Hectic day for me too. This was incredibly shot. I just noticed the heightened frame rate here but I think it really adds to your style. So much care is put into every frame and the sound design as well. The technical quality is superb and sets you apart! The harmony with RWS, TVS, and perhaps even some ERS is also a joy. Loved to see Derek. It's going to be nice to have you back!
Wonderful to see this completed. It was a real pleasure to take part in, the script was a joy to work with and I'm very honoured to have been considered to work with you again. The filming comes as no surprise but it was truly incredible. Professional editing of scenes, interacting faces, music and sound effects were to a high standard. The set looks exceptional. You take filming/producing RWS stories to another level. I just simple watch in awe. Well done Mate!
Thank you, David! I'm so pleased to have you on the team; your work (as well as the verbal interjections here and there) made the process so much fun. I can't wait to work with you again soon! :)
An amazing story! Good to see you back with your model work! I just love how you capture the setup as a working railway, with all appropriate sound effects and visuals. I like how it focused on Henry but I do think that, watching it first time, I think the focus is a bit confused with all the other characters who contribute to the story. Less is more. There just seemed to be too many things going on at once. Either way, lovely story, really looking forward to the rest! Animations spot on again as usual too. :) Happy to help if ever you need anything.
Thank you! :) Regarding the focus, sadly that's what happens when trying to capture the feel of a busy, working railway...well, at least in the style that I do it lol :P I have a timed-out, typed-out timetable that I try to follow within each of my videos to maintain consistency, and that timetable yields a good amount of traffic. Thanks for the observation; I'll see how I can tidy that up next time :)
Is it...could it be...? HE'S ALIIIVE! Hahaha, well what can I say. The tracking was great, and some great shots scattered throughout. Also really liked the ending/credits score. :D
Pretty job well done I must say! I actually thought Diesel was gonna add on to Henry's ever-extending list of woes but looks like I can keep that for meself :D. It was certainly an interesting tale, in the end its more like poor Henry than everybody else who had to suffer in this episode (Derek, Bill, etc.), well, minis Jeffries, he complains so much I feel sorry for his own ears! XD
Strange thought, but Henry's train, two 6-wheelers & three bogie coaches, puts me in mind of the Granville-Paris Express from the film Hugo. At least Henry didn't take the comparison further by losing his brakes and crashing through the station.
He returns! With a blast and all It's great to see this layout being used for an episode at long last :) Great story all round, and the usage of so many characters was handled quite well without it feeling too over the top, just helps acknowledge how hectic and busy the railway is :) Also liked Henry's train with it being express coaches and (lower class I'm guessing) smaller coaches, just a visual thing that mixes things up :) 4:26 Heh, out of all of the edited faces Henry's there was the best, it's as if he's thinking, "Well I better not be chosen for it" haha
Heck yeah, I'm back! :D Thank you very much, Ron! I'm glad you understood the lower class coaches...I don't think everybody got that ;P Stay tuned, sir. If you're still interested in playing Barry, I'll have some lines for you coming in the near-ish future :)
I was thrilled to see this in my subscriptions box! I can't spot anything wrong here, it was just on key at all aspects. The choice of SFX was great (I like how you actually chose a Black 5 whistle for Henry's) and the music you composed for this episode was simply fantastic. Oh and I mustn't forget those smoke effects, you've handled them perfectly! As for the episode itself, it reminds me a lot of the classic TVS because of the awesome modeling work and a lot of the RWS because of the story mainly focusing on the railway and its atmosphere. That's just great to see you back! Kudos to you and the voice actors who also did a great job.
You're welcome! Also, I'm very fond of that new 60fps quality, looks great! Isn't it a bit hard to work with those types of files? I remember when I worked on my latest video with 50fps clips, they took a lot of time to render.
During editing I had to split the file up into two sections to prevent Vegas from crashing lol :P but once the editing was complete and I returned everything to one file, it took about four hours to render. To me that isn't too bad, judging that I've done some renders that have taken 12 hours :P
3 years of waiting and nearly getting me thinking that you gave up on it, and what do we get?! A MASTERPIECE that could rival with Awdry's work! Brilliant! Marvelous! Fantastic! Well done and Gute Arbeit from Germany! Keep up the excellent work
Wow, now that was amazing. It may have taken three years, but the wait was well worth it. I love this video, and I can't wait to see what Part 2 will be like.
It's always great to see a new video of yours in my subscription box. I love this! Very well written and some super cool camera angles and shots. The characterisation of characters feels very spot on with the Railway Series. Hope to see more soon! :)
Great to see the first part of this book up at last! I thought you'd forgotten it! The visuals and effects were absolutely stunning, especially the express consist.
You're back and better than ever! Great, solid story, great use of characters like Derek and Neville who probably wouldn't have had a chance to shine otherwise, and the sets (set? I thought it was one big layout) look grand as ever. I may have to go back and experience this a couple more times! I like so many others am thrilled you've returned, and I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us!
Thank you very much! It is one big layout, but occasionally I use smaller sets for different scenes (though I did not use any for this video). Hopefully I'm able to deliver in the future as I have today! :)
This is very good! I loved how real train sfx was used and how in some passenger trains had different kinds of coaches like Gordon's express coaches plus the special coaches
This is amazing, i can't find one single fault with this video. The sets are brilliant, the face animation is amazing, and your editing skills are superb! Great work, i could use good story writers like you for my series! :)
I got my first OO coach today, a crimson and cream LMS period 1. I saw this in my recommended and thought, "I wonder if I'll see another like it here," and it turns out Henry's train was full of them ;)
Beautiful! Absolutely enjoyed it. Your track layout looks very cool and the eye animations really show expressions. Good storyline, enjoyable and lovely music. I hope to see more of this soon because it's absolutely amazing.
Are you sure your not apart of the Awdry family? No joke! This is spectacular!! From using your own composed music to odd characters like Neville and Derek. The music that you used was very nicely composed and used in the right times. And That alternative Henry theme was very well made and tweaked for certain areas. Edward's theme was a nice touch when talking about the whole "china Clay thing". I couldn't due anything quite nearly as you could. It's Nice to see you've some older footage (Enterprising Engine) The script had a very good RWS feel, which I'm pretty sure is what you were going to. It had some TVS elements to it such as some of the humor (like season 19) As well as Bill and Ben arguing like the CGI series, I think you pulled it of perfectly. It was nice that, one of the most NEGLECTED characters like ever!, Jinty at least had like a 10 second appearance and was mentioned. Now the sets are very nicely made, the lighting is spot on, and the steam is perfection. Tidmouth station would've been nice to see it be based of the book pictures.Various sound affects were nice touch as well the announcer. The engines that don't speak feel like there part of the story by various eye movements as well. Your custom signal grantee was very nicely done, and the greenery was done just right and not to much. Not much to note on the voice actors,as I thought they were a good pick.I really can't find anything wrong with this, unless I just started nitpicking. I'd say a solid 10/10! This is superb!! and Welcome back! I miss watching your real content!! And that twist at the end!... O my goodness.... THAT IS HILARIOUS! :D Cheers!! Sincerely: Noah
A great episode, Christian! So nice to see Henry portrayed true to his original slightly vain yet amicable self. And it’s always a personal delight to see the criminally-underrated Derek being utilized. Are Emily’s coaches on the Tidmouth Flyer meant to serve as braking units or do they carry passengers as well?
PizzaZombie hey there, thank you! I love Henry's grumpy yet amiable personality! The configuration of the train is based loosely on GNR passenger trains 😊
+ThomasFan247 I've been desperately trying to locate anything related to British Railways. I can't find any crossing gates of signals or platforms. Any advice?

