i cried when this film ended, i cried like all night, i do not think that anyone else in my family understood the pain of knowing that This Is The End. there's not gonna be any more movies about the ring. and not just bc it's the last movie, bc THEY died ( saying they bc spoiler warnings ) the ending was great, i didn't think that Peter would include that bit since he didn't include a lot of other bits from the books and so on, but i'm happy with it. and on the Tauriel being in the last two movies, i think it was great, i'm one of those fangirls who really felt like The Hobbit needed a girl in it since it was only boys. i think she did a fantastic role as Tauriel i just wished that Tolkien himself would've named more girls in the book. but really, we needed this character for the 2nd and 3rd film. The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings has really been a journey in my life, it has really changed it. i wish i could have said thanks to all the cast members, to all the make up artists, the clothing theme, basically everyone on set, but the most huge thanks goes to Peter Jackson for making this journey possible for us fans to see and be a part of, thank you for creating the movies that i love with all my heart. thank you. you really deserve this :) btw. i'm 12 :P #fangirl #lotr #lovethismovie #thehobbit #bestmoviesevr *Fangirl crying sounds*
Now you must be 15 years old, what is that for a feeling to know you forgot all about your favorite Movies of all time!? Tell me! People never change, in one time they are the biggest fangirls, three years after they completely forgot about the movie!
What I wish at least one interviewer asked was to have the actors answer some questions in character. Like imagine Thranduil answering some dumbass questions. That would be so hilarious. Like Benedict Cumberbatch talking to the interviewer as Smaug the whole time
I love Tauriel, just not what they did with her. She deserved more. They turned an awesome she elf into a mary sue in a bad romance. No blame on the actres however! I think she is awesome. And I have no actual hate for Tauriel herself. But they should not have done the romance thing.
I honestly wish there was more time to think, build, and show off her character. Just more time to flesh out her character as a whole in stead of making her a Mary Sue and leaving her as that. I still absolutely love Tauriel though and love her addition.
I dont blame her for being pissed. PJ totally ruined a promising character by throwing her away on a pathetic love story. He didnt even let her kill Bolg afterwards. She just sits there crying after getting her arse kicked. Pathetic.
mojomaster1979 I agree, I think people would have respected her character more if it wasn't for the love story and the love triangle. Like really, an elf and a dwarf. It just wouldn't work.
@FREEDOM LIGHTRIDER apparently in the appendices there was a story of an elf and a dwarf falling in love. Peter Jackson used that as the base for Kili and Tauriel. But still, it was an unconvincing love story.
I don't think legolas actually romantically liked tauriel. He was much older and seemed to be kinda looking after her, like guiding her. He was more like a brother in my prospective. I also find it funny how elves seem to dig all others but their own kind
Every one of these LOTR/Hobbit actors claims not to quite understand the bulk of Tolkien writing... and then they just start talking about it rather expertly. Evangeline Lilly has several times expressed remarkable knowledge of the books. They are all so humble about it, but they do know how it all fits. They are all very impressive.
+Amarië Thranduiliel well yeah I have read all the books, seen all the films and the behind the scenes stuff and was pretty involved in the whole thing as I lived in Wellington, NZ while all of them were being made. So I resent that comment. I just plain and simple liked the character.
She was a reallybad character. Put there just to fill a gender quota, and getting involved in a ridiculous love triangle and just being really unnecessary.
Yeah Tauriel was disappointing in this film, not enough combat for her, she became too much of a damsel in distress and what became of her after the battle isn't shown. Hopefully the extended edition will remedy this, along with a few other stumbling points I have with the film. Aside from that EPIC FILM!!! AND AN AMAZING END TO THE MIDDLE-EARTH SAGA!!!!!
Did you notice that at 1:12 before Lee is going to unbutton his jacket he sees someone, probably making a sign to him (and Evangeline sees someone too), and then while he is unbuttoning his jacket he do like a 'yes', very subtly, with his head (1:16), like 'okay'...?
What would have made Tauriel's character would have been had she died. It would have been like this: her desire to go out into the world and to fight against evil is what gets her killed. She died fighting for what she believed in, and she inspires a king and a prince to go out and fight that evil, not hide away.
I reluctantly agree. Tauriel's death would have made Legolas' hatred of dwarfs and his leaving Mirkwood more poignant. Yes. The love was real. She was willing to die for love of Kili.
