    even though her paint was thinning and she looked neglected,she still looked beautiful. The last of the true golden age of liners. So sad....

      I took a tour on her many years ago. From a distance she was impressive, up close she looked like one tired out lady.

    I was on the last transatlantic crossing and it was so wonderful I had been on several other cruises on the Norway as well so sad that she could not have been saved there are no comparison’s with the modern ships today a true classic in every way

    I've taken one cruise in my life and that was on the Norway in 1991,the highlight of the cruise is when I went to the top deck of the ship between the funnels and watched the night sky,it was an incredible experience.

    Hommage a toi splendide bateau! Tu n'es pas oublié par ceux qui t'ont vu naitre, qui t'ont réalisé jour après jour jusqu'a son lancement et de ceux qui y ont travaillé dessus, merci!

    I made two crossings on the France in 1962. NYC to Southampton and LeHarve to NYC. Watching this I feel a personal sense of loss.

    C'est plus fort que moi, rien y fait, a chaque fois que revois cette belle et a la fois triste vidéo de ce somptueux navire qu'était le FRANCE , mon coeur se serre! Merci de lui avoir rendu un dernier hommage, merci pour lui et merci pour nous c'est vraiment triste qu'il ne soit plus ! J'ai eu l'occasion et ce, par deux fois lui rendre visite du moins son étrave au Havre! C'était plus fort que moi, il fallait que j'y aille, le voir, le toucher, le prendre en photo a coté de moi, c'était un moment émouvant , je le regardais longuement intensément avec émotion! Merci pour ce moment encore émouvant!

    Please come to America and start scrapping all of these useless pickup trucks. You can then use the metal to build another Norway.

      @Tommy chevy.s: This is a very understandable feeling. I wish with all my heart that S.S. Norway could have been saved. I wrote to NCL to thank them for all the years of service they provided with S.S. Norway and they never replied. How could anyone not really love her! One hopes with the eye of faith that nothing is ever truly lost as it is always a part of this great universe but it is naturally hard for those of us left behind. Very sad.

    • @orangeclay6487
      @orangeclay6487 3 года назад +1

      If I remember correctly, NCL back in the early 2000s was owned by another company called Star Cruises which tried to cut costs on maintenance as much as possible. NCL as an independent company did treat the ship kind of well, so I wonder how much longer the ship would have lasted if NCL had remained independent.
