The problem with Indian military development is that there are a lot of "we will" "we would" "in the future" but these plans rarely gets realized on time and on budget. India's Tejas fighter was convinced in 1983, with first flight in early 2000s. The IAF placed orders in 2010, and 15 years later in 2025, HAL still haven't fulfill its initial 40 orders while China built 300 J-20 fighters between 2017 and 2024. The manufacturing capabilities and technological foundation between China and India is so large that Indian cannot simply checkmate China by owning a port, as China always has other solutions ready, so the deterrence just isn't there. I wish India good luck, but they need to forge their economic foundation first before announcing grand plans.
Did you said 300 j20 fifth generation fighter jets in 7 years??? 😂 😂 😂
Even china doesn't claim that!
Where do you get your information from?
You know the funny thing is 10 years back west was also saying the same thing for china. India just need to work on it with determination and India is already is serious and is in the proper course.
India just wants to deter aggression from China. And due to nukes, China is afraid of invading India. Fighter jets don't matter when you have nukes and delivery systems.
Minimal credible deterrence is India's policy. They will have to become an arms exporter if they want to allocate more money to defence.

some more information
1- A&N islands now host 4 airport/air base/airfield and a 5th one as part of naval base is being planned in Galathea Bay as part of Great Nicobar project.
2- While navy's share in defence budget is low the overall budget is now at ~80 billion USD. That is why as we speak around 60 vessels are under construction including 9 frigates, 6 missile vessels, 16 small corvettes, 5 tankers, 2 SSBNs, 11 OPVs. There needs to be a documentary on Chinese influence behind ethnic tensions in Manipur-a state bordering India where separatist movements are said to be used to slow the country down. The northern route is about 5,000 miles shorter than the southern route through the Indian Ocean. Russia currently has one nuclear-powered icebreaker, with four more on the way. Once they are completed (with Chinese investments), China could theoretically only be checkmated by Russia. However, that is rather unlikely within the next 20 years.
And once the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline is completed, China will no longer have to transport a massive amount of oil via sea routes. That would give them even more strategic options.

You are missing some key points:
1. India has hypersonic. Both short range Pralay (upto 500km) and long range LRAsHM (1500km). They can take down any threats including carriers. Plus supersonic Brahmos. So eventhough India's naval numbers are small, since India has homecourt advantage, India can knock out any invading ships. If China starts a war with India, India can takedown all the critical infrastructure of Tibet and kick them out for good. Its a risk that they wont dare to take.
2. India controls Sittwe port in Myanmar
3, Agni MIRV - this was the key. China backed off after India tested the MIRV. Since then, China has adopted to "proxy warfare only" strategy behind the scenes and making warm overtures of friendship.
4. PLAN has been contained by supplying supersonic Brahmos to Philippines and Indonesia. May be Vietnam too. Brahmos has the capability to neutralize a carrier. Taking down a carrier using proxies will severely dent PLANs advances
All of these point to the fact that China has been relegated to a regional power, not a global power. China wont dare to cross into the Indian Ocean. As they say, Indian Ocean is India's Ocean.

