This game has changed so much since I last played in 2012.
Those new ships look incredible. That Titan... wow. Kind of Alien vibes. Can't wait to play the FPS and see how well it works and integrates with the actual action of EVE.

I'd wish there was a realistic active player count. I really tried eve last year but there's no way to stick to it. Having doubts any sort of players actually coming in droves. It's still an expensive antique living off veteran's nostalgia and sunk cost fallacies.

You are correct, kind of. But, it's still part of this expansion. "first strike" will be out in December, but it's only a beta. The full launch will come later.
@@Jeff55369 so then its NOT out, except the trailer CLEARLY says warzones in space AND land, as a feature tour of Havoc. if its NOT playable now then its not a feature of Havoc.
@@TheMacCloud yeah it's kind of weird, but ccp is doing some sort of narrative thing with their feature releases. I'm not defending their decision to do it that way, it's just how it is.

@@Cybrid2684 Well to be fair, I'm pretty sure everyone who has omega will get access to vanguard in December. So, it is kind of part of the expansion. Just in a weird round about way.

It’s a separate game that will be connected through the eve universe. Over time it’s supposed to become more part of / have more influence on Eve Online. It is supposed to be part of the pirate war against the empire forces for example.

@@Montenegro651 I kid you not I swear it was talked about, even advertised, that it was coming years on years ago. It would be, but honestly, it's no different than No Man's Sky or Bethesda's thing. Just like going through a Jump Gate, the landing process is automated, and poof, new servers! Then again, I'm no game developer!

I'm confused. I signed up for a newsletter and says Van isnt out yet. Seems like it's the fps but this makes it sound like a module already in place ? Does that make Havoc like a wow expansion ? The link says Van should be out Dec.

Yes, exactly that! You’ll even spread pirate influence across system and decay them into lawlessness!
"Chill" is relative. But if you gain enough loyalty with the pirate factions, they will leave you alone. Empire factions, however...

Oh Bollocks - I played Eve for years and FINALLY managed to kick that habit some years back, I've seen all the update and though tempted, it wasn't enough to make me "fall off the wagon", until now.

looks cool but do i have the time and energy to attempt again to get into this game.. not really. not that easy to get into either.. and im a solo casual :(
I have similar thoughts. I have tried so many times to get into this game, but I have always left with disappointment. I don't have anyone in my friend group to play with and I don't have time to get more serious with people I don't know, because I can only play games a couple of hours per week. It's a shame because I really want to like this game. It ticks all the boxes for me, except a big minus with this game, the PvP. I hate always-on PvP because it leads to ganking and griefing, something I've encountered a lot in this game.
I've been in Eve now for 4 years as a solo casual. I make plenty of currency for my fun. It's not actually that hard to learn... hard to master though as there are so many possibilities. That's what keeps it fun and interesting. So many ways to play, so many things to do. It's a sandbox.
@@oliver_twistor It keeps you on your toes while doing PvE. Means you can't just set up and AFK. And in a game that is purposely extremely hands off, all sorts of things can and will happen.
its the sort of game that i need to find a local meet up, sit down with for 6hrs, learn some. then set on my way... but that not going to happen@@mycroft16 i may reroll character though and see if i can just be an explorer and miner
@@oliver_twistor plenty of tools and methods to avoid ganking. A disposable alpha alt scout, intel channels, friends who will scout for you, hauling services like Red Frog, etc. Any ship can fit an interdiction nullifier and warp core stabilizer to avoid bubble camps. I just slipped away from a camp the other day in an industrial fitted thusly and filled with 300m isk worth of goodies. Planetary Interaction is a bit challenging to set up, but once it is, can easily provide passive income of 300-500 million isk per month or more (if all 3 of your toons mine planets). It only takes a few minutes per toon to reset and collect once or twice per week.

Theoretically Serpentis is a under faction of Angel - As far as i recall the Serpentis ships we fly in game is attributed to Guardian Angels - which is an Angel Cartel wing in charge of guarding Serpentis - who really are just drug manufactures x)
So if I don't want to be a pirate, from a RP perspective, what is there for me to do? I'm in the Gallente Militia engaged in FW. What changes for me now?
Nothing. Carry on as usual, but expect more disruptive behavior from the pirate factions. I have heard they are attacking player citadels, for example.

I actively played EvE from 2009 to 2019. For about 3 years, I only log in for about 20 minutes once a month. I remember when 50k people was logged in at the same time, now I don't know how many active players there are.

I have been in the game since June 2003 (with 230 mil sp and 3 jump freighters). I left. Why did I leave? Because, they moved to a "pay to win" platform and raised the price. Nothing says get lost more than that.

Eve doesn't "force" you to do anything dude. You can become a billionaire doing market trades and never even undock. There is a sliding scale of risk vs reward, so if you want the big prizes, you have to risk big too. If you want to play it safe, that is valid, but don't expect to get mega rich hiding under CONCORD's skirts.
