INTJs are the shadow side of the coin, hiding from the same.The only difference is that ENTJs are fundamentally unafraid to draw attention towards themselves, while I have seen my INTJ friends literally DIE and crumble when people try and announce something about them in public.
That sounds quite true to me (INTJ/INFJ). In a very limited way, I'm the other way around though. For example, I like playing basketball by myself, and will play somebody else if they ask, most likely, but as I play alone a great deal, I also actually sort of thrive on somebody watching me play it, because it helps my concentration. It's not that I can't concentrate alone, it's just easier when somebody is there. I know I used to actually hate it when somebody would be watching, and it would make me nervous, but nowadays, with a more polished game, it can really help with the concentration, which is key. Playing alone can get awfully boring, especially when you're having a bad day and can't just seem to find the focus to make the difference. I have always had a fear of speaking in public, say on a stage, as well, but these days I imagine I could actually pull it off with a bit of practice. If we had the net when I was young, I probably never could had wrote much of anything just due to not wanting to stick out at all. Problem is, as I've found, not wanting to stick out, makes you stick out often enough, at least among the extroverts, so you're probably better off not being quite so much that way. There's a fine line somewhere where you can achieve not sticking out in it's most efficient way, but going out of your way to not stick out, isn't that precise place. It would seem having something of a chameleon adaptive ability to the people you're around would be in order, and, of course, INTJs aren't two-faced. Yes, I recall as a youth, that was one of the things I did regularly, adapting my mode of operation to the people I was around, and it really is a sign of an immature lack of knowledge of one's self - and yes, I had no idea what I was.
It's the Ni. It collapses experiences down to its essence to be used for maximum efficiency. It's just that, usually INTJs and INFJs have different goals and they interact differently with the world. Both still look for the essence in things
The gleaning a lesson from the past and subsequently projecting it to the the future sound more of an istj thing. Chaos know of no boundary of time. Reasonable though that this video is an intp’s take on it!
Maybe this explains why I score insanely high on SI in most cognitive function tests. I have a habit of going back and forth between past and future often. Even after an immediate action.

I am constantly trying to find a way to accomplish 2 or 3 goals with one action. When you reach this level of efficiency, not only is it effortless, but it becomes exponentially harder to fail as even if 1 or 2 goals fail the last one will still succeed.
I mean, that's not being lazy, that's just being smart~another personality type

This is related perhaps, but the thing I (an INTJ) hate most of all is someone using their authority to make me do something for my work that I KNOW is stupid, and despite my logical arguments to the contrary. The fact that I had felt some ownership over the work and am forced to relinquish control in that way makes it incredibly infuriating.
The only way I've been able to survive this type of experience (which has happened all too many times) is emotional detachment from the work, and reveling in very, very dark humor.
That is totally related to the point in the video and is very reminiscent of things I've heard other INTJs tell me. Dark humour is indeed an antidote I've seen INTJs adopt too (as do I!) ~ Nathan

Totally agree as well. For some things, I've decided that I (also an INTJ) will either make a solution, or put a logical argument forward. If rejected, I simply decide to not interfere and watch their plan crumble (it's kind of brutal, but it gets the lesson across too). This has happened with people in authority over me, and sometimes still does to this day. (As arrogant as it sounds...) Sometimes, people just need to learn the hard way an see the consequences of their actions.
My method for dealing with this issue is to look my supervisor (who can fire me with a word) in the eyes and say, "how badly do you want to fail?" That usually works.
Of course, I'm also polite to my supervisors most of the time so when I do something like this they pay attention. A little bit of politeness goes a loooong way for INTJs.
@@jacobwiren8142 Yes. Usually I am very cool, collected and fairly easygoing at work, so when I get forceful, people listen. Once I had to made a veiled threat to quit if something wasn’t changed, and the change was made immediately. It definitely pays to choose battles wisely.

