i did the opposite, the more i was pushed away and not taught how to be black and instead just laughed at, i got more into non-black things like anime and rock. now am a young adult and I still struggle being around both black or white folk, as I don't feel white-washed enough for the white folks am around and not hood or tough enough for the black folks.