+Amarië Thranduiliel The thing is he didn't ruin it. The addition of one character doesn't mean the movies is ruined. All you strict book fans are limiting yourselves too much
Tauriel alone ruined Thranduil. Originally he was a good guy who just was not overly fond of dwarves, valued life and helped all those in need. But because of Tauriel he became a cold guy with prejudice for silvan elves, despise for dwarves, lust for gold... Originally there is no indication of Legolas amd his father ever having a difficult and distant relationship. But Tauriel managed to put father against son. So yes, her mere existance was enough to ruin the personality of perfectly good characters.
1:30 lol Evangeline is secretly losing it inside. Haha look at the way she eyes the both of them through all these interviews - exactly the way I would be.
I'm so glad Tauriel was a part of the movies and I'm especially glad that Evangeline was chosen to play her. I have been a fan of Evangeline since Lost and I think she did justice to the this latest role. So, if Kili had to give his affections to someone other than me, then I'm pleased it was her! :-)
Weird because during An Unexpected Journey's commentary Peter Jackson stated they had almost all of The Battle of the Five Armies filmed, and The Desolation of Smaug was the third film made from a technical point.
I did like Tauriel but I did not enjoy this triangel kind of romance with Legolas and Kili. Plus , the making Thranduil more cold and cynical. No, that was not fine. But Tolkien forgot women in his books, we are almost not existing.
What does Lee Pace say when Evangeline says that Tauriel killed just a couple of Orcs on her way trying do defend Kili? (she seemed very pissed off by this scene xD)
What Lee said was a big double entendre with sexual innuendo. “Getting a little dwarf action” meant romantic maneuvers with Kili (as opposed to battle scene action).
She's disappointed that Tauriel didn't have more combat. She wanted Tauriel to wield a sword reforged and a wizard staff and marshal the ents to the battle of now six armies, arriving on the shores blown from a north wind from the sea, healing people with athelas, and marrying Kili and becoming the first elf queen of khazad-dum, and then donating her used armor to the museum in michel delving and teaching bullroarer how to golf.
I would've liked Tauriel a lot more if she wasn't anyone's love interest. Seems like she was only in the movie for that purpose. When I first heard that they were adding an extra female character I was hesitant for this exact reason, but I still had some hope. But no. She just became a one-dimensional damsel in distress. Tauriel had no affect in the major plot points whatsoever. She was just some unneeded filler for some dumb people demanding more women in a series with some badass women already in it. If you're going to add a pretty unnecessary female character, at least try to do it right. Such a waste. Although I think I would've been very happy with just Thranduil in the movie, if he got all of Legolas' and Tauriel's screen time.
Bossy Tweed Really? He does have an aura about him. But maybe its coloured by his slighly feminine character in the movie. I mean, I certainly hope he does, but I doubt it.
I was surprised Tauriel appeared at all! She is not in the book, so putting her there was an offense to all the fans. And no, real fans do not love Tauriel. Real fans wish she never existed.
Haha. Obviously she's not in the book but peeps can still like her, and no, it's not an offense to "all fans" just some. Also who's to decide what a real fan is? Not you or me.
Lee has a problem with numbers for sure. Millions of Elves and Orcs? Especially the Elves i seriously doubt if they were more than 1000. 500 were the Dwarfs. The Orcs if i compare it with the 10.000 that were on Helms Deep they must have been a close to 15.000 - 20.000 with the Gundabad army added.
Dima Morad Doesn't matter to me if he's gay, bi, or hetero - in my fantasies he can be whatever I want/need, right? He's such a good actor, first and foremost. And since he's not saying - wise move! - everyone is happy!
Honestly the way Lee and Orlando look at Evangeline throughout this whole interview.... Lucky woman!
Lee is the most perfect man everrrr
yeah go on Lee,remove that damned jacket,it's offending us :P

I almost die 😍❤
yeah. I almost had a heart attack
When Lee started unbuttoning his jacket...so sexual
Sexy *_*
I literally got to find how he did it lol
Sorry to bust your bubble but he's gay. look it up

Same, i mean they basically didn't know anything about each other XD
@FREEDOM LIGHTRIDER apparently in the appendices there was a story of an elf and a dwarf falling in love. Peter Jackson used that as the base for Kili and Tauriel. But still, it was an unconvincing love story.

Orlando looks so nice here, really youthful. Why did they think it was necessary to CGI the hell out of him in The Hobbit? 😞
I have a deep feeling of justice that Tauriel was created and included, thanks to the film makers and to the fans as well.
