You remind me so much of myself 40 some years ago. I lived in a hand made cabin in the mountains of Colarado. Splitting wood for my cookstove on a stump right in the kitchen. The lifestyle set me up for a long and happy life. Now in my 70's my soul is full with the memories of doing the things I loved. Hope your's is just as full.
What a lovely memories to have! Wish all the best sir 🤍
Wow, where do you live now? You must have many stories!
lovely to know this, i hope one day i could lead a life like this.
You Sir are remarkable and awesome 😊❤
I'm going in this direction😊
Been off grid for 14 years now in the high desert forest. Water harvesting, solar, generator backup, Washer, dryer, microwaves, large oven, 3300 gal water storage, many options for cooking, rocket stove, No end to available wood, just getting too old to keep up anymore. Everyone has their own way to do it but almost anyone can do it if they want to. I've done it all alone after being given maybe a year or two to live because of all the health problems. That was 14 years ago! Doing this made me stronger and greatly extended my life expectancy. I really didn't believe I could survive it but now I'm feeling better than I ever have. It is very lonely however.
Be strong brother
Been deep OFF GRID for 3 years now, much respect young man.
Watching this keeps me sane. Living in a neighborhood with a job and a mortgage, this is the kind of content that makes it OK. You rock.
I cut off my thumb chopping wood exactly like how you did here. Not about to try and tell you or anyone how to chop, but watching you do that gives me the heebie jeebies to say the least!
Your work ethic is amazing!
A Hockey rink would be a really cool addition.
memories are so select.
i remember as a baby looking at my grandmothers cooking stove..
my mom had placed me by the stove in a basket.
i do not know the age i was, maybe three or so.
but i remember with clarity the fire crackling thru the air vent on the left side of the stove.
i remember the smell of burning wood, which today i love.
i remember the crackle and snapping as it burned.
the glow lit up the area.
i also remember the rest of the house was ice cold.
they would put me in bed in the next room, and pile blankets on me, then i would tunnel my way into it, and it was like a warm cave, built for me.
at 62, and a successful military career. i am far removed from that period of time.
just once, i would love to be able to experience that moment again.
all of it, the warm stove, the cold bedroom, the smells of cooking, and my mom and grandmother talking.
my mother taking me to the store for food.
the large wheel of cheese on the counter, barrels of candy, two for a penny.
i visit my home town at least once every two years.
i still drive by the old farm house, long gone.
Charles
Sweat Equity... nothing more rewarding. Salute young Brother!
The only thing about winter that is good.......beer stays cold......no bugs.....!
Yes you’re right lol. Do you love winter?
We have a predator generator, and we were flooded in 2022, all my husband did was drain the fluids and blow everything out, add new fluid and a new battery and it started on the first pull. Our shop had 18+ inches of mud and water run through it. We love it and will buy another when the time comes.
Living off grid is re-creating the late 1800's in style , and it's sweet . I was homeless at one point and except for not having a shower when you want it didn't bother me , it was camping full time.
Love you guys! ❤ thank you so much for sharing. Skeeter is adorable as always
Thanks Kyle!
He’s doing a great job
When Skeeter came up to you for some cuddles...SO freakin sweet! 🥰
@@Maricomich Hi 😊
The snow is so beautiful, I wish I could go there, my country doesn't have snow, I'm imagining what it would be like to work with snow
Your farm is getting more and more beautiful. In Brazil, people eat fried liver in many different ways, grilled as pate, I really like eating liver seasoned with lemon salt and then deep fried.
Hello friend 😊, a great learning day for me, good pot shelf, I eat beef interior, burgers never thought of it, I will try, it must be delicious, I like the recipe Hey, eat well and take care of yourself, 😋be blessed😊
How everything is going well for you. You have golden hands and you are a wonderful hostess.
Good morning, greetings from the coast of Guerrero Mexico, how beautiful 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Hello wonderful HUONG. Is there anything you don't know how to do? You are so wonderful to know 😊. Friendship from PARIS 🌹🌹🌹.
Y'all really might wanna consider checking into some wind turbines to augment your power production. Especially during winter months, seems the worse the weather gets, those wind turbines keep on producing power day and night, provided the wind is blowing. Anyways, there are some good diy turbine builds and something like that would be pretty easy to build given your skills. Would really come in handy to keep the chicken shed warm enough so the water wouldn't freeze.
