    This is awesome! I'm writing a story about a guy who gets sent back and time and starts playing modern songs on lute in the dark ages. I was looking up covers of modern songs on lute and can't believe stairway to heaven didn't pop into my head immediately. It's basically written in a medieval style. This was incredible!

    Man, this is amazing. I had the players in my D&D campaign come upon a bard singing your version of Stairway. Another of that NPC's songs was Steve Winwood's solo acoustic version of "John Barleycorn (Must Die)". Yes, you are up there with Steve Winwood in my opinion.

    Beautiful, but I have to ask: This is the Led Zepin song you picked? Misty Mountain Hop!
    With videos like this, I had to look why you don't thave more subs. So first I added my own (95!) then I noticed you don't have many of this type of vid. This is incredible, and I hope to see more! I love classic rock on medival instruments. The sounds are so distinctive and I can't believe the range you pulled out of that Lute. And able to sing as well!

      Haha the first Zep song I did on lute was actually Going to California. This just happened in one day when I got bored 😏 I will keep doing more soon! The masters degree is a bit demanding/not letting me do my fun projects 😒 thanks for subscribing!

    Wow, you're so talented! I'be never actually seen a person play a lute before, & from photos, I'd always assumed they were much larger & had a longer neck, so this was interesting

      Thank you! There are many different kinds of lutes ranging all different sizes. This one is an 8 course (15 string) renaissance lute. Theorbos are quite large and here is a 13 course (24 string) baroque lute ruclips.net/video/3wa72QSro30/видео.html

      Thank you! The biggest difference, other than amount of strings, is the tuning. 13-course is in Dm. The first 6 courses are tuned to an open Dm chord. Then the diapasons are tuned diatonically depending on the key of the piece. 8-course is tuned in 4ths closer to a guitar :)

      @@paltieri11 Sadly, it is pretty much necessary to have both. The baroque lute scale length is quite a bit larger which would make the "old tuning" quite difficult. Plus with the tuning differences, one would have to transcribe the renaissance tablature into the Dm tuning.

    Real question my dude, where do you get the music tabs/sheet music for the Lute on songs like this? As it's a niche instrument I've had a lot of issues finding it.
    I'm a beginner player so, any tips appreciated

      Great question! Sadly, transcriptions like this don't really exist (at least for the general public). After playing this for years on guitar it wasn't so difficult to do some minor adaptations. First tip I'd give you is to explore and to find similarities to what you already know and add to it. I'd be happy to help more. Feel free to fire questions!

      Nah.. you can use a guitar with the 3rd string tuned down to F# instead of G.. then put a capo on the 3rd fret. It's not exactly like a lute but it would be the same tuning! I'd love to help out
