    honestly my number 1 thought watching most of these games is how awful getting matched against a streamer is. so many turns that go to count down because he's just chatting with chat lol

      I've had this thought now and then...hard to balance content creation with being a considerate opponent.
      In that same vein, I'm always cracking up when a streamer mentions the salt rope...maybe your opponent is just trying to get chat to teach them how to pronounce Eijano.😅

    The issue with tons of casual products is that competitive players have no way to interact with them. On the other hand before the age of EDH casual players were more than happy building their decks with cards that came through the standard pipeline with just a handful of made for commander cards each year.

    The problem with the discover combo deck isn't the power of the deck itself, but the way it warps the meta. Like yeah you can beat it by holding up removal. But a lot of decks will suffer by essentially always having to take turn 3 off because of the threat of this deck.

    Serious question. Have the long term players bemoaning the success of the newer games ever considered that maybe the new games hitting such success is because everyone involved are new to the game. They’re all in it together. Starting together. There are no old school players CONSTANTLY calling new cards old names, calling new effects old effects, saying this format ruined that format, and constantly making it clear to new players that ‘hey remember buddy, I was here before you’. Even the oldschool players like Seth, who want the game to be successful in all ways, is guilty of these things. Its not even intentional I don’t think. It’s just, well the break between “casual” and “competitive”, may just be a break between player generations. idk. Just a thought

      I think you are on to something. MTG has a robust and loyal fanbase for decades, which certainly has its advantages, but the world and particularly the world of games have changed A LOT since MTG was first conceptualized. Card games that come out now have a chance to reinvent the genre in a way that caters to current gamer sensibilities more and utilizes recent tools and advancements. MTG is still timeless but there's no reason to expect it to be the top forever.

    You know Seth I've been working on a spreadsheet of card data so far from the Challenges since LCI's release. There's a lot of talk about Standard and what not so I was looking to get some harder numbers behind it all. It's not perfect or anything and I think I would want to do some more data research at other points in time for better contrasts but I don't think standard is in that bad of a place as people think?
    Unless you hate Wedding Announcement, then I don't know what to tell you. That card is everywhere lol.

    You dont need terror of the peaks for the 4 damage because the red god makes that 4 damage. Just impact tremmors. And have some turtles to reduce land costs. Maybe zirda to reduce costs even more.

    • @jacobbrj
      @jacobbrj 10 месяцев назад +1

      Wait. Against the odds idea. Land god tribal. Use the gods to soak up removal, for ramp into reach into the multiverse or something. You can use turtles and maybe zirda to filip the gods easy all at one of you need

    1:47:49 This is a misplay. Since the equipment gives Vigilance, the only mode that blows you out is the -1, and that still nets you a Land and 2 bodies. And you can sacrifice the treasure to get +1/+1 and dodge even that.

    Honestly, no slight to him, but i had to stop watching because his constant rambling while ignoring the match, and subsequently other player, was very off putting. It seems very disrespectful to the other person and getting timed out due to you just ignoring is just rewards.

      I get it. I like Seth, but I rarely make it through a whole Seth stream video. Either because of what you mentioned, or because my OCD can’t take him constantly starting a sentence and never finishing it, or because he sometimes launches into clear ‘bait’ topics that gets a usually chill chat all riled up. Think something like “so, do you think WoTC is just doing for money?” You know how that will end. There is only one way that will end. Then he tries to play the hero and calm the people. Could have just not baited to begin with…but hey. Then there’s the fact that he usually reserves his “i’m going to play miserable, unfun, decks…come cheer me on chat” stuff for the streaming.
      So yeah, Seth is fun. I just don’t think his stream content represents him best.
