- Hello friends! I wanted to draw the Sorbus plant for a long time but I was always leaving it for later because of client commissions... This month I had plenty of time to work on these botanical illustrations. I love making this kind of art! I don't have enough skills in watercolors so I will do more drawings with colored pencils. I also enjoy the feel of sketching with pencils, and their sound on the paper.

aa thank you. the leaf technique is very helpful, combining colored pencils, watercolor, and gouache. going to try drawing plants this weekend!

Start with a media that you are curious to experiment first, it can be any media. Start with small easy elements, it can be simple shapes, small flowers, an eye, a leaf, maybe an object...
Just have fun with it, experiment to see what it feels like drawing or painting with certain media. I hope it helps! 😄

Are these normal color pencils? Or are these watercolor pencils? 😮❤
They are normal colored pencils, soft types, and I used only 1 watercolor pencil (brownish-red) for deeper shading.
