- I really hope there are some people out there who understand why I wanted to cover a hymn sung by a murderous priest in the 69 (nice) year old B&W american masterpiece of expressionist tinged noir that is The Night of the Hunter. Do you have an insufferable film friend? Show them this cover!
But seriously, The Night of the Hunter is a wildly ambitious film that blew me away when I got to see it for the first time in my local theater. Its on those lists of best american films for a reason and you should absolutely check it out if you have the chance to.

Have you ever heard of the story of Good and Evil? 👀
At least some of that speech is chopped up and sampled randomly throughout the song. I use parts of that speech to represent hate/evil and parts of Shelley Winters singing to represent love/good. Gobbled up it sounds like ghost choir glossolalia, but that is what is sampled underneath all the effects!

I played this while staring at the night sky; this is really the sorta music that makes you think about life n' shit. Just looking up at the stars and glossing over my life was honestly an experience I really needed, even if it was only for a few minutes. Thanks Amie.

Yes! It's the Shallow Water pedal and its one of my very favorite effects.

Their FM one (“Roger That”, maybe?) got me to explore more of the nasty feedback tones in my FM synth as they’re very similar, some of the sweet spots with just a little breakup are hauntingly similar. I’ll have to look into getting as close as I can to this one with modulating my other flanger/chorus options :3 thank you!
