I’ve owned RB and 2jz… 2jz is a better engine… doesn’t suffer from crank walk, doesn’t need upgraded oil pump, doesn’t need oil restriction, so oil doesn’t pool in the head, doesn’t need oil drains, 2j doesn’t suffer from weak block. Doesn’t need upgraded coil packs to make 800hp. My 2jz makes 700whp and I didn’t change anything that I’ve listed for the RB.

Sorry to say bro but I’m gunna listen to gforce race solutions there lowest powered cars is 600whp and highest is 1600 and all of factory oil pumps.

Back when i watched it in the 90s it was unreal, as nobody else was doing crazy stuff like that or had 1000hp cars. Now its almost common!

Ive always said if you can pocket a rb build and do it right. It will by far out perform a lot of motors. Wish i could have got my own r33 but prices went crazy way to fast. But ill always admire them.

I remember this car being on the cover of Max Power back in the late 1990s and the whole article where he shipped it here to the UK and promptly took it to the A1M Motorway at 4am in the morning before promptly running at something like 197mph before being caught, then deported. Banned from the UK for a year amongst other things. There's footage on RUclips of that run in the rain while bein chased ineffectively by the Volvo T5 850's till they T packed him to stop.
The one that went to the Uk was gold, this one was never gold, both cars did near 200mph runs in the rain but served different functions, the gold one was an actual demo car built for 0-300kmh challenges at yatabe, that car's RB used twin HKS GT3037S as was the go to set up for RBs in that field at the time, it was capable of 1000ps, that car was meant to reach 300kmh as fast as possible and never really ran on the street besides its Video option features, the white one was more of an all purpose street car, at first it had low mount twin HKS GT2540s and now has a Trust T78 single, they're both sick cars but they were very different

The RB26 engine in a Supra is an ingenious creation for top speed. 2JZs naturally have low-end torque, but to achieve 200 mph (322 kph), Smokey needed high-end power, which the RB26 generously offered
This supra was shipped to New Zealand and did a night run on the motorway, but he didn't get arrested in that instance. I have a throwback pic of him and this car on my Instagram page. He did get arrested in the UK on a different occasion. He also shipped a different Supra, equipped with an MR2 engine to NZ on another occasion for an officially sanctioned speed run.

He was invited to NZ by the ex-head mechanic of Nissan, Soichi Tate who had a RB & SR specialist tuning shop (ST Hi-Tec) in Auckland. You can see Smokey in his shop before going out on his speed run.
I'm sure I read somewhere from Smokey himself, the reason he fitted a rb26 to the supra was because it could rev higher and make power which is what was required for a 200mph + run. Also the reason he used supra because it's more aerodynamic compared to gtr.
I'm an rb and skyline lover but I'm a jdm fan and supra or skyline like smokey is a legand v12 supra was crazy and the rb26 was all about response that's why it had ITB's and two small turbos it was all about racing see the supra was all about being cool the design of the interior to look like a cockpit where an r34 had a full electric display 4 wheel steering like the 2jz is built like a tank and that's why it has respect for big power but the rb is the responsive motor and if u have a rb30 with 26 heads ur get displacement and a fast revving engine I will always take a rb over any jz engine

As good as the 2jz is. Every problem with the RB can be eliminated with billet blocks and aftermarket oil pumps ect. Which leaves the skyline in favour of both looks, sound and awd.

I don't care what anyone says the 2jz is much better motor. That's a toy compaired to a 2jz with stroker kit btw they just hit the world record speed using a 2jz.
I think the RB is a better motor, because it was actually used in the Group A Touring cars, the 2JZ motor was never used in any of the Genuine Group A Race cars, the Toyota Touring cars used the V8 motors, so the RB has Genuine Racing Heritage behind it, and I think that makes a Difference to the Enthusiast. fan bias aside the 2JZ is the more reliable choice. it has no weaknesses to address and the RB does Still a badass build. As a Supra owner I would still like to own an R33 or R34 but I prefer the Supra and RWD over awd
RB26 is very solid engine Nissan did a very good job with it and can make sick noises just like a 2JZ but sound wise nothing beats an LFA V10 some one should put that in a Supra

So crazy how similar it sounds to a 2j being an inline 6 but it's still so different at the same time. Especially inside the car and with them having a proper, not too crazy loud exhaust, it sounds just like a 2j
Sounds far from a 2jz. The RB26 sounds like half a V12. The 2jz sounds like a sporty camry. It was designed as a GT car engine anyway. For street use. The RB is an oversquare 9000rpm hitting inline 6. 2jz dies out after 6.8k. The 2jz is just loud and hits the limiter pretty fast. The RB has some meaty sound. It sounds angry.

The RB sounds much smoother than the JZ, but i'd still take a 2j in my supra (if i could afford one)

I don't care what anyone says the 2jz is much better motor. That's a toy compaired to a 2jz with stroker kit btw they just hit the world record speed using a 2jz.

The black Supra (with a 2JZ) is what put TRC on the map.
I think the RB is a better motor, because it was actually used in the Group A Touring cars, the 2JZ motor was never used in any of the Genuine Group A Race cars, the Toyota Touring cars used the V8 motors, so the RB has Genuine Racing Heritage behind it, and I think that makes a Difference to the Enthusiast. Still a badass build. As a Supra owner I would still like to own an R33 or R34 but I prefer the Supra and RWD over awd

RB26 is very solid engine Nissan did a very good job with it and can make sick noises just like a 2JZ but sound wise nothing beats an LFA V10 some one should put that in a Supra

So crazy how similar it sounds to a 2j being an inline 6 but it's still so different at the same time. Especially inside the car and with them having a proper, not too crazy loud exhaust, it sounds just like a 2j

Sounds far from a 2jz. The RB26 sounds like half a V12. The 2jz sounds like a sporty camry. It was designed as a GT car engine anyway. For street use. The RB is an oversquare 9000rpm hitting inline 6. 2jz dies out after 6.8k. The 2jz is just loud and hits the limiter pretty fast. The RB has some meaty sound. It sounds angry.
