Napier's comments are hurtful not only sports fans but especially college football fans. The communities are the lifeblood of many of these programs and while you can't please every single fan all of the time, they were there long before you and will be there long after you're gone. And they will raise their families to continue to support the programs long after a coach is gone.

I don’t think Florida can afford to fire Billy Napier. They are still paying previous coaches. He has to start DJ and use this as a learning year because of the schedule. Now next year……
I cannot be enjoying this anymore than I am. 3 years ago I commented congrats you just got Derek Dooley at Florida and boy was I criticized for it. Now look at what I get to enjoy
Florida has had FOUR really solid coaches, with experience at Power-5 schools since Urban Meyer left in 2010, none of them lasting longer than 3-years. The problem might very well be the culture at Florida, or the fan base, or the boosters, or the AD. Just think about it. Meyer left and 'popped up' at Ohio State. He didn't wait for something to open in Gainesville and there could be a reason behind that. IDK. But I tell you this...UF is becoming a place to avoid for up and coming coaching prospects, so be careful before you start calling for Napier to be fired.
To the guy defending Mullen at the 8 minute mark, Dan got fired for a number of reasons. There are a dozen little things that could be mentioned, but the headlines are retaining Todd Grantham (a lame duck DC that was very obviously not good enough and potentially cost us a Natty in 2020) and abysmal recruiting that we're just starting to recover from. Dan's an incredible offensive mind, but he was in over his head at Florida just like Billy.
I LOVE Coach Napier!! But he may not be a "head coach". He was a fantastic recruiter along with a wide receiver coach while he was at Bama!! Yea, you can't EVER, EVER, EVVVEERRR criticize fans! THAT IS A HUGE NO-NO!! PLUS, people get their feelings hurt over just about anything. Another huge reason you can't say anything about fans! I wish the very best for Coach Napier! It's time to sever ties with Florida!
Over his head. 2 plus years and I have seen enough. This High School coach should have never been hired. This is going to be a long season and the way I see it, UF will not be better than UGA, BAMA, LSU, Mizzou, Texas. Ole Miss, Tenn. for years to come. There you have it. Want to compete for Championships? It is not happening.
this is what florida gets for hiring a “program builder” from university of Louisiana. Florida is such a well of untapped potential and they choose crums from the table
Oh stop ... NOT to defend Napier, because he has lost his fan base in an unpardonable way. BUT let's be serious: EVERYONE in FL knows that there are NO basements in Florida; the phrase about sitting/hiding/hanging out/living etc in a basement IS A METAPHOR. Nah. This is different. He definitely talking about Polkway lmao
😂😂😂😂
I am 54, and I have been a Gator fan since my father, a UGA grad, took me to the UGA/UF game when I was 8 years old. With that said, I think UF should not only fire Billy, but also the moron who hired him. We really screwed the pooch with this hire. 😢🤬😡
I don’t think Florida can afford to fire Billy Napier. They are still paying previous coaches. He has to start DJ and use this as a learning year because of the schedule. Now next year……
BASEMENT BILLY. 4-8 this year.
Umm find me 4 wins .. after what I saw on display in the swamp I am seeing 2 and 10
@@bryanfletcher6388 2-10 could be right
I cannot be enjoying this anymore than I am.
As a UK fan, I hope he never leaves.😅
To the guy defending Mullen at the 8 minute mark, Dan got fired for a number of reasons. There are a dozen little things that could be mentioned, but the headlines are retaining Todd Grantham (a lame duck DC that was very obviously not good enough and potentially cost us a Natty in 2020) and abysmal recruiting that we're just starting to recover from.
Dan's an incredible offensive mind, but he was in over his head at Florida just like Billy.
Mr Ben Hill Griffin himself was a “rural Central Florida guy.” Obviously….HE mattered!!!
Napier should be getting a call from the AD to clear out his stuff this afternoon , can't go after the fans.
One of Greeny's best rants
I'm loving this Florida turmoil.
"No coach goes after the fans and gets it back again." Tell that to Nick Saban
this is what florida gets for hiring a “program builder” from university of Louisiana. Florida is such a well of untapped potential and they choose crums from the table
I lived right next to campus at UF and my house had a basement 🤷♀️
Born and raised in central Florida. Live on ridge NW of Orlando. We have a basement. Yes, it is definitely a curiosity to anyone from here.
How hard is it keeping moisture out? Was it there when you bought it, or did you build it?
Oh stop ... NOT to defend Napier, because he has lost his fan base in an unpardonable way. BUT let's be serious: EVERYONE in FL knows that there are NO basements in Florida; the phrase about sitting/hiding/hanging out/living etc in a basement IS A METAPHOR. He lives in FL by virtue of coaching there -- he has no basement in his house either, and is well aware of it !!!
When UCF wins in the swamp this season, 100% he loses his job right after.
As another Isaac, I concur 😁
He may not last that long
There are actually basements in clermont Florida
Yep. Higher elevation there. Some in the panhandle also.
So...not Gainesville?
@@MikeHarvey-ol7xr haha probably too low
He's from Chatsworth, Ga but he was born in Cookeville. GO VOLS!!!
He can claim both as his hometown.
