I really like this brand. When you had a strong scent memory tied to Bubble Bath, that is the way I felt about Lipstick On. I love to think that all of their perfumes do that for someone. I rarely have that experience with perfume, unless it’s the signature scent of someone I know. All of my favs have been discontinued though. I still have about a quarter bottle of Lipstick On but my bottle of Whispers in the Library is long gone and so is Tea Escape. I was surprised they got rid of Coffee Break too. I really want to test In the Garden. I purchase a tomato leaf candle from Etsy every Spring so I feel like I need to try that one. This was a fun video, Claire! Thank you for all the time you put in and all of the research. I always appreciate how thoughtful your videos are!
Thank you! Yes this took ages 🤣 I've been testing these since early January! I would have loved to know lipstick on better, I think I tried it once but I can't really remember it... Sad that your other bottles are gone. I like tomato leaf in fragrances as long as it's not too crazily strong. It's a very nostalgic smell for me. Thanks for watching, have a fab week! 🥰
I just want to say I purchased Coffee Break and Matcha Meditation because of this video. I’m super happy with them. I also tracked down another bottle of lipstick on and some decants of tea escape. I figured if it meant that much to me it was worth it. Thanks so much for this video. It made me more happy than you’ll know.
OK, I have a pretty sizable MMM Replica collection. Here is my rough ranking of the bottles/decants I have (I have mostly bottles) and a few words for each: 1. Jazz Club: Yep, it does it for me. A slightly raunchy tobacco with appropriate booze note and is very wearable. 2. Across Sands: Discontinued, Im a lover of dried fruit/date/fig scents so this features prominently in my list. Not the best of the genre but good nevertheless. 3. Soul of the Forest: Where Autumn Vibes replicates the deciduous forest fall leaves damp with morning dew, Soul of the Forest does the same for the coniferous forest. A cool late fall breeze blowing through a coniferous forest at high altitude. 4. Under the Lemon Trees: It brilliantly replicates sitting under a lemon tree with wafts of the lemon fruit and green leaves and twigs. The slightly green lime note gives the lemon with greenery accord. Very pleasant. 5. Autumn Vibes: Underrated for sure. A walk down a deciduous forest path in the early morning dew of fall, with damp fallen yellow orange leaves underfoot. 6. By the Fireplace: Great winter wear and replicates the cozy winter fireplace mantle with scones or whatever. 7. Bubble Bath: Great replication of soapy clean. Similar to Mugler Cologne or Creed Original Vetiver. Unisex. 8. On a Date: Im a dude and this leans feminine. But I like the wine & roses valentine date vibe, so I bought a full bottle to layer. I wanted to layer it with a more masculine scent to move the whole combined scent more masculine, and I wanted to introduce the note of chocolate to more fully replicate the valentine date scenario of wine, roses and chocolate. So I layer it with L'Instant de Guerlain. I may switch that out for Tom Ford Noir de Noir. 9. Lazy Sunday Morning: Good replication of a spring morning laying in bed between lenin sheets with the bedroom window open and a breeze wafting in. Could have backed off the musk a bit more though. 10. Sailing Day: Average typical aquatic blue fragrance. Similar to a Ralph Lauren Polo Blue. Nothing special. Im OK with calone. It is not oceanic/marine, however. I don't get seaweed or anything like that. Nothing close to a Sarah Baker Atlante, for example. 11. Matcha Meditation: Its a good tea scent for me. I think it replicates a tea drinking session, but Im not a tea drinker. I like it. 12. Coffee Break: Problem with this one is the lavender note does not belong. Not a great replication. Otherwise a pleasant enough scent. 13. When the Rain Stops: It is NOT a good petrichor replication. Its a suitable, pleasant, light office scent. I have a petrichor collection. Surprisingly, the best concrete petrichor scent (wet rain water evaporing off a concrete sidewalk) is Tom Ford Oceania. 14. Whispers in the Library: Do library books smell like vanilla? No. Not a very good replication. Lots of better paper/old book scents out there. A pleasant fragrance otherwise however. 15. Beach Walk: They should have focused more on aquatic/oceanic accords with this one. Instead, they went the direction of an intense plasticky accord replicating a plastic beach ball or float, and sun tan lotion. Back off on those and jack up an aquatic/oceanic accord. 16. At the Barbers: Barbershop Fougeres are my favorite genre! But this one is simply too metallic. That metallic accord, I assume present to replicate metal scissors etc, is irritating to me. So Im picky about Barbershop Fougeres so this one fails. I also have smelled From the Garden and like it enough to buy a full bottle. Id probably place it in the #6 to #8 range.
Thank you! Ooh you have tried some of the special editions! I would love to try Across Sands! I have never seen a bottle! Since filming this, I have tried From the Garden, I was quite indifferent to it, it was pleasant but it didn't wow me. I liked that the geranium actually smells more rosy and the tomato leaf is quite light and airy rather than earthy. It was leafy and green but sweet too. Thanks for your reviews, they are so useful for anyone watching this video and thanks for watching 🥰
Flower market sounds so lovely ,ahhh I would love to smell beach walk ,nice for a tropical holiday ,I love how they name there fragrances and really have to sample them all sometime . Evoking a memory really makes us look at a fragrance from a different perspective
They are worth trying! I used to absolutely love Flower Market in store but my sample didn't impress me as much, still lovely though. Beach walk is fab, I think since you like Terracotta it would be a winner ☺️
its so crazy how widely scents can be interpreted. i have a decant of Matcha Meditation and all I get is white chocolate and jasmine -- no matcha, no savoriness. Bubble Bath is amazing, such a comforting scent
Lazy Sunday Morning is my daughter-in-law favorite fragrance, she gave me a sample of it and I'm love with it too, yes I do find it smells very similar to Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT, one of my most beloved fragrance of all time 💙 the smell of clean sheets in these two fragrances is so wonderful !
Hi beautiful! I tried every single Replica fragrance and my favorite is Coffee Break. It’s the only one I own a full bottle of. It is an interesting brand 🫶🫶
I had this set of polar bear soap, I had completely forgot about it until today!! What a trip down memory lane ☺️!! Have a wonderful Sunday Claire and thank you for your thorough review ✨💕💕
I remember loving that whole set and sitting many times sniffing each soap in turn and arranging them! It always bothered me that the elephant was so small in comparison to the polar bear 🤣 I completely over thought that 🤣 thanks for watching 🥰
Claire! You nailed it for me; I could never get on with Matcha Meditation because of something I couldn't put my finger on, and you've totally nailed it: NORI!! I don't enjoy that at all and have always wondered what kind of person would want to smell like that. People, eh? I do love Bubble Bath and will get a full bottle some day. I keep trying to see what people love in Jazz Club, too, but the sandalwood just wrecks it for me. I do love my By the Fireplace and wear it when it snows, which you can imagine is quite often. I wear it in the summer, too, when the forest fires are rampant and we're not allowed to have fires at night. That with a bit of a chocolate fragrance and a marshmallow fragrance and I'm a whole s'more complete with the smoke from the fire. I love it! Wonderful and informative as always, my friend. xo
Matcha Meditation is a tricky one, I sometimes smell it and sometimes not, but I've been taking cod liver oil capsules and those also make me think of the opening to that fragrance 😂 not on my to buy list but it's interesting! Jazz Club was a strange experience, I need to go test a bottle in store and see if those samples smell like it smells now. By the Fireplace is an interesting one. There's lots going on and it's really good at portraying what it sets out to. I absolutely love marshmallows too! Thanks for watching 🥰 have a lovely week! ❤️
Good to see you Claire! 🤗🤗 Great overview of the house. I used to wear Jazz Club back in 2016, I think I should revisit it. Watching this made me curious to see if I'll still love it. The other one I enjoy is Lazy Sunday Morning - eazy breezy fresh. I only tried a couple of others, haven't found others that I enjoy as much yet.
