Without this video I would probably be sitting in a corner of my backyard crying. Thank you so much for the close ups of the gate locks and the clips. The included instructions are the worst I have ever encountered. Again thanks for saving my sanity.
I am so glad you made this video. I just finished assembling this enclosure - also on my own and the same size as yours, and I thought it was just me thinking it was really quite difficult! I’m more used to very clear IKEA instructions - this needed a LOT of figuring out. Parts had different names to the paperwork and the same clips were spread through different boxes making it hard to find everything - not intuitive but worth it in the end!
This made me LOL because I’ve built two Cubes w/runs and 1 walk in run and every single time it takes twice as long because I do it wrong. I wind up having to build it twice each and every time. 😂
@SpectrumGeeks Wasn't too bad so far. Got the bottom level done with no issues between us..I do have issues with the packing, instructions, and online video with the old guy and pieces and part numbers that didn't match. Just got the custom chicken coop today and will get it in there once done gluing and staining, then will get the mid level and top level complete
I recently bought the balcony version for my cat. I'm usually pretty good with instructions but the installation book and online video were terrible in terms of which clips to use & what direction. Your video is very clear, esp the clips.
Thanks for this. Ive just purchased a 6ft by 15ft one for my cats. Im going to put it together myself simply due to the fact that the quotes i had for help were stupid money.
@@SpectrumGeeks I ended up employing a carpenter i have used previously, who also loves flatpack stuff. We only had one hiccup, when we put two roof panels on the sides and couldnt figure out why there was a huge gap at the top. Apart from that, it went really well. No arguing and i only swore once when i pinched my finger between the poles. He has some special abilities when it comes to their instructions though. Omlet woefully under estimate how long it takes though. My 6ft by 15ft run (taking into account attaching it to the tunnel systems and window box) took us 5 hours. A further 3 and we had completed around 70% of the outdoor cat tree. There is no way i could have done it alone - even with two of us it was a challenge to hold everything in place and get the clips on at times.
THANK YOU(!) for making and posting this video. I am currently, as I type this, in the process of constructing my Omlet chicken run (3x3x2). I also am frustrated at the sorely lacking printed instructions and insufficient "how to" videos provided by OMLET. I, ALSO, am struggling with putting this* together. Omlet could certainly do better with: 1) identifying the parts, especially the different clips ... including part identifying numbers being hard to find, and actually see (both on the package and ON THE PART). 2) the various confusing boxes & questionable reasoning for which parts come in which box 3) unreasonable time estimates/promise to complete construction 4) brief videos that do NOT demonstrate clearly "how to" 5) ridiculous written "directions" *I purchased the chicken coop and chicken run
Thanks so much for the thoughtful and honest video! I also bought the run on sale, ha, and knew this was going to test me even though it seems to be a simple and intuitive product. Partner and I are watching this together knowing it's going to be a mission. Appreciate it!! :) and good luck with your chooks. Ours is for a bunny but maybe chickens next ... if we can build this haha :)
Glad it was helpful! It is a good product, I was just frustrated by some of the simple lack of clarity in some areas of the instructions, but it may be just me :) Chooks are doing well, will do a follow up video soon, they are now all laying.
@@SpectrumGeeks I just spent the whole day building it. Your tips were really helpful, because I agree it's a well-made product but the instructions just aren't quite there. It took us 5-6 hours trying to move as fast as possible, haha, so you still helped saved us time. Exhausted, thanks!

My pleasure, its a painful build but good when its done :D

Absolutely agree with everything you wrote in your comment. Especially frustrating was the "different names to the paperwork" ... UGH!
Thanks very much . I was totally confused as had no instructions. Clarified where it all goes . Nice presenter voice too 😊
Glad it was helpful! ;)

Glad I am not alone :D
Oh lawd, about to undertake this with my Wife.. "relationship challenger" got me 😂 thanks for insights, will let ya know how it goes
Good luck :)

@@GetRocky Glad going well so far. Agree the instructions and videos are sub optimal at best.

Best of luck with it, just take your time.

Best of luck with the build, I have the coop also and thankfully this is easier to build than the run in my opinion.
We have the same one: Still have to build it 😂. Thanks for your video.
No problem, its great once built.

@@SpectrumGeeks It is NOT "just me" (you) .... it is ME TOO! So frustrated here on the west coast of the United States.
