Thank you for keeping us alert to the dangers of lies on the internet. Thank you, once again, for your great teaching of human anatomy. Also thanks for taking us along on your rock climbing, running and walking times as well as your holidays.... what a joy! I hope you have a safe and enjoyable time in Australia.
Sam your a wonderful person who gives much more imput into the knowledge your students gain. I grew up without the internet and all my studying came from books. I'd end up with at least six books all on the same subject and read by and large there were a few discrepancies in the texts. To anyone who watches your chanel can hear in your voice your a truth teller. I just wish I was young enough to be in your class. I've always had a love of anatomy and physiology. Thank you for sharing your knowledge online.
Internet users need to develop a strong skepticism of the motives that internet creators have when they create content. Not just the creators, but the media that publishes their content. I was a weak skeptic decades ago and have developed a strong skepticism as the internet grew. It's a great medium with so much instantaneous access to so much intelligence but also has so much mind numbing drivel as well as a dose of diabolical misinformation.
Wonderful perspective Sam! You're a person I take a lot of inspiration from, absolutely love what you put on the web! May you always see the truth in things 🙏🏻 ❤
For 30 years I've been in the tech industry and seen the long con develop over that period. I've focused on biological replication in robotics and ai for the past 13 years (hence my following you for years), and I see the same playbook of lies in the narrative of ai we see today, and now it appears that science has been weaponised to sell that narrative. I've stopped writing about theories and discoveries, as it goes against the machine of the lies, which is sad, because I actually found great joy in sharing that knowledge. Your content and sharing of knowledge is wonderful, and to be clear, I use your content to validate other sources, not the other way around. Thank you for the truth as you believe it to be. That is all we can ask for. From everyone.
We've achieved so much that the people never imagined 30 years back, just imagine how far we'll go in next 30 years, but the fact that negative things will also get ridiculously powerful scares me at the same time, will be interesting to see. Hopefully everything will be done in favor of humanity as whole.
It is extremely sad and frustrating to see science maligned, some people are so willing to be fed simple solutions to complex problems. They rather believe the lie than fathom the truth, because the lie requires no work and comprehension.
Orbicularis oris looks like a cicular muscle of facial expression but really it is made up of separate groups of muscle fibres. It is typically described as having origins on either side of the mouth at the modiolus (where a number of muscles come together) and inserting into the skin around the lips. It is attached to and supported by other muscles of facial expression here. It is described as indirectly attaching to the mandible and maxilla via these other muscles.
Here's two scientific truths everyone knew back in the day: 1. The sun revolves around the earth, and not the other way around 2. Blood moves back and forth in the blood vessels, not in a circular motion
Sun revolving around earth was a religious idea, challenged by scientific observation: www.inquiriesjournal.com/articles/1675/copernicus-galileo-and-the-church-science-in-a-religious-world History of discovery of circulation and the challenges in studying this are here: www.worldhistory.org/article/2268/william-harveys-discovery-of-blood-circulation/
During a BSc and PhD you spend a lot of time reading scientific papers, looking at their possible strengths and weaknesses, and writing reports or presenting to groups about these as part of your work. When you write papers and try to publish them they are reviewed in the same way by a panel of peer reviewers for the publisher.
@@SamWebster What a tireless scientist ! I never knew that you used to read scientific papers , looking at their possible strengths and weaknesses , and writing reports or presenting to groups about these !
Shouldn't there be more accountability for people who lie to the public? The thing with Medicine is Latin and lack of plain speech. I can work out anything if I can visualize it.
Much of the Neolatin and Greek is to give new names for structures to improve accuracy and move away from using eponyms. It is a bit of a code to try and crack it though.

Agree! Thank you for reminding us to be skeptical of, and questioning, internet information. And thank you for your truthful science!

Just found your channel, plan on spending more time here. Cheers
Doctor , you represent the true meaning of ubiquity of knowledge and this equity that everybody could access it ......

...hmm...3D printing of living things, perhaps, is the direction...Hehe. Fun.
Wow Sam you’re getting closer to 1M subscribers 😮
I agree…. So much misinformation, non-truth…..
I think about the horse-people in "Gulliver's Travels" who can't conceive of lying. In a better world, lying in a public forum would be a crime.
Internet is slowly dying. The dawn of the internet was the best part of it
Well said sir.👍
Yeeah,, that's skills ❤
Thx Sam! (Love the hair!)
Wow.
Will you answer me please, I'm so confused, Orbicularis oris orginates from midlines of mandible and maxilla OR from modiolus??? Please I'm going nuts

Doctor , could you please tell me , what did you mean by " as a scientist I've been trained to think critically " ?