Lazy Sunday morning is so so good! I love the opening! 😍 Jazz Club I am curious to try in store because my samples did not smell the same as each other at all! One was an official sample, the other from a friend's bottle... Perhaps from different formulations, I'm unsure! Thanks for watching 🥰
Morning Claire. Just got back from walking the dog on the beach wearing Beach Walk. I also have By the Fireplace which I enjoy in mid-winter despite not being a sweet fragrance person. I had a sample of Sailing Day which I found too masculine. Gave it to my son-in-law who liked it, so got him a bottle for his birthday. Love how you describe fragrances. I marvel at you and some other reviewers, and how you can describe in such detail the different components. It’s not just reading the note list, you do it so well. I must have a peasant’s nose☺️ Very basic in how I describe a scent. 😃🇦🇺
Oh Beach Walk is lovely and By the Fireplace is really interesting! If I didn't have Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud I think it would excite me much more. Sailing Day was a big struggle for me, but that's just my problem with calone, it's their 7th biggest seller! I think I just try each one a lot and am a bit forensic about things. Some of these samples I've had several years so I've had a while to think about them! 🤣 Thanks for watching 🥰
Lovely run down claire, i think I've smelt most of the line, and I'm not a fan of most of them. Never liked By The Fireplace because it reminds me of smokey maple bacon, it's far too smokey for me. The only one i have is Whispers in the Library, which I've always liked, but not sure i love it anymore. It's hit and miss these days but i still think there's something quaint and charming about it. One i wish they hadn't discontinued is Lipstick On. . It's truly so similar to French Kiss from Guerlain (another discontinued gem) which luckily I've got. I still have a sample of Lipstick On and it's such a pretty fruity Lipstick scent. The Autumn one was ghastly to my nose. My over imagination kept going back to slugs under those dry autumn leaves 😅 🤷♀️. On a Date was okay, can't remember it too much, but it didn't work out for me. Wish the company could release Lipstick On again but i guess its another lovely fragrance lost in time. 😊
Ooh I'd absolutely love to smell Lipstick On! I missed it I think, although I have a hazy memory of sniffing it in store once. Whispers is lovely but I don't think I'd pay the eBay prices for it now 🤣 LOL slugs 🤣 yeah probably not one for you 🤣 Thanks for watching 🥰 have a fab weekend ❤️
Wait coffee break is discontinued??? Nooooo it was on my wishlist for such a long time 😫 And i just sold my full bottle of Whispers in the library for 60€. Did not know it went for a lot more now 😅 oh well. Another great video Claire! 🎉
It is apparently! They removed the sample from the sample sets and I asked the sales assistant who said once the bottles are gone from their store, that's it. Yes whispers is quite rare now I think and in the UK at least it seems to go for quite a bit usually. Thanks for watching ❤️ have a fab weekend 🥰
Oh yes, Bubble Bath was a good one. Yes Matey was brilliant. I did have a mini bottle of this one, but i never reached for it so ended up decluttering it. But it had a nice dry coconut instead of a creamy typical coconut.
Matcha Meditation is my favorite of the line. I have purchased some travel sprays of others, but it's the only one in full size. I'm going to need another as I've used over half of it.
I've purchased travel sprays of some of these but none of them last very long on me and I've just not been sufficiently impressed to buy a full bottle of anything. I will say that Bubble Bath also brought back some pleasant scent memories. Loved the story about your dad's dressing gown! Great video, Claire.
Yes! Bubble Bath is so nostalgic! Really brings a smile 🙂 and you know what?! That dressing gown is a family joke. Dad still has it, so it's probably 65 years old 🤣 it's the most luxurious smooth brown wool and I used to love the tassels that fasten it. It's something you'd imagine someone wearing a fez and smoking a cigar in. Dad promised me it's mine in his will 🤣 hopefully not for a long time! 🥰
I wish I could find a fragrance similar to Lipstick On. I Only have a few travel size from the brand. Lazy Sunday morning and By the Fireplace - polar opposites in some ways, but both comforting. But I also have Ameer Al Oud and wear that one much more than By the Fireplace Edit to say that my Jazz club is very tobacco forward
I would love to try Lipstick On, so sad that that got discontinued. It sounds like the one I would have enjoyed. Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud is just a bit easier to wear than By the Fireplace, I totally understand that being worn more often. I have no idea about Jazz club, those two samples were pretty different... It would make sense for it to be more tobacco forward!
By the Fireplace is my husband’s and I favorite scent by this perfumer we both love the Smokey woody scents and to me it has a marshmallow scent in the opening 😅🥰🥰 I was also very disappointed by the coffee ☕️ one smelling mostly of lavender I got all excited when it had coffee in there too 😅😄
Yes! I guess the sweetness could be trying to be marshmallow! It's certainly sugary. It's a nice fragrance, but I can see why people might struggle with it too. I agree, coffee break is pretty lavender heavy and the name makes that very surprising and a little disappointing. Thanks for watching ❤️ have a lovely week 🥰
The only one of their line I have tried is on a date and although it is not the scent profile I usually go for I really like it. I am also interested in by the fireplace but I don't know whether I would like the smoke note.
On a Date is really lovely, definitely one of my favourites from them. I think By the Fireplace is definitely one to test. It prompts strong reactions!
We both love bubble bath and does evoke good memories. Autumn vibes is lovely and has a place on my shelf for sure. As you may know I do love Under the Lemon Tree but really those are my favourite scents. Bubble Bath for the win 🥇 fantastic! Hope you are having a great week so far Claire!
Replica have some really interesting ones! I love the idea behind the brand. 😊 And yes! Bubble bath is stunning 😍 thanks for watching ❤️ and have a lovely Friday 🥰
On a Date got such a bad rap! I'm not saying it was my favorite, but I still didn't think it was as terrible as everyone was saying. I have smelled From the garden twice now, and I do not like it at all, but if that was your style of fragrance I think it is well done for what it is.
Why was On A Date hated? Was it the blackcurrant? Cos I love that style blackcurrant! In the Garden doesn't sound like something I'd love, but I would like to try it. 😊
@@dr.claire.perfume In general I think people found it very earthy, musty and fairly masculine. And the wine-like quality seem to be hard for people to wrap their heads around. Yes it wasn’t a favorite for me, but I did quite like it! 😊 Yes I know what you mean, even if I don’t think I will like a fragrance I still want to smell it for curiosity’s sake! 😆😅
Hey Claire! Excellent overview! I credit Jazz Club and By the Fireplace as transitioning me into more niche-like frags; I still enjoy them but have not worn either in several years. Tinned vegetables? 🥫🥫 Eeeck! 😳 Coffee Break got me interested in coffee scents and I still wear it quite often - agree it’s cozy & delicious, but not really literal. Did not know it was discontinued yikes! 😭 I also love Matcha Meditation 💚 🍵 MM Replica’s more recent releases have seemed unremarkable to me 😴🤷🏼♀️ so many loved bottles that are gone now, doesn’t really make sense. I think I’d love Lipstick On but not willing to pay the inflated prices to smell it.
