From what I've been hearing, not only is a new SaGa game currently in the works, but remasters of SaGa Frontier 2 and Romancing SaGa 1.
Theyre working on it lets all support this series please!!!

I saw a tweet one time that the producer is considering a demake for Minstrel Song but that’s a maybe
That game was alright I suppose but it didn't feel like a sequel. Story was similar to FF Tactics(I actually played SF2 before FFT).
Want a new Saga Frontier game with futuristic story setting and new characters and new story
First Romancing SaGa 2 & 3 then the SaGa Final Fantasy Legend Trilogy and now this! Now all we need is SaGa Frontier 2 and Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song. And we will be good to go!

Never played the franchise but bought this game out of the sheer respect that the passionate fans inspire. I will play it and I hope the support of a newcommer helps for more projects to come 😊

Only in Japan
Physical release was moved to May 31 for asia. Was confused why there are no physical copies on release day as well.

I think the rights to those games may belong to monolith soft the ip is complicated to remaster or even make again because the rights are shaky

Never played it during the 90s I was too stuck with final fantasy since the snes ... love the art style ... was this for ps1 or Saturn ?

I remember getting this game and playing it on the ps3 didn't get very far I got lost at the city part on red's story not to mention I was a bit confused with the story but seeing this with its new features you can bet I'm buying this!
damn this game was doing a lot during the time, also props on the remaster here the additional features are awesome would love to see more companies do more then just a graphics update to older classics

With all these remasters, why isn't there any Chrono Trigger talks?! Personally, I think it is the best jrpg I have ever played and I think would do awesome on the switch. Same with Star Ocean: The Second Story.

Every time I see the logo for this game I keep reading Saga as "Salsa"

I'm glad for any old schools making their way onto modern consoles.
Question: is Blue’s story actually done now?
Technically it's always been done.
However, Fuse's side of the story DOES actually add a small epilogue.
Yeah Blue/Rouge ending in the original was sadly intentional on the part of the writers; no idea why. I'm glad they added more in the remaster though, it was always unsatisfying and felt devoid of real closure in contrast to other characters.
I would love if FF6 got this treatment.
I feel like each of these heroes could have a fully fleshed out game to themselves and still be a lot more original than a lot of JRPGs that come out these days. I love JRPGs, but I am having a hard time with cliche stories like Bravely Default 2.

I was super skeptical. Especially considering how hit or miss Squenix's games are for me. But I think I might give this a shot. The music and dialogue seem interesting... heres hoping its good. (Probably will pick up in june when I'm done with the games I have now).

Hey Saga fans! Question what game is a good place to start and make good impressions? I am really interested in this ‘changing story’ feature they mention in every game. I do fear they don’t mention it enough in this game. What do y’all think?
That depends. Do you mean what character to start with or what game in the SaGa franchise to start with?

@@hiddenflare6169 It depends, if you want a more guided experience with less aimless roaming start with SaGa 1,2,&3 on the collection, on the other hand if you're want to screw around for potentially hours exploring every nook and cranny of the galaxy then play SaGa Frontier.
@@dr.velious5411 I see, Frontier is a bit more open. Both options seem good tho. I was wondering how the story choice options was like do we have much power in that overall or is that something a bit misadvertised? Like can you change the story with your choices like the trailers say or get a different ending or something?
@@hiddenflare6169 Not all the characters have multiple endings as far as I know, Asellus route has multiple ends, as does Blue's route, and it seems that while playing Fuse's route the player is capable of derailing the plots of other characters or something.

I bought this game and it is singlehandedly the most confusing game I have ever played in my life.
In a gameplay sense?
It's basically an open world game with really weird mechanics that don't explain themselves. There is an in- game manual they added to this version that actually has a decent amount of info in it but you might want to check out a let's play or something first if you're not used to the weird experimental PS1 JRPG era lol

This game is good? I emulated the Ps1 version and I had chosen Lute and it was one of the most confusing gamed that i ever played, but i still want to play because i like retro jrpg
Funny enough Lute was probably the worst choice for a first character. I haven't played his story but I believe his is basically 100% open world with no direction and you can even head straight to the final dungeon immediately.
It's a very weird game and I actually do like it but you enjoying it kinda depends on how tolerant you are of experimental PS1 era jank. There's an in- game manual in the remaster and a story menu that lets you know where your character's next plot event is.
My advice is to take a look at a little bit of a let's play to get a better idea. There's a channel called Last Protagonist that has been streaming it and he knows how the game is played and was able to show it off a little better than someone playing blind. It convinced me to buy it.

Today I learned it's pronounced "Black Cross" and not "Black Ex".
It's both. In the original Japanese, it was cross. And in English, it was X. Cross sounds more sinister to me, so I like that they called it that.

Retro Octopath vibes. I dig it
Yeah the multiple stories around different characters thing had been done a few times before Octopath in the RPG genre, Saga frontier (1997) is one, Trials of Mana/Seiken Denetsu 3 (1995) is another.
Psyched for this remaster of an old classic though, never got to play it, but Trials of Mana is great, recommend that one as well if you like Octopath Traveller.
Its 1000 times better than Octo can ever be
