    This actually helps me with ball selection. When a ball is beginning to work well it means it’s gotten to a surface where it matches with how I throw it. Great info!

    For me with my forest green quantum I got from my dad I love it at 2000 trucut , the classic black quantum at 4000 or polish, my magenta urethane hammer at 360 grit abralon, zero gravity at 3000 grit , faball enterprise blue hammer urethane at 500 grit , my Geico visa ball plastic ball at 180 grit abralon. I have a lot of balls that are polished that I just knock off the polish, and some solids I love with the polish . My hyroad x I love when I used the 1500/3000/p5000d by hand and I love how on old wood I can stand 25 throw to the left gutter and watch it crush the pocket .

    Video needs editing. Too long, not getting to the point.

    Great stuff to think about. Thank you. But as the ball starts to lane shine and hit around 4,000 grit I'm suprised your not squaring up more and playing straighter.

      The lane is changing as well.

    For most of us that don't have the extremely expensive surface scanners that you guys have, how can we find our sweet spot for our bowling balls.

    How do you tell if it's the ball shinning up that's causing the ball motion change, or if it's the oil pattern transitioning/breaking down?

    Ive been playing with the surface of my Phaze II since the oob 3000 doesnt work for me. 2000 isnt great either as I still have to put a lot of hand in the ball. 1000 is next. I use a spinner. Hope another "how to" video is in the pipeline.

      Your lanes must be really slick! Try a stronger ball like a Reality or Super Nova.

    • @BertS2X
      @BertS2X Год назад +1

      Yeah they do seem slick but I'm 70 something and not trying to work too hard. I'm looking at that Reality tho. Thanks

      Is it better to adjust surface by hand or by spinner?

    • @joeanderson9267
      @joeanderson9267 Год назад +1

      @@BertS2X I invested in a ball spinner, but the CTD pads are really easy to use. When I get a new ball, I will break out different pads and see which works for me. So far, my preferred grit is 4000. My ball speed doesn't handle 1000 or 2000. 3000 grit is basically the strongest I can go comfortably. 2000 I didn't do well.

      @joeanderson9267 I dont the look of hand sanding but when I use my spinner the ball "looks" better to me. Not sure it performs better.

    A balls' Sweet spot? Ok. Considering that the surface changes with each delivery, it'll take more than the
    right grit for success. Do your homework, practice to increase your skill level, build a versatile arsenal and pray. Good luck. 🎳
