  • The Tiles stitch is an adorable knitting pattern, great for beginners: It's super easy to do (a combination of knit + purl stitches, without increases nor decreases), it's reversible (identical on both sides), and it doesn't curl!

Really like this pattern… I have a 1lb skein about 1,000 yards, #4 yarn…. Do you think I can knit an afghan?? How many stitches shall I cast on?? Thanks for your reply in advance!!

Can you use any yarn &needle size? Want tto make a baby blanket.

I’d knit a swatch and see if it’s what I’m looking for. Yes, you can use the yarn and needles you like, but before starting a project, it’s better to be sure 😉

I'm new at knitting...is there extra stitches after the 3rd casting due to turning the yarn from knit to purl or purl to knit or am i doing something wrong ? Thk u

Hello! I understand what you mean. There shouldn’t be extra stitches (it also happened to me when I was starting). You can setup the slow motion function for the video, and watch it again, so you see what’s going on with the yarn every time there’s a change between knits and purls.
You can also try this one first: ruclips.net/video/ZEZEeuLQRd4/видео.htmlsi=G1jheXMwpA_rRBgA
and practice, until you get used to it 😉
      Happy knitting 🧶