For my entire life people always told me "to live in the now" "be present" while I always seemed to have one foot in the past and one foot in the future. Took a long time to just accept that and tell people who wanted me to live in the now "No".

I find being “present” once in a while can do wonders to recharge the batteries (energy management being of vital importance). Where we decide to be present is key, though, like being present for a meal, or for the sunrise. Refusing to be present *anywhere* in our lives is more a defense mechanism that developed over time and often causes destructive results, rather than being a well-reasoned preference. The concept of energy is so true. As an INTJ, I am constantly weighing if my efforts to improve X is worth the energy. So much so that I pick people to talk to with the important topics which normally fall into ideology, philosophy, future of humanity. The main issue I face as an INTJ is intellectual loneliness. I literally feel like a ghost in society. I can’t express my thoughts without some sort of cultural backlash so what’s the point.

This got me into trouble in school sometimes, but I understand better than doing something actively. I just dont want to do things like there are done, I do things when they benefit me.

I've been through my whole life feeling like an outcast, but not in the traditional sense. Always had friends in different groups of people. But not a single one of them could understand me. Hell, neither did i understand myself completely until i found out i'm an INTJ recently, after taking some tests. I've never even realized there was such a thing. And since finding this channel, it's scary seeing someone describe my experiences so accurately, to the point of even using the same words and sentences the i use in my own head for years.
But at the same time is such a relief, finally realizing i'm not the only very specific type of "weirdo" lmao! And having someone explaining things and validating things about myself that i learned through much mental pain and frustration and other things that finally "clicked" about my personality.

Yes!. Efficiency and planning ahead often give the impression of laziness. One summer, I worked as an assistant stage manager at a theatre company. Over the course of being trained to take over running 'Lend Me a Tenor', I followed around the experienced ASM for a few nights, taking notes as we went along. She seemed stressed as she rushed around backstage preparing this and that, hurrying back and forth behind the set multiple times in the dark. Several times, we passed actors poised to re-enter their scenes, making them nervous.
On the surface, the ASM appeared to be working hard to ensure the show ran smoothly, but I instantly saw the flaws in her approach. When I took over, my aim was to be the calm, unseen hand behind the scenes. I optimized the positioning of every prop and every movement I made backstage. I was there to facilitate the show and avoid distracting or interfering with the actors.
After I had everything rearranged, I actually had long periods of time to read between cues. It surprised the actors at first, but they came to trust me and appreciate the changes. One night an actor came to me in a panic with mere seconds to re-enter a scene, but I calmly pulled out an invisible bandage and handed it to him.
Doing the mental work of optimizing effort upfront and preparing for every eventuality saves time and energy in the long run as well as improving performance. The only downside of this approach is that it is rarely recognized or appreciated by those around us because, on the surface, it looks like you're doing next to nothing. It makes it tough to compete against less-competent employees who seem to be working harder, but aren't working smarter. Only an INTJ boss can fully appreciate and value our unique skills.

The two things I hate most both come from my time in the air force.
1, "Blanket Punishments": if you're unfamiliar with the term, it's when an entire group is punished for the mistake of a single (or maybe 2 - 3) people. That's right; you can follow the rules and do your job perfectly...but you're going to get punished just like that one lazy, incompetent jack-ass that barely puts any effort in.
2, "Mandatory Fun": Events, paid for by the military, where everyone not on duty is required to attend (even if you just got off a 12-hour night shift). To their credit, they actually do put some work into choosing things that people might actually enjoy. As an INTJ, however, I was conspicuously the least happy person at the event in question-every time. Forced socialization, with a lot of people I don't really like, during my limited free time? Hell. No.
Honestly, the military is a REALLY rough place for INTJs. Conformity, uniformity, obeying authority without question, doing things that don't make any sense...ah, memories.
To which we might add, "Team-building Exercises" and anything involving PowerPoint.
There is nothing I hate more than blanket punishments. Why should I be punished for someone else’s laziness/mistakes? It’s also lazy on the part of management because they know it’s easier to punish everyone than confront the source.
I also used to try to save up my PTO at work for mandatory fun days lol. They make me so angry because I feel like my time is being stolen from me.
I'm a young man who's in the AF right now. Yup mass punishments are the worst. Never saw the point of it. It never fixes the root cause but is rather an easy temporary way to alleviate the problem but never truly fixes it. Mandatory fun is also bullshit as well. Found it a waste of time and it felt so unnatural. Having fun should be authentic and out of your own will not because of some dedicated day.

