Of course Miami needs to run the football-and will, as that's always been Cristobal's brand as an o-lineman and dude who coached under Saban four years-and of course the Canes need to limit turnovers at The Swamp and score early to take the home crowd out of it. Maybe if they have more points than the home team when the clock hits 0:00 they'll win, too?
And talking about Sam Brown and JoJo Trader being the biggest receiving threats-without bringing up go-to Xavier Restrepo and veteran Jacoby George over a transfer and a true freshman-seems you need to be better get acquainted with this roster. Ward also rushed for eight touchdowns last year and threw for 25, so he found the end zone more than "a few times"-and news flash, when Florida has the football an Trey Wilson is on the field, Rueben Bain is STILL the best player out on that field. Lastly, Miami's offensive line against Florida's defensive line is the key to this game.
The Canes have shored up the o-line under Cristobal and Mirabel the past two seasons and this is a big step-forward year; if Miami's o-line is winning those battles with Florida's d-line, it's going to be a long day for "The Gator"-27-17, Canes with a hefty dose of Martinez, Allen and some Wheatley-Humphrey to round it out.
@Canes305 Rueben played 12 games last year and was tabbed freshman All-American DL. Tre Wilson, also named to that squad, only played 5 games. So, yeah, I think he might have the slight edge.
Based solely on how the media has hyped up Miami and deflated Florida, UF has the advantage. Both rosters are very talented with perhaps a slight edge to UM. But, Florida has absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain, whereas Miami has nothing to gain other than bragging rights. Plus, Florida gets this game at home? I think it’s truly either team’s game, but Miami is going to have to execute perfectly to win. 34-31 ‘Canes 🙌🏼
