I was a closet watcher of Inspector Gadget. My friends gave up cartoons and I still watched. Inspector Gadget was a fun show that had some genuinely funny moments. I think its the first time that I remember the kids being smarter than the adult characters. Now it is the standard.

So weird I saw this without looking it up...I was just telling my 6 year old daughter about this toy. How excited I was to own it, how I saved my money, and ultimately how I broke it nearly immediately after I opened it. Haven't seen this toy since that day.

I remember the series was aired on the sky channel back in 1985/86, fun cartoon that I loved to watch back then. A neighbourhood mate in the same street as me, had this quirky cool figure, one of his american relatives brought it over for him, from the states, as a present. I think it was the more better sculpted & technical Bandai, but can't recall exactly if it was the Bandai or the Galoob Version.Still an awsome figure, that probably was short lived With a limited market, & with the cartoon series being more popular than the toys themselves..

YES! I found him and a ARAH Zartan in a toys R us in Alabama in the 80s, a few years after both should have been long gone. This is a solid figure, if only he had a nemesis.

This was one of my favourite toys as a kid. I wanted it sooooo badly and it was so worth the wait when I got it. That projectile hand though... 😂 I can remember losing it so often that I can't even recall if the one it had in the end was a replacement or the original. Alas, it's long gone now but I have fond memories of it.

There was a whole toy line for this show in the US. They were about 5" tall. Each figure had a gimmick or theme to highlight a couple of Gadget's gadgets. Even his transforming car was made, I believe. While they are collectible, this larger figure is the most desired.

I remember having this toy when I was young. Inspector Gadget was one of my favorite shows growing up. I asked my Old Man about this and he remembers getting it for me because apparently this toy was the hottest release around Christmas time when it came out. He ended up traveling 5 hours to a larger city and having to fight his way into the store to get one when it released.

Enjoyed Inspector Gadget as a kid. Its said he was based as a cross between Inspector Clouseau & Max Smart. His nemesis, the Claw seems to have inspired Ernst Stavro Blofeld of SPECTRE, the nemesis of James Bond 007.

Way back in ye olden days when I was a London copper, we got into a foot chase one night duty. There were about four of us chasing this suspect who was much quicker than us and so the PC at the front of the chase suddenly shouted out "Go Go Gadget torch" and threw his torch at chummy. I had already started laughing at this point, but then his torch hit a wall and just disintegrated. Basically, four out of breath Bobbies are now wetting ourselves laughing.
    Chummy got away.
PC was forever onwards known as PC Gadget.
Chummy was arrested some days later.
PC "Gadget" eventually got promoted to Sergeant and our paths never crossed again. I often wondered if he ever made it to Inspector and if he still had the nickname.
True story. Thanks for reminding of that one mate.

We stopped at a Toys r Us after I got out of the hospital when I was about 4 or 5. I was allowed to pick any one toy (within reason). I narrowed it down to Inspector Gadget and Optimus Prime. I chose Prime and that started a huge Transformers collection. No regrets on that, but it I’d still love to track down one of these.

OMG I knew I should stick with your channel, this is crazy cool!
I feel like a doofus. I'm born and raised in Montreal. Essentially, French Canada.
I was a huge fan of the show and still remember my father, hooking up a pirated "First Choice" , Canadian movie channel.
It's how I got to see Cannonball run, over 100 times. LoL
Anyway, as soon as my Dad attached the box to the T.V. Inspecror Gadget was the first thing I saw!!
It was mid episode, so I watched it again later.but I remember my Father telling my about Get Smart and Don Adams, the comedic genius!
So I landed up seeing every episode and was just starting to have my interest wane , when I saw a commercial for the figure in your video.
I got it for Christmas that year and still remember opening and playing with it all night. Everyone of be siblings and cousins wanted to play with it!
It was an amazing toy, with so many cool features!!
But like you said, there were no enemy figures, to fight with.
As I'm sure you know, the main adversary was Dr. Claw, who we never got to see, in full profile.
He had a cat, like a Bond villian and may have been a robot Cat but they never told us :(
So without any enemies and being too young, to realise future value. He went in the toybox and I haven't seen him, since the early 90's.
Maybe I'll find him at a boot sale one day. Incomplete I'm assuming. Lol
But seriously, thanks for bringing back some memories and teaching me that the show was created in my home city!
    Wowzers, Indeed!!
This message may selfdestruct, in ten years.
So no worries, you'll be fine :)
Merci encore. Thanks again, you rock, my friend.

you could buy the Super Ted Teddy Bear back in the 80's. it looked like an ordinary Teddy Bear with a zip going down his chest. you undid the zip and peeled of the bears fur to reveal the Super Ted outfit underneath.
