What made Senju’s powerful was their potent chakra. A regular jutsu casted by a Senju is significantly more powerful than a regular shinobi’s. For example, Madara’s Majestic Destroyer fire technique took multiple water users to stop, but I think for a senju it would just take one or two of them.

Why is the lore kinda messed up when the show/manga/ data books tells us the first two clans came from Indra and ashura otsutsuki. So the first two clans were uchiha and senju, all other clans derived from that based on how chakra was dispersed. Hyuga is a branch directly from the descendants of hagaromo brother mixed w human. So it only makes sense uzumaki is on the senju side as an almost undiluted branch
We don't know a lot about the Senju's but the main reason we know they were among the strongest is because they were always in conflict with the Uchiha's. Generally speaking these clans had the most formidable ninjas not including the really special ones like Madara, Sasuke, Itachi etc. So even tho we don't have a lot of info about them we can easily tell they were strong since they matched the Uchiha's for a long time.
From the 3 mentioned Clans we can draw it down to why they were God Like 1. Enormous Amounts of Chakra Reserves. 2. Pseudo Immortal like physical builds ( Adv Self Healing or Regeneration) 3.Advanced Chakra Control and Strong visual Prowess.
Hashirama created a large part of the leaf village's forest lol. They barely touched on it. But he could sense or watch anything that entered the forest. Kinda like Nagato's rain jutsu used on the rain village. 3rd and 4th rock kages confirmed this when they met madara outside the village. They made a comment that they felt like they were being watched. They said the forest felt "weird and off". When they were leaving, it was faster leaving than entering the forest. This was probably madara working with Hashirama's forest jutsu. But it wasn't made clear Also, it's been mentioned that the forest was creepy.
I’m counting the Hatake’s as Senju. Tobirama Senju advocated for the Senju clan to blend into the hidden leaf by marrying normal people and taking their last names. He did this to strengthen the village as a whole, and to take away an unfair hierarchy in the village by the existence of a much stronger clan. Not technically confirmed but both White Fang (stronger than the Sanin) and Kakashi are wayyy too strong to be randoms. Naruto is unfortunately all about blood and lineage. The only missing piece is confirmation by Kishimoto, but it makes too much sense that white fang is tobiramas son, and kakashi is his grandson. Mannerisms, extreme adeptness to learning jutsu (kakashi was a prodigy before the sharingan), Tobirama’s plan, and OBVIOUSLY the hair. Credit to NChammer for the theory
Also Tobirama obv had insane chakra levels but kakashi’s can be argued to be low. White fang even used a chakra blade, something common with characters with standard or lower chakra levels. This can be explained by Tobirama nerfing white fang by having him with a normal person, and then white fang further nerfing the Hatake chakra levels by having kakashi with a normal person. The part of the Senju that stayed, was the ability to learn and execute jutsu at a much higher level. Thus proving Tobiramas theory. The hatakes are so strong because their ancestor was one of the leaders of the Senju. The other Senju clan members were were not as powerful, but still most likely produced some of the unaffiliated members of the konoha 13 somewhere down the line. Obv excluding members from established clans like the Aburame, Inuzuka, Nara, Akimichi, etc. prob not rock Lee but Sakura? We know nothing about her grandparents. And hardly anything about her parents except that they’re super normal. Exactly what Tobirama wanted…

It took every village minus konoha to bring down the uzumaki, and that's when they had no known characters, so no plot armour. They may not be as physically strong as the senju or have a doujutsu like the uchiha but have ways to counter both

Most of the Uzumakis had huge chakra reserves more even than Senjus. Hashirama was an exception. Uzumakis because of their sealing jutsus were extremely dangerous as they could even seal ninjutsu and dojutsu techniques performed by others. Because of their huge chakra reserves means they had insane stamina and fight for long durations. It took four other lands other land of fire with overwhelming force and numbers to defeat uzumakis.
I actually think the Uzumaki were the #1 strongest clan, because Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, Kenjutsu, and other techniques had limits in how far someone could take them. But when it came to Fuinjutsu (Sealing Techniques), the only limitation was the users imagination.

