  • The Vance & Hines 3" Slash Cut slip on mufflers are just too loud for my taste. I don't feel like spending another $120 for baffles to reduce the noise and from what I understand, they don't reduce the noise by much. See this 'how to' video too.

On Revzilla I saw there were 53 reviews for the V&H slip on baffles which should have told me something. That along with the fact that they are out of stock lets me know that a lot of people think they are too loud. Guess what? They are too loud.

Going for aftermarket exhaust without mufflers, you're just getting fancy straight pipes. It's gonna be loud as F no matter the bike. Now these exhausts with mufflers sound great. Still rather loud, but nowhere near the straight pipe option you went for. It's still louder than the stock with one set of baffles removed, but at least these don't scrape when leaning hard, being thinner and shorter.

Thanks for this video. This was my exact worry about them- a lot of the reviews are raving about these and the sound but it seemed incredibly loud to me. Too bad, I loved the profile... I find the stock too be way too big, especially on my Rogue. Hope I can find some sort of middle ground.

@@mtlamont Hey brother, so after a few weeks of research I settled on the Bassani slash cuts that people said were quieter than these and are helpfully also cheaper. I love them. Incredible low grumble but when you want it to be quiet it absolutely can be. No annoying drone and for me (since this is always going to be a preference thing obviously) they sound great. Feel free to send me any questions- I just picked mine up off Amazon and it was straight forward. Good luck and safe riding 👍🏽

I recently sold my CBR600RR with a yoshi exhaust. I love noise but I just got back from test driving a private sale Indian Scout with these exhausts. HOLY COW it was obnoxiously loud even for a crotch rocket guy. The bike is a good deal so I will be ordering the quiet baffles. I don't need THAT much attention driving around town.

While it’s way overpriced, the Indian OEM 2-into-1 is noticeably louder than the stock pipes, but not at all overly loud. I have them on my 2020 Bobber and they sound awesome. I got it at same time I bought the bike new and also got their Stage 1 intake and Indian OEM tune.

The Bassani slip ons are louder than the Vance and Hines I rode one recently with the Bassani pipes sounded awesome but just too loud for everyday use also did a comparison of the Bassani next to a Scout with the Vance and Hines and the Bassani were louder, my wife called me when I was riding the bike with the Bassani and I couldn't hear her properly due to the volume. I am picking up the Vance and Hines slip ons tomorrow for my Scout Rogue and I have already purchased the Quiet baffles and will put them in straight away.