'Do as I say...' , 'because I said so' and 'because it's been always done this way...' makes my blood boil when coming from anyone. If the same comes from the mouth of a superior figure (e.g. someone of a higher hierarchy at the work place) who happens to be incompetent at the same time, there is only one way - out. And no regrets. I may forgive stupidity, though I will never accept wiliful ignorance . And as for delibarate abuse of one's power - I will stand against.

Being an individual that has limited energy and at the same time a perfectionist. Completing numerous tasks (or goals) is very exhausting, I find myself spending too much of my time and energy trying to “perfect” what I’m doing.

Dead on! And I have to say, what I think bothers me more than incompetent individuals is when everyone goes along with a flawed system.
Something related to solving problems far down the line and the future-focus for me is, I know what I do and don't want to experience in the future. I want to prevent problems at work, for example, because I really, REALLY don't want to experience what's coming if it goes wrong. As one INTJ You-Tuber explained, we can vividly imagine and pre-live a future experience many times, over and over, before it's even happened, the way some people re-live past bad experiences. Like our own personal premonition hell. It's bad enough in my head; I don't want to ACTUALLY experience the real deal. Like having to deal with irate people on the phone or things breaking down because nobody took a negative possibility seriously. I'll go out of my way to prevent it so I don't have to deal with it. I don't mind if someone doesn't want to go along with my prevention plans as long as they're willing to take responsibility for all the crap that follows and let me off the hook 🙂
It's not the INTJ way to hate what we don't understand -- but rather it's the things we do understand but can do nothing about, for whatever the stupid reason, that we wind up hating.

I (an INTJ) relate so much to this! I've found that I can't stand big corporate companies now (currently being in one), and I'm just sick of internal politics, and other nonsense involved. In other areas (sometimes politics now as well), it's just come to the point of, "This is a waste of time and energy, now it's just a needless distraction." In the end for me, I've found I like smaller companies and I want to end up running my own business, mainly because I can't find anything out there in terms of career that completely satisfies my vision, goals, etc.
I kind of hate when people that i don't know pretty well say "dude, you're like an emotionless robot/monster"

As a very lazy non lazy infp, I get so caught up in my head sometimes, that I unvoluntarily just waste a lot of time with the smallest of things. Having an easy to follow escape plan, could come in very handy sometimes!

Pretty sure both ENTPs and INTPs does that more than INTJ.
Noooo, Ti and Fi are the analytical functions, but Ti most so in the connotative, logical sense. Overthinking, analysis paralysis, etc., are not common inclinations. INTJs dominant Ni is a perceptive function; auxiliary Te organizational/referential. Only with tertiary Fi fixation does it get strong, and that focuses to a narrower, deeper analysis of the subject and certain meanings, not everything.
@@xkenny-personalitydatabase5604 I (INTP) agree with your points, but does this necessarily dispute OP's claim that INTJs "need to analyze everything"? Although an INTJ's only explicitly analytical function is Fi, INTJs still rely on analysis in order to store and categorize information as "objective fact" instead of just an experience. Te will take an experience and make a rational judgement about it, or analyze it, in order to understand the structure of it / "big picture". So, although INTJs may analyze things less, that (to my understanding) does not necessarily mean that an INTJ analyzes less things than an INTP or ENTP does. INTJs may spend less time pondering over each individual piece of information, but the way they store information means that they still analyze everything that they perceive.
Keep in mind that this is coming from an INTP. This is all based on my understanding of the functions and function stacks; I don't have the personal experience necessary to know exactly what it's like to be in an INTJs head. Just throwing some thoughts out there.