Thank you! Yes! I can totally see that! They are a good gateway house with some of their more quirky fragrances 😊 I've no idea why one of the samples smells like tinned veg to me 🤣 I'd love to find Lipstick On again! I want to sniff it and see if I do remember it! Have a lovely weekend Jill 🥰
Excellent review Claire! I own my favorites in a 100ml format, Beach Walk, By the Fireplace and Matcha Meditation. I also have a 30ml of Springtime in a park but it’s one I don’t really like anymore as Autumn Vibes that I have in a 10ml. I also have travel sprays of Lazy Sunday Morning and Sailing Day. I enjoy these two but not big bottle worthy for now. Bubble Bath and Lemon Trees are two I’d like to add to my collection in travel sprays to start with. I don’t care for their latest releases unfortunately… Have a great weekend! 🙂
Wow Julie! You have so many! 😱 You should be doing this video! I didn't try the newest releases, I am curious though they don't attract me from the descriptions. Thanks for watching, have a fab weekend 🥰
Hi Claire. These guys seem to discontinue their best ones... Coffee Break is my favorite one. I also really like Matcha Meditation. I decluttered Autumn Vibes because I mostly got earth wet decomposing leaves with a tiny bit of maple syrup sweetness. Smells great on my father, who now has my 10ml. On me, Bubble bath smells very soapy and a bit sour almost. The notes seem to be conflicting and clashing. I need to declutter BTFP. The burn sugar note mixed with the smokiness almost makes me nauseous when I try to wear it. It's just too much for me... I haven't had much luck with that brand.🤷♀️ Sailing Day makes you seasick... kinda ironic... 🤭
Coffee Break going is really sad. That one is lovely and Matcha Meditation is very interesting! It seems like there are reasons people don't love Autumn Vibes! And clearly Bubble bath is divisive! I think there are very few here that I would consider buying and definitely not Sailing Day 🤣 I'm sure if someone likes.calone though, it's a winner. Thanks for watching 🥰
Great review! I also liked On a date it reminds me of Dom Rosa from Liquides Imaginaires. I quite like At the Barber on a man, as a casual, morning, right after shower fragrance.
Thank you! ❤️ Yes, I have no idea why I placed At the Barber's so low, because I did really like it, I guess because it wasn't one I'd reach for, but it was lovely and gave me a strong scent memory 😊 On a Date is really lovely! Thanks for watching 🥰
Whispers in the library is so intriguing 🧐 a lot of these I am not familiar with ! Spring time in the park is another one I’d love to smell ! The marketing of the way they name there fragrances really draws you in and want to try them all . I had no idea they went back so far !
I dunno why they discontinued Lipstick On… i feel that is a scent that i’d immediately love 😢 Bubble Bath is in my list right now… i have a sample and immediately loved it 💜 it stays sooooo long on skin and can be a bit too much sometimes 😅
Yes I agree! Bubble Bath can be quite a lot! You don't want much of it, it's also very long lasting considering it's an edt. I have no idea why Lipstick on was discontinued, I can only assume there was some regulatory change that meant it would need to be reformulated? It was so popular! They'd have been mad to discontinue it for any other reason. 🤷♀️
I'm very new to this brand and I find it so intriguing. I work in fragrances and I really love what he's doing. You'd like to think there's so much good fragrance out there but that's just not true. So I was delighted to find this fragrance review. You've kept me interested. Thank you.
I wholeheartedly agree with your statement that "you'd think there's so much good fragrance out there but that's just not true". I think most modern designer and most mass market niche falls under this statement for me. I think MM are always at least always trying to be a bit different and I really like that about them! I now have a 10ml of Bubble Bath ☺️ good luck in your fragrance journey and thanks for watching 🥰
I own many of these fragrances. This is one of my favorite perfume brands. By the Fireplace, Autumn Vibes, Beachwalk, Whispers In the Library, and Music Festival are my favorites. I love Jazz Club and Barbershop for my husband.
Wow you have lots! You sound like a big fan! They are really inventive and have a wide ranging selection. ❤️ I really appreciate them too and I always try the new ones ☺️ I've since tried In the Garden. I also now have a decant of Bubble bath! Thanks for watching 🥰
I love Jazz Club. I bought it for my hubby for Christmas, but he shares with me😊 I get rum & tobacco. I also love that it's not too heavy or dark & I also get great longevity. I suspect the one sample you received must have been a defect. Thanks for the reviews!
One of them was from an official sample from a sample set and the other from Paola Bianka's bottle, so I expect they might just be different ages. I will go to try it in store 🙂 have a fab weekend and thanks for watching 🥰
Beach Walk is dreamy. I might buy a full bottle sometime (I have a decant now). The longevity is decent for a Replica scent. Thank you for the review. Edited to add, based on your review, I'm going to give Bubble Bath a go, ty!
Yes! I really liked Beach Walk ☺️ bubble bath will be a hit if you don't mind aldehydes. Some people absolutely hate them, so it's likely to be divisive. Thanks for watching 🥰
My fragrances from this collection are: Whispers in the Library, By The Fireplace, and Coffee Break. They're all so good! I've owned full bottles of the three mentioned above but I no longer have them in my collection as I decluttered all my fragrances a few years back so I'm slowing trying to get my collection going again. This time around I'm trying to be much more intentional about what to add and what to pass on. I do have inspired by versions of both By The Fireplace and Whispers in the Library so I'm happy with those and will only add Coffee Break to my collection again soon.
I think all three of those are really loved fragrances. It's a shame that MM have discontinued some of their more popular ones. They have some interesting and distinctive fragrances. I now have a decant of Bubble bath 🥰
I've found a bottle of Whispers in the Library and added it back to my collection. Also, MM brought back three from their black line (same bottles, same line but black and perfume not EDT): Flying, Walking on the Moon, and the Forest one....can't remember the name.
I can go off a perfume quickly if I wear it at the wrong time ,either season or mood ,it’s weird (I’m weird LOL Loved hearing you talk about this house and not surprised at your choices 😊 Have a great weekend Clare Hugs ❤
Yes I understand that, if you don't enjoy something one day, you can be hesitant to spray it on again! Thanks for watching Frances ❤️ big hugs back, have a fab weekend 🥰
I liked In the garden, but my problem is the dry down..there is something that makes me nauseated. The tomato leaf is a bit strong at the beginning, but I like it
I actually really like tomato leaf, it's prominent in one of my favourite fragrances, but I know it's difficult for a lot of people. I wonder what it is about the drydown that isn't pleasant? I tried to find a sample, but seemingly nowhere near me sold that fragrance 🤷♀️
I am not sure what's bothering me in the dry down..I tried it twice in the store, sprayed it on my arm..really liked the first 30 min to 1 hr..As for tomato leaf, there is Green Spell by Eris perfume that comes across as crushed stems, tomato leaf..an interesting fragrance
I’ve tried some of these in store to be honest and I wasn’t that blown away. Hence why I haven’t found one that I’m obsessed with but I perhaps need to revisit them.