What made Senju’s powerful was their potent chakra. A regular jutsu casted by a Senju is significantly more powerful than a regular shinobi’s. For example, Madara’s Majestic Destroyer fire technique took multiple water users to stop, but I think for a senju it would just take one or two of them.

Why is the lore kinda messed up when the show/manga/ data books tells us the first two clans came from Indra and ashura otsutsuki. So the first two clans were uchiha and senju, all other clans derived from that based on how chakra was dispersed. Hyuga is a branch directly from the descendants of hagaromo brother mixed w human. So it only makes sense uzumaki is on the senju side as an almost undiluted branch

We don't know a lot about the Senju's but the main reason we know they were among the strongest is because they were always in conflict with the Uchiha's. Generally speaking these clans had the most formidable ninjas not including the really special ones like Madara, Sasuke, Itachi etc. So even tho we don't have a lot of info about them we can easily tell they were strong since they matched the Uchiha's for a long time.

Hashirama created a large part of the leaf village's forest lol. They barely touched on it. But he could sense or watch anything that entered the forest. Kinda like Nagato's rain jutsu used on the rain village. 3rd and 4th rock kages confirmed this when they met madara outside the village. They made a comment that they felt like they were being watched. They said the forest felt "weird and off". When they were leaving, it was faster leaving than entering the forest. This was probably madara working with Hashirama's forest jutsu. But it wasn't made clear Also, it's been mentioned that the forest was creepy.
I’m counting the Hatake’s as Senju. Tobirama Senju advocated for the Senju clan to blend into the hidden leaf by marrying normal people and taking their last names. He did this to strengthen the village as a whole, and to take away an unfair hierarchy in the village by the existence of a much stronger clan. Not technically confirmed but both White Fang (stronger than the Sanin) and Kakashi are wayyy too strong to be randoms. Naruto is unfortunately all about blood and lineage. The only missing piece is confirmation by Kishimoto, but it makes too much sense that white fang is tobiramas son, and kakashi is his grandson.

Also Tobirama obv had insane chakra levels but kakashi’s can be argued to be low. White fang even used a chakra blade, something common with characters with standard or lower chakra levels.
This can be explained by Tobirama nerfing white fang by having him with a normal person, and then white fang further nerfing the Hatake chakra levels by having kakashi with a normal person. The part of the Senju that stayed, was the ability to learn and execute jutsu at a much higher level. Thus proving Tobiramas theory. The hatakes are so strong because their ancestor was one of the leaders of the Senju. The other Senju clan members were were not as powerful, but still most likely produced some of the unaffiliated members of the konoha 13 somewhere down the line. Obv excluding members from established clans like the Aburame, Inuzuka, Nara, Akimichi, etc. prob not rock Lee but Sakura? We know nothing about her grandparents. And hardly anything about her parents except that they’re super normal. Exactly what Tobirama wanted…

Also, uzumaki have access to some of the strongest jutsu around, for example, the reaper death seal, which not many people know about, so with their huge chakra reserves, they can take down pretty much anyone with it, they have so much chakra that they can survive tailed beast extraction which no other person can, adamantite chains which can hold down tailed beasts and are indestructible, minds eye of the kagura and so on
It took every village minus konoha to bring down the uzumaki, and that's when they had no known characters, so no plot armour. They may not be as physically strong as the senju or have a doujutsu like the uchiha but have ways to counter both

Chakra Chains are not a Kekkei Genkai but a Normal Sealing Jutsu EVERYONE can learn as Hiruzen, Orochimaru, Obito, Sasuke and Madara showed. And they aren’t Indestructible. Kurama literally broke more than half of them before turning Kushina and Minato into Kebabs

Most of the Uzumakis had huge chakra reserves more even than Senjus. Hashirama was an exception. Uzumakis because of their sealing jutsus were extremely dangerous as they could even seal ninjutsu and dojutsu techniques performed by others. Because of their huge chakra reserves means they had insane stamina and fight for long durations. It took four other lands other land of fire with overwhelming force and numbers to defeat uzumakis.
I actually think the Uzumaki were the #1 strongest clan, because Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, Kenjutsu, and other techniques had limits in how far someone could take them. But when it came to Fuinjutsu (Sealing Techniques), the only limitation was the users imagination.
