I agree: It could be an interesting addition for someone who already has a regular set of watercolors, if they do not need to rely on professional quality. And I also think that this set could be very fun and useful for someone who is into mixed media and does not have a lot of art supplies yet - This set would be a good way to get ahold of new colors, ones that are not totally standard, for a low price. I think that's great for beginners, or also for people who want to try something new without having to spend a lot of money. I loved watching you paint the landscape, and how you included so many of the colors from the set. It looks very lovely!
Hiii. Thank you. I think sets really are made for specific users so I'm happy to have this platform to help show the differences as well as the highs and lows of these sets. I try to include atleast 6 colors from each review's sample painting to show more of the range's performance. However i personally use less for my tutorials and personal paintings. 🎨😊
i was looking for good but low budget student grade watercolor tubes and so far I've only stumbled on your channel for most of watercolor reviews, i love how you make each contents so informative sir, hoping to see more
Nice job Alan! Watching the swatches I was; nope just nope I couldn't. Lol. I'm looking at making a Van Gogh pallet for fun . I have a Rembrandt half pan set of 48 but the tubes are very pricey. I have a couple Van Gogh tubes that dry nicely into pans and for sketchbook a set would be nice. I'm going back in your Playlist to check out your review. Thanks Alan.💜
Hi Annette. The opacity of this set is really noticeable. 😆 VanGogh paints are definitely cool and good for your sketchbook. I have review of the 12-3 VanGogh and the 20 new colors in tubes and the Rembrandt 12 pans. All are great. Have fun. 🙏🎨😊
2nd accnt ko to, my pinag iipunan po ako na watercolour sa shop nyo lang ma bibili 😂 sana my tutorial ka po for beginners honestly ang ganda talaga ng mga paint works nyo po na a amaze talaga ako kaya pa ulit ulit ako nanunuod ng mga tutorials nyo po. Happy Sunday po and god bless ❤️
As I have changed my palettes over the years I have colors I don't use but I keep them and make pastels out of them to paint for fun. Either that or I make them pearlescent. No waste and I get to have fun when I just want to play around. So no need to intentionally buy any pastel or opaque colors.
Hello, i didnt like this white yellow and the pink color in this set and i have a request if you make review on liquide watercolors inside a bottle like dr. ph martin or ecoline
yes those colors are very pale. ive been thinking about trying these liquid watercolors.. a brand that's accessible at the moment is the by Royal Talens. maybe ill check it out 1st..
So happy I accidentally found your videos po (when i was researching for winsor and newton china 😃). I’ve been following tutorials/guides on youtube and I’m glad I found one made by pinoy.
I've been watching your videos few days from now, because I feel frustrated to find a good quality watercolor, and i learned some watercolor techniques and terms from your channel ,Thank you so much❤
hello Sir, you are very talented and I love your content...ang galing galing talaga ng pinoy! I love the colors you chose. Thank you for the information you shared and review..You surely will help a lot of artist on choosing a better watercolor brand for their artworks.
Thank you for the kind words, Ms. Lara 🙏🎨 When JayR posted your link, i checked on your live session and enjoyed your show. Wish you all the luck and I'm also looking forward to more shows. And thanks for singing some of our requests. 😉
Hiii. For the Schmincke, Sennelier, Maimeri and Dailer Rowney, i already have tubes and pans and they're on the bay for review. 😊 For the Grumbacher, I've reviewed the Academy version here, please check it out. For liquid inks, I'm yet to weigh my options as most of them are in sets and not as cheap as compared to tubes and pans sets. But id like to cover them too, so there's a huge chance. 😊🎨🙏
Could you please do another colour showdown sometime? With the amount of sets you've already tested, it's hard to keep track of how the sets differ from each other. Which is also important for beginners, I think, who find your channel. I could imagine that some are quite overwhelmed with the number of sets. For me, for example, it is important to know how strongly the colours in a set run when wet on wet.