As a Canadian I wonder if there really is a split between India and China. I mean BRICS is an alliance with India and China that is supposed to upset the western global order. It looks to me like for the number of people and their proximity to each other, they are doing pretty well together with minimal fights between them. I could be wrong though.
BRICS isn't an alliance, it's more of a talk shop with a bit of economic cooperation - comparable to the Commonwealth (which India is also a member of). In both cases, India is sharing membership with nations it's probably gritting its proverbial teeth over. The people promoting BRICS as some geopolitical force that's a rival to the West are usually repeating Kremlin or CCP talking points who want to make it seem like there are more people on their side than there really are.
India's geopolitics are... complicated, but when push comes to shove, its main security concerns are Pakistan (weaker, but more proximate) and China (currently stronger, but the Himalayas means that neither side can really throw everything into a direct conflict). Formally, India takes a stance of neutrality, and membership in Chinese-led groups like BRICS and Shanghai is offset by membership of Western groups like the Commonwealth and the Quad (US-India-Japan-Australia). Informally, India has historically regarded the Soviet Union as the closest thing they had to an ally because during the Cold War, the Soviet Union was the counterbalance to both China after the Sino-Soviet split and to Western support of Pakistan. Today, though, India's main security concerns are still Pakistan and China, but the wider geopolitics have shifted - Pakistan is now more of a Chinese client than a Western one (Pakistan playing both sides in Afghanistan led to the West losing patience for them, and the Taliban hasn't exactly rewarded them for it either), and Russia has already shown signs of being pushed into being China's junior partner, however much they don't want to admit it. Which means that the main counterbalance that India now has against its primary security concerns is... the West.
They haven't completely abandoned Russia yet, but I think part of their motivation there is to delay Russia from falling completely into China's equipment until India has had the opportunity to replace their military's reliance on Russian equipment with a mix of Western and home-made equipment. They can't afford to have Russia regard them as hostile until that's reached a point where there is no longer a vulnerability, but I think the Indian political class know which way the geopolitical winds are blowing (even though a lot of Indians who post in comment sections still think of Russia as India's best friend). Even now, the Quad is probably the closest thing India has to an alliance, since the Quad is based around cooperation on strategic issues rather than mostly economic ones (but even there it's important to stress that it's not actually a formal military alliance and in the foreseeable future India will probably resist joining any such organisation that would involve unequivocally picking a side, even though it's an open secret that the Quad is mostly aimed at China).
Bro you might not understand usa dominates canada that's why so called ally status of canada but that's not how world works
India is a blue water navy now and currently also exanding their millitary capabilities especially in Navy exponentially and not to forget their strategic advantage in Indian Ocean too which they dominates makes India a very powerful millitary in world stage. Clearly geo politics is going to be multipolar unlike cold war times.

It was fun to see a point of view that sees nothing but war effort in the world
Don’t forget when you look at US numbers, the US is not alone. Any war against China will be fought alongside Australia, without a doubt. So add another 28 blue water warships to those numbers. Plus the upcoming AUKUS nuclear submarines eventually. Then you can bet the UK would be involved, so add another 62 (which includes some seriously major warships). That evens up the numbers right there. That’s not to mention Japan which has a blue water navy of 150 warships.
The US is not at a numbers disadvantage. They have at least 3 committed allies with significant naval strength, capable of facing off against China, and nobody is slowing down. Australia wants to double the fleet size in the coming years. Japan is building 2 AEGIS destroyers and are in the middle of conversions for 4 light aircraft carriers to run F-35Bs. The UK is planning to double the number of frigates and destroyers by early 2030s. And the US is… the US. China may be very capable in production, but the US is not alone.
Good points.
They're located here to guard the east side of India and serves as deterrent to Bangladesh and US attempts for a base on the India east side such as St Martin island. For Diego Garcia, India have...
Usa already has bases in so many countries.

Where as USA and see see pi, both pose internal issues to india.

India has arguably the 3rd most powerful navy on the planet, and is the world's 3rd largest naval shipbuilder that would commission around 10 warships every year in the next 5-6 years.
Its no walkover.
Indian and China needs to continue to work together for BRICS and the developing world. China still has the DF17 and DF26 missiles
Indians are not going in south China sea to face DF 17 and DF 26. They are denying chinese presense in Indian ocean with operating close to their shore.
Ever heared about LRAShM?