Excellent ! Life is better when it's dog and cat supervised !
Haha true 😅.
Hi greetings George
Always enjoy your videos from sunny FloRida... Cheers
It is 74 degrees on the Gulf today. The Beachcomber
Love the way Skeeter idolized you. What a dog!
A True Minnesotan! Loved the Hockey rink comment. I played hockey on soooo many outdoor rinks growing up.
Nice to hear you played hockey 🏒 😊
Greetings to Jack
snow!
I wish I was you. Thank you for your videos
Argh!!! Using a #8 Red wing Crock for firewood! ($300.00+) WHAT!!! Use a bucket, please!
Can't wait to see you building the new cabin Good luck!

@@Maricomich thank you,may the blessings of God be to you
@@Maricomich Doing well,pray the same,have a MERRY CHRISTMAS 🌲🌲🙏
Always happy when your video drops. You have been really working on those logs. So excited to see the cabin start. Hey to Sierra.
The logs are looking sweet, so straight and tall. You've done an awesome job with the other cabins. This one will be special. Love what ya'll are doing 😊
I think you are a very smart young man and admire your work ethic .
I wish you and your lady, puppy dog and KitKat a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Love to do this in the Upper Peninsula but sadly I’m in the suburbs of Detroit
My wife used to yell at me every time I removed the ashes from the stove.. "THERE"S DUST FLYING EVERYWHERE".. So, I started lifting the bucket right in front, as close to the opening of the stove as possible and angled the lt as flat as possible... Then, placing the shovel at the bottom, I'd slowly shake the shovel side to side kind of like a pizza guy and his wooden peel, putting a new pizza in the oven. If the stove was hot almost all of the dust went up the flue. Even cold the majority was sucked up. Happy wife - - you finish it! 😁
1st timer. Really liked your way of presenting. Simple and straightforward. Passed on the important details well. Look forward to more.
Kyle you seem so smart and mature for your age . Most people your age are very lazy. Proud of you and the progress you've done on the property. 😊😊
Enjoyed again, Kyle Cierra and Skeeter
I really enjoy your videos. You work so hard Kyle.
Thanks Kyle!!
Kyle you have put out another good episode, and I can say what I appreciate most about your channel and your approach to life is the no nonsense way that you go about things never a bunch of fillers always str8 forward. I hope you and your family stay safe , healthy, happy in peace with joy and blessing 🙏
Skeeter out there living his best life. I wanna be Skeeter 😊 💜 🐾
Maybe should put sides on the shelter where your well pump is?
Kyle, if those trees are winter cut get a 3000 psi pressure washer it will debark those trees in minutes and you're left with a baby smooth finish on the logs.
Can't wait to see the building of the new cabin .
I’m sure it will be amazing.
Hi jack
Love your videos.....Looking forward to watch you build your cabin...
Great video Kyle....
Hey Kyle. I use a dual fuel generator that runs off gas or LP. I run it on just LP and love it. I have a 250 gal LP tank that I use for the generator but mostly for backup heat. Only fill it once a year. Costs around $400 a yr. The generator also has a remote start so in the AM I don’t have to get out of bed to start it…. Sweet. Thought I’d pass it along. Good luck with popple cabin. You worried about insects? Looks like your property was logged off about 30-40 yrs ago. Plenty of good sized trees for cabin.
Lol love the remote start! Smart.
If it's a system for back-up heat why would you not just plumb in a direct vent propane wall heater since that would be more efficient?
Definitely need to build the rink!!
Of course. I’m sure he will. Hockey 🏒 is awesome.
Hi Jeff
Im going to up north
Enjoy your vids.
He’s doing a great job. Hi Mike 👋
Looking good Kyle
I’m out here in Mankato MN and I have yet to see a cabin home.. my dream is to build one two story one from the ground up. Cozy and warm for my little family and I. Love watching the process😊
I love your animals ❤
So glad to see another one of your videos, Kyle. Always enjoy watching you and Cierra fulfilling your dream, and having more than one cabin. I cannot wait until it gets warmer so you can start building your other one. Skeeter is such a great dog and you’re so lucky to have him. I can tell he loves you so much.. Take care all of you.