I think if you are a beginner these are striking, as you get more experienced, they don't seem as interesting because you've smelt these profiles. There are a few that do stand out but the problem with some is the longevity and projection. Some of these don't perform well at all.
I got a sample after filming this! Did you try Miller Harris Found at Dusk? I love the tomato leaf and blackcurrant leaf in that fragrance, so realistic and vivid! Thanks for watching 🥰
@dr.claire.perfume I really agree it stood out to me so much, alongside autumn vibes, I'd love to see you review the black bottle line they did one day ur fragrance reviews are really well done. 💪
@dr.claire.perfume I'm in Wales as it happens, the black bottles were an EDP release of 5 fragrances back in i believe 2016 and they are in my opinion super unique they released 3 of them this year again, I highly recommend having a gander when u have the time u might be interested 🙂
I've never smelled Funfair Evening, Promenade in the garden, Music Festival or Under the stars. This video has me wanting to go back and smell all of my samples again! 😊😊
Me neither, except for Music Festival, which I remember really enjoying! I would have loved to have smelt those other ones! It's sad that there are so many discontinued and that I can't find the newer ones where I am. Thanks for watching 🥰
Autumn Vibes and From the Garden are my faves from the line. Autumn Vibes transports me back to my early childhood growing up in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. Huge sense of nostalgia every time I wear it. From the Garden really got me into green scents. I always thought they weren’t for me before I smelled this one. Now I’m obsessed with the tomato leaf note.
Ooh I have now tried From the Garden as it's become available here. I also really enjoy tomato leaf in fragrances. My favourite so far has been Miller Harris Found at Dusk. Autumn Vibes is massively underrated I think. It's really lovely and I think that nostalgic feeling is totally what this line is about. ☺️ Thanks for watching 🥰
I love the Bubble Bath fragrant the most out of this house. What a lot of people haven’t mentioned (which you did!!!) is the fact it has a very good performance for a soapy clean fragrance and dare I say one of the better performances in the whole line up.
Yes, it's got fab performance given the scent profile, it's definitely near the top, if not at the top! It's lovely! I now have a travel spray of it ☺️ thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Claire! I started watching this yesterday and then got interrupted. I used to love Jazz Club but it didn’t gel with my skin very well and started smelling weird to me. I’m so sad that Whispers in the Library was discontinued 😢 Loved hearing your thoughts on these. The 2 newer ones don’t really excite me. It doesn’t sound like we’re missing much from not trying them. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Oh yes! This was a long one 🙈 it took ages to make 😂 Jazz club had me scratching my head. No idea what I was smelling there because it doesn't seem to reflect others' experiences. I have just not found the two newer ones anywhere but I know under the stars was a Harrods exclusive to begin with. Thanks for watching 🥰
I had whispers in the library and By the fire place. I liked them but that was all. I have a discovery set and I was surprised by Springtime in the park. I regret I didn t have the chance to test Lipstick on. I enjoyed so much this video.❤❤❤
@@roseayalaperfumeaddict5059 It is by a small company called The Fragrance Shop they are the best! They do body lotions, oils and other products in any scent you want! You’ll know you’re on the right page if you see brown bottles. 🤎🥰
@@roseayalaperfumeaddict5059 Hi Rose! I responded to you on here earlier but my comment is missing, I think it’s because I mentioned the name of a company? Do you have Instagram? I can send you the name of the company!
@@roseayalaperfumeaddict5059 I’ll try to respond to you maybe in one of your videos - this is my third time trying to answer you and RUclips isn’t letting it post the name for some reason! 😂
I absolutely love the Replica line. I don’t know how to rank them, but I really love Lipstick On, Tea Escape, and Beach Walk. I am still testing When the Rain Stops and Bubble Bath. Neither were what I expected.
I feel like I tested lipstick on and Tea Escape a long time ago but I don't remember them, I'd love to be able to retry them 😊 do you like when the rain stops and bubble bath? 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume I like Bubble Bath more than When the Rain Stops. I purchased travel sprays, but I don’t know if they will be a full bottle love for me.
@@LJernegan I can understand that. I don't feel I want more than 10 ml of bubble bath, as much as I enjoy it, I am just not sure how often I would reach for it. 🤷♀️
I can imagine it would be good for layering because it's a relatively simple fragrance, so verbena, musk and woods. Nothing really to jar with anything. 🥰
I had exactly the same reaction to Coffee Break Claire. "Where's the coffee"? I found it a pretty and cosy fragrance but not what I was expecting. I was thinking I'd like to test Sailing Day until you said rotten seaweed 😂
I don't know, you should probably try Sailing Day, I know you enjoy aquatic and marine. I think I'm just really sensitive to calone! It's a shame Coffee break is going! I think it's quite popular. 🥰
I am one of the few people I know that DESPISES ethyl maltol in fragrances, I just cannot stomach it. That's what bothered me about By the Fireplace, then! I didn't know it contained that ingredient. Lazy Sunday Morning, on the other hand, is just my type of fragrance, just amazing. The only reason I haven't bought it yet is that it's really pricey in my country. Thank you for the video, I loved it!
Yes, I think it's been crazily overdosed in recent years. 🤣 I didn't know either until I sampled BTF again for this video years after first trying it when I knew nothing really about fragrances but I smell it! Lazy Sunday Morning is super pretty! 😍 Happy you enjoyed the video! 🥰
Hi Dr. Claire 😊thank you for the lovely video! The only Replica I have is Bubble Bath, but now I need to try Autumn Vibes, On a Date, and Whispers in the Library…
I really like "In the Garden." I love the smell of tomato leaves, and it's a refreshing scent to me. I'm going to pick up a bottle during the Sephora sale 💚
@@dr.claire.perfume I love the tomato leaf smell in L'Artisan Parfumeur "Vetiver Ecarlate" and while it doesn't smell the exact same as "From the Garden," I get the same invigorating freshness initially, with a little soil quality that is probably the patchouli.
I can understand that! I think if I owned it, I would rarely reach for it, even Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud is a rare wear these days for me! Thanks for watching 🥰
I have smelled a lot of these but, for whatever reason, have never picked them up 🤷🏽♀️ They’re nice fragrances I can’t do marine notes…if that equals calone, then I get it.
Yes I see that! I've tried these so many times and I still don't own a bottle of any of them. I am open to a travel spray of bubble bath though. I think calypsone like in Gaultier Divine is also an issue for me, that whole aquatic note family is tricky for me! Thanks for watching 🥰
The rose in that one surprised me! It makes it very wearable. In general, I find the really earthy side of petrichor harder to wear and this doesn't have that so that's a tick for me. Thanks for watching 🥰
It's absolutely spot on that fragrance, brings it right back! Yes, I'm guessing anything with guaic wood is going to be a complete no for you if you don't like smoke.
