    Deforeal has so much personality. It's going to be my first of that line and I couldn't be more excited!

      It definitely does. As your first figure from the deforeal line, I’m certain you won’t be disappointed! This looks like one of their best!

    Definitely want to pick up the Shonen Ric version. Like you said, the blue nicely contrasts with an otherwise monochromatic figure. Unfortunately, it's sold out already on the SR site. I'm hoping they restock or at least some make their way to the Japan Godzilla store.
    Would've also been cool to have a miniature of the Shinden fighter to go along with the figure.

    The atomic variation will almost certainly be G-store exclusive, which annoys me due to the limited time frame there is to get those. Compounding this is the aftermarket prices scalpers will sell them at. I don't know what the final dimensions will be, but its worth noting The Ride Godzilla was a very large 30cm, being 12 or 13 inches IIRC.

    Gahdamn you’d think they would take cues from the deforeal and sculpt the big one with a curved tail! Shelf space is a deal breaker and these sculpts with the tail just sticking straight out kills it for me personally

    • @totalapproximation9584
      @totalapproximation9584  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah I agree, it makes it hard to display, especially if you’re contending with other figures on your shelf - I think the worst offender I’ve seen personally is the X-Plus Gigantic Godzilla 1989. Personally I think now after collecting these for years, that they should offer alternate tail ends, so that way you at least have an alternative option for display. Space quickly runs out if you have tails all over the place. With that said, it still looks like a great figure, but I’ll definitely have to plan out the space to display it

    I picked up the Bandai Spirits Ichibansho Godzilla Minus One and I LOVE IT! It doesn't carry the same "AWE FACTOR" as the X-Plus does since it's only about 9 inches tall, but it's REALLY SWEET in it's own right! As long as the sculpt is accurate, I'm at least going to consider buying it.

    • @totalapproximation9584
      @totalapproximation9584  5 месяцев назад +1

      The Ichibansho is a stunning figure as well! I have one too, and like you said, while not as large as an X-Plus, I do think it is a perfect scale to have on display. I think that line of figures hits that sweet spot where it’s not overly large but also offers just about as much detail as these larger figures from other companies

    Any idea when and which websites pre-orders are going to be listed? They look more like gigantic series, than 30cm by the tail support holder stand.

    • @totalapproximation9584
      @totalapproximation9584  5 месяцев назад +3

      I anticipate preorders will go live anywhere from a week from now to maybe about a month or 2 more. Expect sooner than later.
      They’re confirmed 30cm series by X-Plus. Most direct way to order will be on the X-Plus Shonen Ric site. Other Japanese sites would be the Japanese Godzilla Store site, Hobby Lobby, AmiAmi.
      Other sites would be Awesome Collector, The U.S. Godzilla Store site, BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth, Sideshow Collectibles.

    Subscribed!............when will X-Plus throw up pre-orders? I still have not been able to locate a store with a PO. Picking up the standard version............. Recently picked up the Gigantic GMK & Gigantic 1999 they are amazing. Have my eyes on the Spiral Studios King Ghidorah w/ wings down & fanned out. Wasn't aware of these newer companies like Omega Beasts & W-Dragon Studio .....insane!

    • @totalapproximation9584
      @totalapproximation9584  5 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you! I anticipate preorders will be going up anytime within the next few weeks to a little over a month. If you’re looking for a standard version, you’ll have many options: The Japanese Godzillla Store site will have it listed, the Awesome Collector website will have it listed, BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth, and Sideshow Collectibles.
      Keep in mind any preorders from the sites I’ve just listed (except for the Japanese Godzilla site)will come at a later date as opposed to preordering through Japanese websites, since Japan gets these first before everyone else.
      Once these listings go up, I will do a follow up video, where I include preorder links in my video description in case you’re interested.
      As for those other companies you mentioned, they’ve been on the rise and giving X-Plus a run for their money. EZHOBI (Omega Beast is a line of figures in the gigantic scale from that company) has been putting out some amazing stuff and offers wonderful options for characters that X-Plus either has never made or hasn’t made in a long time. W-Dragon, as far as I know, has put out a couple of Godzillas so far, but I’m interested to see what they continue with in the future.
      Spiral Studios is perhaps the one I keep my eye closest on for my personal taste because they also have been delving into highly stylized figures that I love to collect

    Grabbing the standard for sure. This and the Cybot are breaking my Showa only policy lol. I gotta pass on the Deforeal tho. This year is already shaping up to be crazy.
    Also, I can see Minus One Goji at the very least retaining its value due to how revered the movie is. No chance of it being devalued like Monsterverse figures.

    • @totalapproximation9584
      @totalapproximation9584  5 месяцев назад +1

      It’s hard to resist that 30cm Minus One - and that Cybot was an instant preorder for me. Those two figures alone will keep me satisfied as a collector for this year haha. But I’m looking forward to what other companies will wind up doing with the Minus One design. Hopeful for an Odo Island/Godzillasaurus Minus One figure from X-Plus in the future too!

      @@totalapproximation9584 Honestly had no idea what the Cybot was. I saw other companies like Tentsuku with releases and thought it looked interesting. I have a feeling a bunch of people will sleep on it and regret it later like the Godzilla tower.
      I'm also down for that smaller Minusgoji. It'd pair nicely with a little parked fighter plane.

  • @Star-qc4br
    @Star-qc4br 5 месяцев назад +2

    The detail is FANTASTIC but, I'm not at all happy about needing a tail stand... If perhaps they sculpted it with a more "leaning forward" pose then it would feel right to me. As it is, he seems to look like his center of gravity is off and he should be falling back without his tail touching the ground (which explains the need for a physical stand under his tail).
    Just a personal choice, but I prefer the toes to be a bit spread. I have my SH Monsterarts version with the toes spread as much as possible even though I know that on-screen they're depicted as they are on this X-Plus statue here.
    Is that a seam in the tail? Never bought an X-Plus before, but I'd be hard-pressed to believe that it comes as one piece! Shipping would be the REAL monster in that case!
    Oh, I so hope they do a figure of his "Odo Island - natural/pre-mutated form"!!!

    • @totalapproximation9584
      @totalapproximation9584  5 месяцев назад +1

      Tail stands, while not preferable by many including myself, are a part of a majority of X-Plus releases since they’ve been making figures. Because of the way they’re sculpted, without the stands, the vinyl will sag over time. However, some people do wind up using their own custom tail stands, which are usually thinner clear rods that are not as easily visible.
      As for the tail, the majority of X-Plus’ figures have the tail as a separate piece that needs to be attached. Like you mentioned, if the figure was one big piece, it would not only be pricey to ship, but it can risk breakage on the smaller sections like the fine tips of dorsal plates.
      And yeah, same here - cannot wait for an Odo Island first form Minus One figure. Hopefully that design gets more attention from statue/toy makers in the future

    • @Star-qc4br
      @Star-qc4br 5 месяцев назад

      @@totalapproximation9584 I had no idea that so many X-Plus figs come with tail stands! Also didn't know about vinyl sagging over time. THANK YOU for the info! I may have to reconsider my previous aversion to buying this piece...

      @@Star-qc4br I don't have an issue tail stands but I wholey agree with your first paragraph about the stance. Still looks great but with the tail height he'd have looked even more amazing leaning forwards as if to be building up or immediately after his atomic breath scene.

    • @Star-qc4br
      @Star-qc4br 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Tetlee You're right! He just seems off-balance to me... Plus, I'd think that if he's leaning forward a bit it might make for a more "aggressive" look!