Oh right, this thing. ;) Hey, nice job with the models, music and comedic timing! Also I like that you decided to ditch Crazytalk; if I'm gonna be honest, it always looked a little creepy..
I drilled holes at certain spots in the baseboard before laying the track. I then was able to run tubes from a fog machine to those holes in the layout, allowing the steam to rise underneath the engines!
Wrong coaches Henery pull the old green an cream color white four wheel coaches in season 1 an 2 which would have been better an more accurate if you would have used those all wrong Henery does no pull Emily's coaches.
To me the old coaches don't seem to be express material...I also don't have models of them lol :P I decided to use Emily's coaches in the consist after seeing photos of GNR express trains comprised of 6-wheeled and bogey coaches :)

Thank you very much! Comments like this coming from you mean a whole lot. I'm very glad you enjoyed it; I'm glad to be back!
It's hilarious how much Daniel's voice for Jeffries sounds so similar to Mr Traverse from halfbakedhex8's 'Crossed Lines'.
I know right? I just can't get him out of my head and stop thinking about Traverse.
Day made. Will watch this tonight.
I can't wait to hear your thoughts! :D
your not dead to me anymore
Enterprisingengine93 and Well

Thank you very much! :D
Hurrah! ThomasFan247 hath made a full return! Really missed this series you've created, and I can't wait to see the next part! ;D

