Thanks for the video. I’ll never go there and I’m fascinated with it and the history. I always wondered exactly what it looked like .

I moved to Whitefish, MT in the spring of 1982. worked in radio/TV. spent most of the next 35+ years hiking/climbing/biking/camping/fishing/floating Glacier Park and the surrounding area.
THERE WAS NO 'FIRE SEASON', per se, in the the 80's and 90's. there were fires in the late summer, but few, and they were generally managed well. 1988 was the Red Bench fire up the North Fork and 1990's had few major fire closures or smoke filled months.
then the 2000's hit. nearly ever other year. major fires. 2001. 2003. 2007. and on......
the frequency of fires is a direct result of climatic changes. temps are much higher since 2000 than they were in the 80's and 90's. August was never 90+ for 3 weeks in the 80's and 90's. the standing joke in the Flathead valley until 2000 was that it always rains during the county fair - which is mid August - and it did it seemed.
watching Glaciers disappear wasn't my expectation when i moved to Montana, but it became a slow reality the longer i stayed.
    now it has "FIRE SEASON'.

Reading The Night of the Grizzlies brought me here. Sad stories, beautiful place.

Thank you - great tour! Sure hope that the fires are gotten under control or the rain or snow arrives to protect this wonderful landmark! Very unique and so special!