Its not always easy though. I noticed in the workplace that people see my advantages of being naturally efficient and driven, and that sometimes comes with jealousy and distrust from those people. Especially gossip heavy work environments are a nightmare for me as an INTJ as I will, a lot of times, be painted as the bad guy. But it's just on the basis of perception, not on the actual truth of taken moral actions. In fact, I would say that my moral integrity is actually comfortably above average. Certainly above the people who systematically engage in gossip and baseless judging of other people.

This whole conspiracy theorist thing has never rang true for me -- I research everything to find the most truth I can from reputable sources. I'm skeptical, if anything. Seems like a stereotype that keeps being said in the MBTI world.
Agree I don't get it either but maybe, sometimes, there is a feeling that the universe is conspiring to make things happen, if that makes sense? I always connect dots even sometimes when they shouldn't.
Every "reputable source" is bought and paid for. Science is political now.
The moment you add trust issues to the equation, it suddenly makes sense--the moment you become suspicious of any and all sources, removing any actual possibility of verification, then the pursuit of the truth has to fall into the realm of deduction and intuition. This makes it extremely easy to stumble places that are probably nonsense, since you no longer have trustworthy facts to ground yourself in.
Add to this the INTJ's objective-oriented nature, and suddenly you're using all of your time and resources to find an answer or fix a problem that may not even exist, because it's become your primary objective thanks to good-old NE screaming in terror of a potential threat.
I like to look at conspiracy theories even though I know they are wrong so maybe that's where this idea comes from
@@monero_bully2412 I don't think you understand how science works. In science, you have to lay out your evidence openly for anyone to scrutinize. Even if all reputable sources went corrupt overnight for some reason, they would still only be able to suppress certain science. Glad you quoted Ayn Rand. After discovering I'm INTJ I understood, why I liked her books.
Rand is an ISxP. She's a strong Ji dom; her Se comes first and her Ni lacks complexity (deep fixation blind to Ne). Both Ti and Fi are analytical functions which can be confused with "reason," which she clearly prefers in her writing. I haven't read enough to differentiate. How she trusts and defends the senses is highly unlikely for a sensing inferior. Also, projecting her own moral philosophy onto others and thinking it objective is the most improbable conclusion for Fe blind INTJs.
Funnily, I'm leaning ISFP, which is also Dave Powers likely type, and they both insist on misusing language in labeling their system of belief the indirect implication of "objective," instead of using a more dry, technical term. This shows a rudimentary value of Te.

I'm INTJ. Throughout my 57 years of life, I have developed a deep feeling that if you want to get something done right, you have to do it yourself. I am a thinker, a schemer, and a part of me wishes that I could be king of the universe, but the better part of me knows that God is the only one suited for that job. As I age, and wizen with each passing day, I understand more and more just how little I really know about anything. I do know this, however. God gave us life and individuality so that we could live free. Free to make our own decisions in life, whether they be for good or bad. Free to experience the outcomes that arise from the actions that we take, based on our decisions with the opportunity to better ourselves because of this. I beg of you all to be ever vigilant against people who would take a political office of power over you, promising security to you in exchange for some of your freedom. These are people that you must beware of because their ultimate goal is to enslave you. These people are the deceivers. They will accuse their political opponents of high crimes while, they themselves, are truly the ones who are criminal. I could never, as a child, ever have believed that our world would come to what has become now.

