    wait I just realised, MAKiT, there were 2 reasons ur Addition to quantum mechanics video blew up.
    1: the title was VERY well thought. almost clickbaity
    2: The intro was kind of appealing. It made you want to stick around to find out about the empty classroom
    I bet I can prove point 1 with your Click Through rate on that video, But for point 2, Viewer retention can be used but im sure it must be high throughout the video

    Just came across your channel and wow, i gotta say its really great! You definitely deserve a lot more views for the quality and effort put in. I think i know why it's not getting nearly as popular as it should be.
    I clicked on this video just because it mentioned scrap science, I couldn't actually figure out or understand what the video was going to be like from the title and thumbnail. It's such a broad and encompassing topic, so it could be about anything really. After I was 2 minutes into the video, I still didn't really understand the point of the video I had clicked on. Maybe that's because I'm not used to watching super informational videos, but I've watched plenty of Veritasiums videos and he's had similar styles before that I didn't struggle with. I think it would help if you did a quick intro to what is about to be shown and why. Some kind of hook. I know it's a bit more effort, but I think it could really help engage people on your videos

    • @MAKiTHappen
      @MAKiTHappen  3 месяца назад +5

      Thank you so much for the advice, you are right and I honestly only now realised that for this video I completely forgot to make a hook or an intro
      Glad you liked the video, and from now on I'll remember the advice

    • @mrgreenguy
      @mrgreenguy 3 месяца назад +4

      I just searched for the title of this video "chemistry for electricity", and scrolled down till I found your video right next to Veritasiums video about electricity. I haven't watched him in almost a year, so I'd say he's your main competition on RUclips. His title was "the big misconception about electricity". That title would outperform yours in several ways.
      - gets the viewer questioning what the misconception is, "what don't I understand about electricity? I know how that works! Don't I?... Maybe I should click and find out.."
      - His thumbnail very strongly compliments this with the phrase "energy doesn't flow through wires". He's telling the viewer that not only is there a big misconception, but actually the viewer themselves are wrong and doesn't tell them how to be right unless they click the video to find out. You'll notice that's how he starts most of his videos to get a hook. Just telling people they're wrong but not giving the full solution until they watch through the entire video. It prevents people from leaving until they know how to be correct. It feels unsettling and embarrassing to be wrong and so people stay until they're satisfied with themselves.
      - the use of the word "big" gives his title some weight and urgency to his claim too.
      Your title "chemistry of electricity", may be to the point, but i don't see much of a marketing strategy and it sounds confusing to what that means. I haven't watched most of this video, so apologies if my ideas aren't fitting to it, but something like "why chemistry is so complicated" or even just "how chemistry works" would probably be a lot easier to understand. "How chemistry and electricity work together"? Using the words, "how" and "why" communicates to the viewer that it's probably an educational video they're clicking on where you're going to answer some things or show how something works. The original title doesn't provide that. The thumbnail is also kinda dark and probably won't stand out in the crowd of brightly lit RUclips thumbnails unfortunately.
      I think your video is amazing, but a lot of people won't find it if it's not marketed to the audience properly. I hope these thoughts help!