I didn't realize Autumn Vibes has carrot seed in it. I'll have to smell it again in store. I think I smelled it once, didn't like the initial impression, and then forgot about it. Thanks for doing this video! 😊
Jazz Club is beloved among fragrance dudes! I haven't smelled it myself, it's always missing when I'm at a Sephora. Very curious about that blue shower gel bottle you have, I wonder what happened! Shaving soap/cream/lavender is like the base note of half of my collection, so needless to say I've got my nose out for their at the barbershop fragrance. I do always make a point to smell any of these that I can when I have the rare chance to do so.
Gosh! I really liked At the Barber's! When I was editing this, I regretted placing it so low! That scent memory from it was strong! I didn't expect at all to enjoy it and actually it was good and long lasting too. I'd definitely recommend it 😊 Jazz Club I'm curious to try another sample of, because those two that I have are quite different to each other. Maybe in store it would be different again?! Thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Beautiful ❣️ I'm with you about Autumn Vibes being highly underrated. I think it would be in my top ten for life ❤ I want to get a sample of When the Rain Stops because it sounds like my vibe ❤ Awesome video ❣️
Aww I'm happy it has some fans! 😊 When the Rain stops was not at all how I remembered it when I resampled it for this video... Much more Rosey than I remembered! Have a fab week 🥰
The house has an interesting concept in place. I don’t own any of the fragrances but occasionally sniff them at my local Sephora. Because of the very short longevity, I don’t think they are worth the money. Thanks for an interesting review!
This interesting I have only two fragrances from this brand. It is your first and second choice. Bubble bath that I enjoy spaying at night more a clean fragrance for me. And on a date. I think it is yummy and date worthy.
Those are the only two here that I would consider buying, the rest for me are fine, but not "me". I do have a travel size of Bubble Bath now and I've been enjoying it 😊
Coffee break and matcha meditation are two of my easy reach and comforting fragrance, however i also dont get much of the cafe latte note in coffee break. I get what you mean on the matcha meditation that reminds me of the matcha flavored kitkat it is white milky chocolate like what i get from matcha meditation but it also has that subtle kind of nori taste in the background. Want to discover more from the replica line they have a very good price for the quality of the fragrance 💜
Those two are both fab! Matcha meditation is so interesting! I think I've had those KitKats from when people at work have been to Japan! They have some very interesting flavours 😂 we just have boring ones here. Thanks for watching Rin 🥰
I forgot to say that Nordstrom had a tester of Funfair Evening a few months ago and I really liked it. Why they had a tester of a fragrance that is long discontinued and that they cannot sell, I do not know!
Wow! That is really weird! I didn't describe that one, but I think it was a liquorice and sweets kind of vibe? I think I tried it but I couldn't be sure! I thought that was long gone as it's no longer on Maison Margiela's website, but maybe not?!
Great video Claire. Would love to know what your recommendations are for a petrichor/fresh/rainy mens fragrance that's better that WTRS please. I'm looking to buy something in this scent profile.
@@dr.claire.perfume Something more aquatic and ozonic Claire please. Something that is rainy and fresh but without choking the room with sweetness or heavy scent.
My suggestions will probably not be great as I don't own many ozonic fragrances now as they aren't my preference. You could maybe try Dior Eden Roc (I didn't enjoy this, I found it too mineralic for me), you could also try Miller Harris Hydra Figue (nice fragrance but just not for me), also the Hermes Un Jardin line are all mostly watery, I have le Jardin de Monsieur Li (I rarely wear it apart from in very hot weather), but many of the others are watery too. One I've not tried, but I've heard recommended, is Aegean Salt and Citrus from Theodoros Kalotinis. I think the problem here is that ozonic is pretty rare in fragrance, to me ozonic smells like electrical equipment. Aquatic and oceanic are far more common, but not necessarily what you want..
@@dr.claire.perfume that is such a comprehensive reply and I'm really grateful for sharing your knowledge. I will get some decants of those and test them. I recently purchased Clean Reserve Rain which is very wet and fresh yet a little feminine for me so I've added iso super as a layer to give some body. I've also bought Ferragamo Free Time which is a lovely freshy, very light and ozonic to my nose.
I would love to see them add a fragrance with pure orange blossoms. That feeling would take me back to when my parents grew orange groves in Florida and it's such an intoxicating smell. If anyone knows of a good fragrance out there that captures that scent in a photo realistic way, you'd be my hero! Just the blossoms, not the citrus orange. 😊
I agree that would make an amazing fragrance! My friend had some orange blossom oil and it was really a shock to me how it smelt. It was almost like a lightly green vanilla, but not sickly sweet. Fresh and floral but rich and full. Totally unlike orange blossom in designer fragrances. I loved it! My brother lives in Clearwater, but used to live in Ft Lauderdale, I also have very distinct scent memories of visiting Florida ❤️ thanks for watching 🥰
I love the concept of this range and the apothecary style bottles too. Very interesting to hear your thoughts; next time I go to John Lewis I'm going to test On A Date. Lipstick Fever sounds good too. I have seen the odd bottle for sale still but reviews say its very fleeting. Are they all EDT? If so I suppose that's to be expected unfortunately. Have a lovely weekend 💖
I think they are all EDT yes. I am not sure why I like On A Date so much when seemingly everyone else doesn't 🤣 I've not seen Lipstick On for sale for ages! I would love to retry it! You too, have a fab weekend 🥰
I love Autumn Vibes, I hate Jazz Club, the rest I smelled are somewhere in-between. Doesn't matter anyways because my hard earned money won"t go ever to L'Oreal. Or LVMH. Or Estee Lauder.. 😁 Another great video, Claire!🥰
Haha 🤣 I can see some reasons behind that, I have to say L'Oréal and Estée Lauder have ruined many a decent brand... I get it... And LVMH have been relatively aggressive, e.g. their treatment of Hermès. Happy to hear someone else appreciates Autumn Vibes 😂 not just me, but mainly just me 😂 thanks for watching 🥰
Hmm initially Jazz Club was listed for men only so maybe after the change to unisex they made some tweaks? I don't think I ever smelled the first version
That's interesting! I hadn't thought about a possible switch in marketing and audience prompting a change! These samples are from a bottle that is about 3-4 years old and from a sample set at least 4-5 years old, maybe more. I will go try the current testers in store and see if that is different. Thanks for watching ❤️ have a great week 🥰
Hey sweetie, The flower market sounds absolutely delightful! And nothing beats the scent of a beach walk, especially perfect for a tropical holiday. I adore how they name their fragrances; I definitely need to sample them all some time! Isn't it fascinating how a fragrance can evoke memories and change our perspective? Have a wonderful day! New friend here
I think Beach Walk is a lovely, light-tropical scent... BUT actually being from the caribbean has made me tired of "coconut sunscreen" notes. Nothing wrong with it, I just don't need to smell like it when I can easily get whiffs at the beach. If I moved away from the tropics long-term, I'd get it then. Jazz Club is the only one I own (in travel size) and I find it completely addicitive. It's something I'd wear out clubbing, but mostly I lightly spritz it on my bed as a nighttime, comfort fragrance. Very boyfriend-y. It NEVER turns "men's body wash" or "blue" ... just boozy warm and dark tobacco all throughout. What?! I could've sworn By The Fireplace had cade - which I'm allergic to. Will definitely give it a try soon. Under The Lemon Tree was a scrubber for me, sadly. I got an overwhelming, dirty saliva note from start to finish. Don't know why. I've passed When the Rain Stops onto my brother, as I find something in it sickly sweet (pine?). Otherwise, kind of predictable, masculine-leaning scent. I tried On A Date when it first came out. Pure acetone and then poof, gone. I'll give it another shot as the bottles have been sitting around for long enough now. The rest either had a note I'm allergic to, or just don't interest me at all.