I run my own service business so all I need to secure is the client's trust, which doesn't take long- they find out about me through word of mouth... I've never advertised- another Pandora's Box I deliberately circumvent!!! I am constantly busy, but have already plotted out today's actions... now only mindless motion, as I'm plotting tomorrow... & the next day, all the while a sub-program is running on one side, plotting out the weekend trajectories to address what needs doing at home. ADD to this the fact that my "wildcard" is running a 24/7 Wildlife Hospital, where I answer calls in 4 COUNTIES for the State. Always have a contigency to jump to if necessary.
And... *I DO ALL OF IT ALONE.* I loathe excuses, so I avoid ppl whenever possible... Just _Leave Me Alone_ & "let me do my thing" & we're good. I am done & gone before anyone realizes it, & my fone is tagged w/Thank You(s) all the time... I don't have time to waste...💜

Most pack excuses... I pack SOLUTIONS. "Lazy" becomes evident if you're paying attention to the efficiency quotients.... VIVIDLY MISSING in the ones who pack excuses. You are bullseye in tapping past experiences pulled forward to address current & future scenarios: I was fascinated w/engines, specifically HP & Torque, when a child... by 12, I could listen to an engine & tell you what was wrong- to this day, mechanics are afraid of me... I know my hotrod better than they do & She's maintained flawlessly by RACETRACK pitcrews, as "the others" _dropped the ball._ It vividly illustrates exactly what we INTJs confront: incompetence, excuses, all leading to ultimate FAILURE... & I have no time for it. When I need the vehicle to "respond" ....whether it's a job call or a wildlife emergency, She needs to "jump to it".... That's how I roll...🌪💜

😂 absolutely accurate. I am always complaining about incompetent systems, policies, processes, coworkers and even strangers.
I don't know how you know INTJs so well but the things you listed are all pretty much the source of my frustration. & the efficiency/conserving energy thing is definitely number 1 on my list too. My family calls me lazy because I hate to do chores, but really I just like to do things that require more brain power & conserve my energy than doing chores which will immediately drain my energy lol.
Also, I once worked under someone whom I found really incompetent & I really really really hated it. I'm not greedy for power, I prefer to stand on the side & manage things without the responsibility of a leader (so I still can have my freedom), but if that means incompetent ppl are going to be leaders then ....
As an INTJ, I’ve spent hours upon hours working with my psychologist about how to deal with the incompetence of others. I’m really bad at dealing with those people. When a pharmacist accidentally gave me the wrong medication, I lectured her about how her incompetence was so severe that she could kill people. Had I taken the medication she gave me, I would most likely have ended up hospitalized. I didn’t stop until she was crying, and even then I was on the phone with the corporate office telling them to replace her with someone who could read.
Like I said, I don’t deal well with incompetence.
OMG, intelligent laziness! Never have I heard a more apt description for what has always come naturally. My description of it was that I was working hard at hardly working. Kudos for finding a far more concise way of saying the same thing!
Hey Mr. Nathan! I remember talking with an ENTP and INTP yesterday in the discord server about work smarter not harder, where I rephrased it in my way that you work smart and hard.
Where once you achieve that level of smart work, you double your efforts for more success, to achieve your endgame. Utilizing what you have learned to your benefit and it is really good to see it being discussed here.
I find watching your INTJ videos a comfort and a sense of camaraderie. I listen at 2x speed when I have an unavoidable time delay. I like your quotes. Edison went about things in the dumbest ways: a broken clock, correct twice a day. Poor Tesla. (One of my kids pointed out that a broken clock is not necessarily ever correct on the time 😂).

