I wish my hair held curls for more than a few minutes. 😢
I had to get my hair permed in order for my hair to hold a curl. I still have issues with heat curls sometimes.
I use texture spray to hold a curl and it helps.
Try a roller set

I usually use a half inch, but its just to match the wavy and straight patches to the rest of my curls 😂
I have super curly nappy ass hair. I use the 1 inch and let them fall throughout the week. And just twist it into a high bun to keep the wavy curly in it when I go to bed.
I prefer to use my straightener for my curls ❤

so if i have long, (REALLY) thick hair, and i want to do softer curls, the 1 1/2 inch would be good?
I think it depends on how well your hair holds a curl. My hair doesn’t hold a curl too well. I have long medium hair that’s thick. And I use 1 and 1/4 and it falls so it seems softer. If I use 1 and 1/12 it looks like I brushed out day 3 or 4 curls without touching them up. It doesn’t look bad but it’s really all about preference and how your hair is when it’s curled

I have naturally straight as a board hair that is so thick that it does not take long for the weight to pull the curl out and I have a few friends that has the most beautiful naturally curly hair and almost always straighten and I am always asking them "Why almost all the time?"! I understand straightening every once in a while for a change up. I guess we always want what we don't have. 😂

I use a flat iron to curl my hair and I have course (very thick) hair but I use a certain brand as well and it keeps my hair curled..yhu jush need the right products and know how to use them not always a curling iron is needed to curl yhur hair loves..

I always see blondes with straight hair. What about red and curly. I have red hair that I never dyed, thick, and curly hair and it's such a pain to do anything with because it never sticks. Can't use flat iron because half way through the day the curls start to show.

I have a curling iron for my hair but my hair is so straight no matter what I do it won’t curl right and the curls fade in less then 2 seconds I don’t know what to do I want my hair to look poofy and curly but it just doesn’t happen

What if you have REALLY long hair? Like down to the top of your butt long, what size should I use to define my perm wave?
Probably a 1 1/4 inch or a 1 1/2 iron. A 1 inch will create tighter curls on you and might be difficult to use.