Gosh you must be allergic to quite a bit. By the fireplace might have cade, I wouldn't trust Fragrantica note listings they are in general highly unreliable 😂 Those two samples of Jazz Club that I have come from a sample set or someone's bottle, I will go try the modern version in store as they are both 3-4 years old. Sounds really like you aren't a fan of these. I think the only one I'd consider buying is bubble bath and maybe on a date if it was on a very good deal. The rest I would leave, despite me liking particular elements of most of them. Thanks for watching 🥰
@dr.claire.perfume Aw, I just checked Maison Margiela's official website, and By The Fireplace's notes are listed: Top notes: pink pepper essence, orange flower absolute, clove oil Middle notes: chestnut accord, gaïac wood oil, cade oil Base notes: vanilla accord, peru balsam resinoïd, cashmeran Olfactive family: woody ambery Concentration: Eau de Toilette - Fragrantica lists Juniper as a note, incorrectly replacing Cade.
That sounds right! Happy you checked! That wouldn't have been good otherwise... The guaiac wood is prominent for me and the chestnut more in the drydown. Fragrantica is quite often wrong with notes. 🥰
I agree on Jazz club, the opening is so boozy that to me it's a bit like just spilling alcohol on yourself and the tobacco in it is smokey-- I bought my husband atlas from laboratory perfumes which is a tobacco fragrance that smells like a moroccan souk
No, I've never even seen them in the UK, I assume they must have been released here though. I would love to try Across Sands, it sounds amazing 😍 which is your favourite?
I haven't tried any of those, so I just mentioned funfair evening, which is long long discontinued, Jim has tried that and describes it below, see dcjmr's comment. I describe the other two, tea escape (discontinued) and promenade in the garden (discontinued) from the descriptions given by other people. I couldn't find samples for these and so that is why I don't include them in the ranking at the end of the video, also, they aren't available to purchase any more. Hope that helps. ☺️
Jazz Club is one of my favourites! I bought it then realised later I smelled like a man lol! But I tried it again the other day and it pulled more feminine and sweet! I loved it. Definitely not good in Australia's hot weather but nice in Autumn and Winter
Yes it's a cooler weather one I think, I bet it's good this time of year for you. I was so confused by Jazz Club 😂 I wish I got more Jazz! I will keep trying it though ☺️
Flower Market is nice but would be redundant in my collection 😊 Same for Beach Walk. I prefer Alien Goddess and Warm Sands Blue Ocean I feel the need to say the ‘r’ word again when it comes to Lazy Sunday Morning and At The Barbers. I love them nonetheless 😂 Yes… I adore By the Fireplace 😍 the smoky chestnut aroma is gorgeous Lipstick On and Music Festival were great fragrances, I can’t fathom how or why they would discontinue them Under the Lemon Trees… boring 😆 I think other fragrances execute the citrus musk profile much better Whispers in the Library was also a lovely one. Not my favourite but definitely in my top 10 Coffee Break is my second favourite overall, such a shame that it has been discontinued 😢 I have a few samples of Springtime in the Park. Lancôme’s Idôle smells almost identical, and I prefer the latter 😂😂 so again, quite redundant Bubble bath! For when I want to feel like I’m trapped in a soapy bubble - the best bubble to be trapped in ❤ Matcha Meditation was definitely a mid ‘🍳demic’ cash grab 😂😂 I like it though. When the Rain Stops reminds me of Drop d’Issey Eau Fraiche On a Date is my favourite from the line. When I spray it I get phantoms of my feet squishing grapes and blackcurrants ‘on a date’ in an Italian orchard 😂😂 which isn’t the best considering I hate anything on my feet. It’s not real!!!! 😂😂 1. On a date 2. Coffee Break 3. By the fireplace 4. Lipstick on 5. Music festival 6. At the barbers 7. Beach walk 8. Whispers in the library 9. Springtime in the park 10. Bubble bath 11. Lazy sunday morning 12. Matcha meditation 13. Under the lemon trees Loved this week’s video Claire. You’re a ⭐️
Yes I agree, redundant is a word that I'd use for a lot of their fragrances. Other have done those profiles better and/or cheaper and/or more long lasting in general, but there are a few stand outs. I'm happy to find someone else who loves On a Date! I really enjoyed my sample of that one, perhaps because I went in ready to be underwhelmed. I remember really liking Music Festival and I'm pretty sure I also tried Lipstick On in store, but I don't really remember it... I wish I did! Thanks for sharing your ranking! It's interesting to see what other people enjoy! Have a lovely weekend 🥰
I bought a Jazz Club travel spray for my husband. Love the scent, but it doesn’t last at all. I just don’t understand why there are so many fragrances, in general, that have terrible performance. I guess, because we keep buying them 😂
That's a shame! I'd love to smell Jazz Club on someone else and see if I enjoy it more on them... I guess Replica are all EDTs so maybe that's why a lot have relatively short longevity. Thanks for watching 🥰
I think this is the best Replica video I have ever seen, I really enjoyed it. Appreciate all the work that went into this one 🙌
Thanks Em! Happy that you enjoyed it! I know you've tried lots of these! 🥰
I looove the concept of this collection. The scents are nice but they rarely impress me I found.
I can understand that. A lot are underwhelming or have something that puts me off a little, but a few I really like.
OK, I have a pretty sizable MMM Replica collection. Here is my rough ranking of the bottles/decants I have (I have mostly bottles) and a few words for each:
Three from the black line have been reintroduced to the MM s I t e....Flying, the Forest one you mentioned owning and the Moon one.
This is a very thorough and well researched video. It’s great, thankyou
Thank you ☺️
its so crazy how widely scents can be interpreted. i have a decant of Matcha Meditation and all I get is white chocolate and jasmine -- no matcha, no savoriness. Bubble Bath is amazing, such a comforting scent
Interesting! My decant was from a friend's bottle, I really liked it 😊 and yes bubble bath is a lovely fragrance 🥰
I really like that fragrance, the aldehydes are stunning there 😍 it just smells elegant.
Beach walk is my favorite. I live by the beach and they really did capture the scent perfectly. ❤
Haha, I wish our beaches smelt like that 🤣
Hi beautiful! I tried every single Replica fragrance and my favorite is Coffee Break. It’s the only one I own a full bottle of. It is an interesting brand 🫶🫶
Yes! I would think most people would find one that appeals. They are good at evoking what they aim at too! Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume ahahaha 😂 truuue !!!
I think my favorites are Lazy Sunday Morning and Bubble Bath💙
Amazing video. Thank you for sharing 🌹
Two lovely ones! Thanks for watching 🥰
Whispers is lovely but I don't think I'd pay the eBay prices for it now 🤣
LOL slugs 🤣 yeah probably not one for you 🤣
Thanks for watching 🥰 have a fab weekend ❤️
Wait coffee break is discontinued??? Nooooo it was on my wishlist for such a long time 😫
And i just sold my full bottle of Whispers in the library for 60€.