That'd be a good idea. I'm thinking of doing mini-versus videos to compare some sets at a closer look. It's really overwhelming. Even I, get overwhelmed. Haha. But i think it is important to always watch the entire review, say for some beginners and anybody who are keen to a certain paint behaviour. I mention and discuss my thoughts along the way, towards the end. To summarize though, cheaper paints ten to move alot slower to not moving at all. I guess these are more intended to beginners who aren't as adept yet to flowy paints as compared to pros or even intermediates. But still at the end of the day, it's still a matter of preference.
Thankyou, ideal for use in my Stained glass colouring books the ones that have a black border and you could hang for a short time in a window. What would be a good choice for a light fast watercolour paint that would be great for this type of Art., that is so it wouldn’t fade in the light when hung in window?🌟👏🌈
Hi Alan. I'm from Malaysia. Here we have one watercolor are made in Malaysia. The brand is Buncho Watercolor. And it use widely here because of the price is affordable. Would like to see your review about it.
I kinda like the palette especially the orange (that reminds me of my Windsor and Newton one, the violet and the perylen maroon - like brown, I just wonder how useful it would be as a standalone with all those pastel colours in it that honestly could easily be mixed with the titanium white that's on the palette anyway. I probably wouldn't be tempted to buy these unless they'd completely blow me out of my seat - which they didn't. I got too many real decent brands here in Europe that would probably cost me less and which I don't have to have shipped halfway around the world. Van Gogh, which is one of my all-time favourite student grade brands is Dutch and the Betherlands are literally a direct neighbour to my German home country and even the White Night ones are real easy to get by, just as many artist brands. So, a pass it would be for me ^^'
Yeahh. I definitely agree. This set is really specifically serving beginners on a budget who also have direct access to the paints. Much more, not recommended for artists who live in Europe which is the Mecca of quality watercolor paints. 😉🎨 VanGogh is so good as student grades so it's also a top choice for me. White Nights as well, for me is my most recommended entry artist grades, best for transitioning artists from intermediate to pro. I'm happy to be doing these reviews as aside from it's very satisfying, it gives me way to show artists which set is best for them and which might not be. 🎨😊
Naalala ko tuloy yung pinapangarap ko dating 100ml oil paint tubes ng Mont Marte na hindi ko mabili kasi mahal, pero gamit ko ngayon watercolor na 5ml parehas ng presyo 🤣
Hello po, I'm new to arts, as in days old pero super interested po ako sa watercolor. Anong watercolor sketchbook po kaya ang mare-recommend niyo? Yung affordable po sana since student pa lang po ako.
Hahah. For me, there are average priced or even very cheap brushes that perfor really well. SilverBlack Velvet holds a lot of water and paint but it is also not free from curving in time being a partly synthetic brush..

Your reviews are as well thought, informative and thorough as they are relaxing. Very pretty sample paintings, too. Have a great week. V.
Thank you Valerie for the beautiful praises. 🙏 Happy painting! 😉🎨🥰

That's actually a good point. But yeah, my reply is too late to point out. 😊 😄

Sadly, I think this set might fade as there is no guaranty theyre lightfast.. no pigment codes to check too. best way is to test it your own. :)

Speaking of pastel colors, will you review other brands with pastel colors like Prima Marketing/Art Philosophy?
I've reviewed the Tropicals.. if i get extra money, i might get the sets. 🤞😊
Burgundy very beautiful colour🤤😲😍
It is! 🥰

Same feels 😭 how to have the skills 😭
Have you thought of virtual teaching classes?
I had.. but I'm too busy with work now.. but I'd really love to teach. 🙏
I use them when there in season.
Makes sense. I wish we have more seasons here too other than rainy and summer.
You have more watercolors than anyone on earth!, lol. I thought I had a lot 😂.... By the way, you paint beautiful paintings.
Me : Googling "silver...black...velvet...travel brush."
Also me : nope.... ( ;_; ) Oh hey this princeton is a bit cheaper tho!