You can find a needle in a haystack by using the wind or a leaf blower, since the iron in the needle is denser than the hay it should stay whilst the hay gets blown away in the same way panning for gold works

If i was to rank the things i hate as an intj it’s probably plans being ruined and energy being wasted tied for first maybe having energy being wasted as number two and number 3 has to be incompetent fools so the final list would be
1-plans being ruined
2-energy being wasted
3-incompetent idiots
But their all the same thing as incompetent fools ruin my plans thus the energy on those plans is wasted making me extra pissed

That was so true about INTJs being aware of their finite amount of energy. I am so aware of this and get annoyed at the thought of wasting my time without the return I see as worth it.
INTJ-T here. Totally agree with number 2: Incompetence. And whenever I complain about these things people think, I am a negative, toxic person! Truth is, most people are afraid to see the truth and afraid to change it rather than suffer. What a waste of energy. And I also got the term "Lazy" stamp on me sometimes, while in the long term, my achievement is a lot more than the average person's.
Somehow this sounds like a completely accurate description of my way of thinking.
From the planning ahead to save time later, to hating greater powers that hinder my plans, to thinking in long periods of time, instead of short term.

"Work smarter, not harder." is pretty much my mantra. The quicker you get something done, the more time you have to either get other things done or to have more personal time to do whatever.
Hmm, so I don't recall filling out anything for youtube with my personality type. (Although, I'm sure google is well-aware with all the information they compile.) I'd venture to guess your analytics are based off the numbers associated with the subject matter of the videos? lol. In any case, this INTJ is already subscribed, but I don't need to hit the notification bell for this channel. (That's more for channels I hardly pay attention to for one reason or another.)

Indeed. You know how corporations have unending training on improving efficiency, just repackaged in different decades? Six sigma, LEAN, continuous improvement, etc all intended to train staff to identify and iron out inefficiencies. Every time I’m like, this is literally how i live my entire life, and consequences how I already work. It’s so annoying that there’s no recognition that some of us already have this as a natural default.
I mainly use the training to learn what jargon i need to use to explain to others what I’m already doing so I guess one benefit is that these things train *other people* to understand why I do things the way I do.

As an ENTJ, I related with a lot of these. I feel like INTJs and ENTJs(having the same functions) are two sides of the same coin- ENTJ is the top side-basking in the limelight, while INTJs are the shadow side of the coin, hiding from the same.The only difference is that ENTJs are fundamentally unafraid to draw attention towards themselves, while I have seen my INTJ friends literally DIE and crumble when people try and announce something about them in public.
That sounds quite true to me (INTJ/INFJ). In a very limited way, I'm the other way around though. For example, I like playing basketball by myself, and will play somebody else if they ask, most likely, but as I play alone a great deal, I also actually sort of thrive on somebody watching me play it, because it helps my concentration. It's not that I can't concentrate alone, it's just easier when somebody is there. I know I used to actually hate it when somebody would be watching, and it would make me nervous, but nowadays, with a more polished game, it can really help with the concentration, which is key. Playing alone can get awfully boring, especially when you're having a bad day and can't just seem to find the focus to make the difference.
I have always had a fear of speaking in public, say on a stage, as well, but these days I imagine I could actually pull it off with a bit of practice. If we had the net when I was young, I probably never could had wrote much of anything just due to not wanting to stick out at all. Problem is, as I've found, not wanting to stick out, makes you stick out often enough, at least among the extroverts, so you're probably better off not being quite so much that way. There's a fine line somewhere where you can achieve not sticking out in it's most efficient way, but going out of your way to not stick out, isn't that precise place. It would seem having something of a chameleon adaptive ability to the people you're around would be in order, and, of course, INTJs aren't two-faced.
Yes, I recall as a youth, that was one of the things I did regularly, adapting my mode of operation to the people I was around, and it really is a sign of an immature lack of knowledge of one's self - and yes, I had no idea what I was.
I am an INFJ but related to everything you said about INTJs.
It's the Ni. It collapses experiences down to its essence to be used for maximum efficiency. It's just that, usually INTJs and INFJs have different goals and they interact differently with the world. Both still look for the essence in things
The gleaning a lesson from the past and subsequently projecting it to the the future sound more of an istj thing. Chaos know of no boundary of time. Reasonable though that this video is an intp’s take on it!
Maybe this explains why I score insanely high on SI in most cognitive function tests. I have a habit of going back and forth between past and future often. Even after an immediate action.