9:10 that's a historical thing. Only the southern kingdoms focused on their navies
No, that's different and the current situation is different.
@varun2250 the current rulers are mostly northerners and their mindset is also of the historical northern kingdoms
@6:08 A frigate is NOT a coastal defense ship. There are frigates in some navies (in the German Bundesmarine for example) that are as big as destroyers.
He’s not talking about frigates. He’s talking about Corvettes.
A small error: The Animation shows a sea route to colombo via the palk straits.
Apart from the incorrect map not showing disputed territories, this was a great video on the Indian Ocean power steuggle that is ongoing.
Sounds like something like this, would put India above the UK or France in terms of power and influence, pretty definitively for the first time.
Still tho you can do a lot with subs even if they are a bit outclassed
First time in 300 years. India's been a cultural/economic superpower for far longer than the UK or France. Just fallen in hard times of late, waiting for a recovery.
@@Cav-z1y There are 5 active astute class submarines with roughly 8000 tones displacement. India has 4 Arihant class which are 6000-7000 tons. The S5 class which are planned and mentioned will have 14000 tons.

It sometimes becomes difficult to explain to foreigners just how diverse India truly is. Even the word diverse cannot fully capture the depth of our reality.
In India, the 1900s, 1950s, 2000s, and 2050s exist simultaneously-different eras coexisting in the same space, reflected in our traditions, technology, lifestyles, and mindsets.
Superb visuals and content as always! Thanks for another great video 🙏🏼
Thanks again!
It’s not enough for India ..India has been lobbying unsuccessfully with Indonesia for many years for 4 submarine pens at Celebes or Sabang …underground pens with lead super alloy cladding provided by Israel . Israel would also like to test its latest 7000 km Jericho MIRV SLBM in the South China Sea . But Indonesia has not budged. Indonesia will budge eventually , given civilsiational ties with India
Lets hope so but its now a BRICS member with strong ties to China so it still seems difficult

Very in depth analysis.
My observation is that India is necessary for China, in its every global and regional dreams, and the strategic contest between the two will actually, and surprisingly, decrease the cost of mutual respect and peace. India will be at helm, finally, in this contestation and benefitted.

Last time i was this early, Ottomans had still not noticed Vlad riding his cavalry in the camp
👏😂
😅
The two leaders fought a series of skirmishes, the most notable one being the conflict where Vlad attacked the Turkish camp in the night in an attempt to kill Mehmed. The assassination attempt failed and Mehmed marched to the Wallachian capital of Târgoviște, where he found a few men with cannons. After leaving the capital, Mehmed discovered 23,844 impaled Turks whom Vlad had killed during his invasion of Bulgaria. The number is mentioned by Vlad himself in a letter to Matthias Corvinus. The sultan and his troops then sailed to Brăila and burned it to the ground before retreating to Adrianople. Mehmed's forces returned home with many captured slaves, horses, and cattle.

India can't currently match china vessel to vessel, so sea denial is the only viable strategy. Malacca threat also deters any Himalayan misadventure by China. Glad more submarines are being added.
The ideas of continual presence and how China is trying to increase its global presence has been very well explained. India exporting its arms to the Philippines and Vietnam is a good move to gain its strategic presence closer to the South China Sea and also assure its South East Asian friends of India as a security partner.

Good presentation. While it's well known that India has had 'frosty' relations with China, India's construction of nuclear attack and ballistic subs, along with this new, highly capable submarine base, reveals those relations are more hostile than just 'frosty'.
Wonder what would have happened to the guy that left the hatch opened.
Nothing happened, cause it was fake news.

It is irrelevant that China " has more ships" than the U.S
1. Their " navy" has never been tested
2. All their ships are " made in china"😂
We have a saying about Chinese goods in India, "chale toh chaand tak nahi toh mushkil raat tak". Means, if it works - till the moon if it doesn't not even till tonight
Most american industrialized products are made in China. You probably typed this in a device made in China. And China not testing their navy is good actually, means they're not genocidal warhawks like the US
You mean their navy has been more peaceful despite the country making more than you, and you’re not testing it despite your spending elsewhere.
Continual presence by the Chinese Navy is actually pretty smart. The logistical hubs will also bring trade and money to the local region.
China usually just sucks resources.