Thank you! I always really enjoy the videos!!!
I'll be watching. Love to see your progress.
He’s doing a great job definitely. Greetings to you Gary 😊
Good for you man. God bless and great wishes.
Thanks Kyle for taking us along. Good to see kitty and love how Skeeter looks after you so well. He loves his human!😊 I really wish I could live this way but age and medical issues plus no way to have a homestead make it kind of sad some days. I can live vicariously through you guys. 😊😊
Always a good relaxing video at Kyle and Cierra's place.
Congratulations on your sale on your cabin by me. You did well on that deal. Good for you.
Did he sale the other cabin?
Ÿès he did sell it
Hi John
I was one of your first subscriber’s & I lived in Northern Mn. for years & appreciated everything you did & do. Love Ciera & Skeeter & kitty too. Your grandfather would be very proud of you Kyle!🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
Thanks Laura!
@@KYLESCABIN Thank you!🙏
Can't wait
I just love your videos. I hope when you get my age. (85) That you don't have to many aches and pains. I too love outdoor life and being close to God. Bless you and your family. The doggies and kitty. All brave, just like you.
I had a new well pump installed yesterday. They drilled a hole in the pipe about five feet below ground level so that it would drain when not pumping so as to avoid water freezing in the pipe. The tank was getting kind of low and I was worried about the water in there freezing, but I think I'm in the clear now.
I understand unplugging the well instead of a valve, but what are you going to do about the ice? A gallon spilled per day for the next 90 days….
I’m not sure what he’s going to do LOL
I want this so badly.
Nice seeing the snow. Suprise video Kyle. Everything is going great. And yea no more melting snow.
He’s doing a great job 😊.
Greetings to you William
Keep on keeping on Kyle 👍
Being from Northern MN myself, I couldn't agree more with the ice rink idea! Really enjoy your channel!
In Wisconsin I am building energy and food self-sufficient cabins with passive solar, solar panels, Gamera rocket stove, and getting "cut-offs" from local lumber mills that they just want to get rid of. I can heat a whole winter for $200 without cutting down a single tree. Small mini split for heating and cooling Spring-Fall. I am building with steel SIP's at $40/square foot with steel foundation, insulated walls and metal insulated shed roof. If your land has a low water table, you can possibly pound a well. Toilet Tech sells a composting toilet for $5K that can service 50 people a day, almost no maintenance. Other composting toilets are less $ but much more maintenance. Still beats spending $10-20K on a septic system. Start sourcing your own food and energy now while you can still set up systems.
Hard at work Kyle with Skeeter by your side. So sweet. I love seeing the chickens too! Happy you made it easier on yourself peeling the logs. Am I looking forward to you building your new cabin. I am sure it will be amazing! You have an awesome work ethic. So glad your well is working as expected to make your life a bit easier. Looking forward to your next video. Keep warm ♥️♥️
Love watching. your property is amazing. Can’t wait till you start working on the new cabin. Love your chickens and I definitely love your dog until your next video stay warm stay safe and God bless.
My predator generator is 7 years old still going strong. I replaced the carburetor on year five $18 from Amazon.👍
Champion generator is a very strong engine. 😊
Nice and neat. Can't see any clutter. 😊
Nice work
Good job brother.
Think about building a small log smoke house. Dry smoke some of the game and fish you catch!!
Yes the peditor gens are awesome I’ve got two of the 5000 one at the cabin and one here at home I need to go to my cabin but I’ve had medical issues but it’s getting better buddy I’ll be back in the groove soon lol !

Hey Kyle I guess I'd forgotten what the inside of your cabin looked like. Didn't you tear out some walls or something? Its looking quite spacious and really nice. Love your video! Hope to see you soon. Good luck with the new cabin.
He’s doing a great job.
Hi Joan
Welcome to a fellow minnestan. I am from Duluth
The inside of your cabin is so neat and organized. Love it. Can't wait to see what you build next. Peace Love Happiness
Awesome video really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work.
Very nice kyle. Getting that well put in is one of the best things you and your wife did. Fresh water right outside your front door is priceless