I got a bottle of Coffee Break for Christmas as it’s my favorite. I had no idea it was being discontinued.
Me neither until I tried to find a sample!
Oh yes, Bubble Bath was a good one. Yes Matey was brilliant. I did have a mini bottle of this one, but i never reached for it so ended up decluttering it. But it had a nice dry coconut instead of a creamy typical coconut.
Yes! I really like it! I'd be open to a mini of it, the coconut is very distinctive 🥰
I liked the sample so much I recently got a travel spray.
It's really lovely 😍
Matcha Meditation is my favorite of the line. I have purchased some travel sprays of others, but it's the only one in full size. I'm going to need another as I've used over half of it.
It's really lovely! I think it's delicious, yet calming and relaxing!
By the fire place never appealed to me but I think it’s definitely something you would grow to appreciate with experience!
It's an interesting one to try, but I have Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud which is similar, easier going and much cheaper! ☺️
Matcha Meditation and Beach Walk are my quick favorites. Thankyou for your review, and im happy Matcha is your 4th choice🫶🏼✨
Lovely choices! Maison Margiela have some lovely ones! 🥰
Bubble
Bath for the win 🥇 fantastic!
Yes I know what you mean, even if I don’t think I will like a fragrance I still want to smell it for curiosity’s sake! 😆😅
I love On A Date! Precisely for the combination of blackcurrant and rose. ❤ And actually it's the only one I like from the line.
Yes I saw one reviewing call it "old lady". I do think the US in general just have less of a love for blackcurrant than the UK does too!
Yes! I find it addictive 🥰
They are a good gateway house with some of their more quirky fragrances 😊 I've no idea why one of the samples smells like tinned veg to me 🤣
I'd love to find Lipstick On again! I want to sniff it and see if I do remember it! Have a lovely weekend Jill 🥰
Hello Claire. I have only one . By the fireplace. Great for the cold season
Yes! I can imagine that's very cosy! 🥰
I haven't had much luck with that brand.🤷♀️
Sailing Day makes you seasick... kinda ironic...
I think you'd like both of those, and especially springtime in the park. It's really pretty 😍
Thanks, Claire for summing up Replica fragrances...this is just what I needed :)
I'm happy that you enjoyed it 🥰
Amazing you’re able to rank all of them🎉🎉🎉
I didn't find all of them to sample, but I managed to get hold of most of them 🥰
I tend to get along very well with this brand, especially their lighter fresher ones! 🥰 Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! ❤
Yes they have some good ones 😊
I dunno why they discontinued Lipstick On… i feel that is a scent that i’d immediately love 😢
Bubble Bath is in my list right now… i have a sample and immediately loved it 💜 it stays sooooo long on skin and can be a bit too much sometimes 😅
By the fireplace really 13:14 does feel like fire😊
It's pretty spot on!
@@dr.claire.perfume I decided to subscribe. Your videos are helpful andinformative 🌿
@@PG-wz7by thank you! I'm happy that you enjoyed this 🥰
My fragrances from this collection are: Whispers in the Library, By The Fireplace, and Coffee Break.
I can go off a perfume quickly if I wear it at the wrong time ,either season or mood ,it’s weird (I’m weird LOL
Loved hearing you talk about this house and not surprised at your choices 😊
Have a great weekend Clare
Hugs ❤
@@AndraAndra-u7y I have a sample of that one! I will dig it out 👍
I’ve tried some of these in store to be honest and I wasn’t that blown away.
From the garden for me as a gardener is absolutely amazing I really do think they captured the garden perfectly
@@Simon2002. Thank you! I have never seen them! Are you in the UK? I wondered whether they were US specific releases?
@dr.claire.perfume I'm in Wales as it happens, the black bottles were an EDP release of 5 fragrances back in i believe 2016 and they are in my opinion super unique they released 3 of them this year again, I highly recommend having a gander when u have the time u might be interested 🙂
@Simon2002. Ooh thanks! I didn't realise they'd released some of them! 🙂
I've never smelled Funfair Evening, Promenade in the garden, Music Festival or Under the stars.
I really love Beach Walk, it's my only full bottle from this brand. 😊
I was really impressed with that one ❤️
Thank you ❤️ Yes me too! It's pretty! And I would love to retest Lipstick On! Thanks for watching 🥰
I did really like Whispers in the Library, I now have a body oil with the "impression of" this scent which is quite nice.
Sounds really good! I think Whispers is really well done! 🥰
Which oil Tammy?
@@roseayalaperfumeaddict5059 It is by a small company called The Fragrance Shop they are the best! They do body lotions, oils and other products in any scent you want! You’ll know you’re on the right page if you see brown bottles. 🤎🥰

Under the lemon tree is perfect to layer with YSL Paris Couture for some reason.
I can imagine it would be good for layering because it's a relatively simple fragrance, so verbena, musk and woods. Nothing really to jar with anything. 🥰
@MaudeThing - I think I'll try this combo. Thanks for the tip
@@dr.claire.perfume ok I'll try it and let you know if I got rotten seaweed too. I know, why do brands discontinue the good ones 🤷
It does seem to change part way through on me when the coriander comes in. The start is easier for me.
Great video, Claire! Fantastic research, enjoyed it x
Thanks! 🥰
Hi Dr. Claire 😊thank you for the lovely video! The only Replica I have is Bubble Bath, but now I need to try Autumn Vibes, On a Date, and Whispers in the Library…
Replica have some really lovely fragrances! I hope you enjoy them! Thanks for watching 🥰
I love bubble bath, matcha, sad that tea escape is gone
I think I remember trying tea escape! It's sad that so many have been discontinued 🤷♀️ thanks for watching 🥰
I really like "In the Garden." I love the smell of tomato leaves, and it's a refreshing scent to me. I'm going to pick up a bottle during the Sephora sale 💚
I haven't tried it! I would love to! One of my favourite fragrances has tomato leaf as a prominent aspect, so I may like it!
It's just very nostalgic for me! It takes me to being little and loving being in the greenhouse and being fascinated by growing tomatoes as a child.
Great video🙂👍 i own only By the fireplace, i find it enjoyable to smell, but difficult to wear due to smokiness.
I can understand that! I think if I owned it, I would rarely reach for it, even Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud is a rare wear these days for me! Thanks for watching 🥰
I have smelled a lot of these but, for whatever reason, have never picked them up 🤷🏽♀️ They’re nice fragrances
I can’t do marine notes…if that equals calone, then I get it.
Yes I see that! I've tried these so many times and I still don't own a bottle of any of them. I am open to a travel spray of bubble bath though.
I think calypsone like in Gaultier Divine is also an issue for me, that whole aquatic note family is tricky for me! Thanks for watching 🥰
When the rain stop my favorite
The rose in that one surprised me! It makes it very wearable. In general, I find the really earthy side of petrichor harder to wear and this doesn't have that so that's a tick for me. Thanks for watching 🥰
I love your scent memory of the dressing gown. 🤍
I can't really do By the Fireplace, yes it's too smoky for me! 😅
No problem! Happy it was useful 😊
🎉🎉🎉hi Claire. Here for this. I have buble bath and it’s great for layering.
Ooh I love bubble bath! 🫧
Hi Claire ☕ happy Sunday ☀️
My favorites are By The Fireplace & Matcha ❤
Good choices! Have a lovely Sunday! 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume you too ❤️❤️
Thank you! 😊
Hi Beautiful ❣️ I'm with you about Autumn Vibes being highly underrated. I think it would be in my top ten for life ❤
I want to get a sample of When the Rain Stops because it sounds like my vibe ❤ Awesome video ❣️
Aww I'm happy it has some fans! 😊 When the Rain stops was not at all how I remembered it when I resampled it for this video... Much more Rosey than I remembered! Have a fab week 🥰
This was wonderful! I wasn't aware of their entire history. This is a house that I know of, but don't really follow closely.
I actually didn't realise that they had so many fragrances until I started looking!
Autumn Vibes smells like a Danish Autumn and is one of my favorites of the like. My favorite is by the Fire Place.
Ooh yes! Autumn vibes is really lovely ❤️ and by the fireplace was clearly groundbreaking! Have a fab Sunday 🥰
The house has an interesting concept in place. I don’t own any of the fragrances but occasionally sniff them at my local Sephora. Because of the very short longevity, I don’t think they are worth the money. Thanks for an interesting review!
Yes I agree, some definitely have longevity issues. Some are good though! You have to be selective for sure! Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume Yes, kind of a sweet orange blossom/vanilla/anise kind of fragrance.
@@dcjimr1 sounds like I'd enjoy it ☺️
Great video Claire. Would love to know what your recommendations are for a petrichor/fresh/rainy mens fragrance that's better that WTRS please. I'm looking to buy something in this scent profile.
Thank you! Are you looking for something truly petrichor along the lines of earthy geosmin, or something friendlier and more aquatic/ozonic?
@@Arthur_Sleep tlno worries. Thank you for your own feedback on those two too. Have a lovely day. 🙂
Jazz club 5:58 is nice to me
The difference in my samples of that one really confused me 😂 I think I wanted more leather and more booze but it's an interesting fragrance for sure!
Another great video, Claire!🥰
New friend here
They are worth trying, I think there's a lot of variety here and they do trigger memories. Thanks for watching 🥰
My favorite is Beach Walk but it’s not long wearing imo.
I really enjoyed Beach Walk! It's a shame it doesn't last long on you though. Thanks for watching 🥰
Hey Claire!! What a coincidence! I just bought one 🥰
Ooh which one did you go for? 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfumeWhispers in the library 🤭❤
Aah fab! That one's really lovely 😊
@@dr.claire.perfume I can’t wait to bathe in it 🥰
🤣
By the fireplace might have cade, I wouldn't trust Fragrantica note listings they are in general highly unreliable 😂
Those two samples of Jazz Club that I have come from a sample set or someone's bottle, I will go try the modern version in store as they are both 3-4 years old.
Sounds really like you aren't a fan of these. I think the only one I'd consider buying is bubble bath and maybe on a date if it was on a very good deal. The rest I would leave, despite me liking particular elements of most of them.
Thanks for watching 🥰
@dr.claire.perfume
Aw, I just checked Maison Margiela's official website, and By The Fireplace's notes are listed:
Top notes: pink pepper essence, orange flower absolute, clove oil
Middle notes: chestnut accord, gaïac wood oil, cade oil
Base notes: vanilla accord, peru balsam resinoïd, cashmeran
Olfactive family: woody ambery
Concentration: Eau de Toilette
-
Fragrantica lists Juniper as a note, incorrectly replacing Cade.
Ooh that sounds really lovely! ❤️ I bet he smells great in it. Thanks for watching 🥰
Matcha meditation is my absolute favourite replica perfume. So sad its discontinued
Yes! My friend Em had that one and loved it. 🥰
Did you ever sample the Replica EDPs like Dancing on the Moon and Across Sands? 5 of them in black bottles released in 2016.
No, I've never even seen them in the UK, I assume they must have been released here though. I would love to try Across Sands, it sounds amazing 😍 which is your favourite?
@@dr.claire.perfume I liked Soul of the Forest and Across Sands the best.
DID you discuss : funfair evening, tea escape and Promenade in the garden??
Flower Market is nice but would be redundant in my collection 😊
Same for Beach Walk. I prefer Alien Goddess and Warm Sands Blue Ocean
I feel the need to say the ‘r’ word again when it comes to Lazy Sunday Morning and At The Barbers. I love them nonetheless 😂
Yes… I adore By the Fireplace 😍 the smoky chestnut aroma is gorgeous
Lipstick On and Music Festival were great fragrances, I can’t fathom how or why they would discontinue them
Under the Lemon Trees… boring 😆 I think other fragrances execute the citrus musk profile much better
Whispers in the Library was also a lovely one. Not my favourite but definitely in my top 10
Coffee Break is my second favourite overall, such a shame that it has been discontinued 😢
I have a few samples of Springtime in the Park. Lancôme’s Idôle smells almost identical, and I prefer the latter 😂😂 so again, quite redundant
Bubble bath! For when I want to feel like I’m trapped in a soapy bubble - the best bubble to be trapped in ❤
Matcha Meditation was definitely a mid ‘🍳demic’ cash grab 😂😂 I like it though.
When the Rain Stops reminds me of Drop d’Issey Eau Fraiche
On a Date is my favourite from the line. When I spray it I get phantoms of my feet squishing grapes and blackcurrants ‘on a date’ in an Italian orchard 😂😂 which isn’t the best considering I hate anything on my feet. It’s not real!!!! 😂😂
1. On a date
2. Coffee Break
3. By the fireplace
4. Lipstick on
5. Music festival
6. At the barbers
7. Beach walk
8. Whispers in the library
9. Springtime in the park
10. Bubble bath
11. Lazy sunday morning
12. Matcha meditation
13. Under the lemon trees
Loved this week’s video Claire. You’re a ⭐️
Yes I agree, redundant is a word that I'd use for a lot of their fragrances.
Autumn vibes is amazing, but you have to wait until it dries down a little then it doesn’t smell like straight up moss
Yes the drydown is where it's at with that one ☺️ thanks for watching 🥰
I got coffee break... although i am wishing to have macha meditation its not available in UAE😢
That's a shame! I can't believe they don't stock it there 🤷♀️
@@dr.claire.perfume salesperson in any sephora branch always tells me it was discontinued for years.
Hmmm 🤔 I am beginning to wonder whether Coffee break is still going or not... You never know with stores do you? You can't trust that they know. 🤷♀️
They discontinued coffee break??? 😭😭💔💔
I think so 😢
I also feel like Autumn Vibes is underrated
Wow! I'm not alone! 🙌
@@dr.claire.perfume I have the travel spray and wouldn’t mind a small bottle before next autumn.
Aah nice! ☺️
Good morning Clare ❤☕️
Morning Frances ☺️
By fire place is too smoky for me but it smells lovely on my husband
Yes I can understand that! Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud is close enough for me and not smokey. 😊