ThomasFan247 nice bro,make more
Simply marvellous! The music was spot on, the voices were brilliant, the writing was very like Wilbert's own! Loved the 60fps, well done!
Thank you! :D
+ThomasFan247 Forgot to mention how much I love the theme at the beginning:P
Why thanks! :)
Pretty job well done I must say! I actually thought Diesel was gonna add on to Henry's ever-extending list of woes but looks like I can keep that for meself :D. I like how at 11:58, the way Henry is positioned under the cloud it looks like he's the one who chuffed that cloud from his smokestack
A lovely story loved every second of this. Good to finally have you back.
Thank you! It's good to be back :)

Thank you very very much for your kind words! I aim to please in a similar fashion with the next episode :)
I like your layout have you made up a track plan of the stations anywhere?
Well done, i love this Story!.

Enjoyed this. Got some great sets on the go there. Music et al works nice too. Think I'll check more out. :)
sparkshot Thank you very much! Your series was a big inspiration to me through the years - it's an honor to share my work with you :)
Thanks, No worries. :)
Fantastic!!! I'd love to know where you get a few of your items and scenery! Great job!
Thank you! Most of the scenery materials are Woodland Scenics. If you have any specific inquiries I'd be glad to answer them :)
+ThomasFan247 I've been desperately trying to locate anything related to British Railways. I can't find any crossing gates of signals or platforms. Any advice?
Very nice episode u do man for the eye animation is amazing
This was brilliant! Great job :)
Thank you! :)
Nice job on this story arc so far.
DarthWill3 thank you!
Not a problem. If you need another voice actor, call me.
Very good episode!

Yes you did it again, great work i hope you will upload again soon
Thank you! I will :D
Those are some good trains u have there mate
I'll wait for Part 2 Patiently, btw will there be one?
That was lit. But can you do a layout tour pls!
Love your vids
fantastic
Thanks :)
can you do a layout tour?
I have to get to that at some point. I will...eventually lol :P
noice
Really great story, I loved it! But I have to ask, what do you use for the steam when the engines stop/or pass by?
ThomasFan16 thank you! It's a fog machine! 😁
ThomasFan247 Oh cool! Thank you!
:) well gordon, let me tell you about another incident where you blew very loud with a whistle problem.
THIS. IS. BRILLIANT!!! Really love you're layout and filming techniques. Two questions though:
1: What signals are these?
2: Your layout portraits the line from Tidmouth to...?
Thank you! The signals are by Ratio, and the layout technically is from Tidmouth to Wellsworth, but I modify primarily the Wellsworth portion to represent different locations :)
+ThomasFan247 Thanks! can need that tip with the signals! :-)
1:07 rebbeca's whistle
i want more of this PLZ
Far too long a wait! Another excellent story! How's the next one coming along?
Thank you! The script is being finished, and a short prologue actually is going to be filmed very shortly :)
Nice animation
Nice
Thanks :)
Why don't you use the original whistles ?
How’d you rig up the smoke on the layout?
Marvelous Story mate! Can't wait for the followup! I just have a question, is all your stories going to be NWR related, or will we see the other railways of Sodor receive some spotlight?
Thank you! I am hoping to feature some non-NWR stuff soon :)
What do you use for steam effects it looks so real
Can I please ask you, what do you use for making the model roads you have? It looks so real
Fine grade ballast held down with scenic cement 😊
Where do you have got the whistling sounds?
I can't believe I'll see the day
The day has arrived :D
YAY :D
Amazing! Well done Christian! This must me the greatest video you've did for so long. Are they any available spot for me. I would like to collab in one your spectacular videos! It would be an honored. I've been waiting so long to wait this. Keep up them good work!
~Cheers!
Thank you very much! Check your inbox in a short bit - I'll shoot you a message :)
can you say me how can you move the eyes by cartoon???witch program is that
It's all done in Sony Vegas...requires a lot of layers and a lot of patience 😜
Could you make a video about your layout
I've been saying that I'd do that for years. I'll get to it eventually! ;)
Oh right, this thing. ;)
Hey, nice job with the models, music and comedic timing! Also I like that you decided to ditch Crazytalk; if I'm gonna be honest, it always looked a little creepy..
Thank you, my friend! And after working with it awhile...I have to agree :P
does dcg12b do Henry?
Yes
The Santa Fe Guy yes but I wish he could focus on his own series !!!!
How did you make the steam come out from under the engines like that?
I drilled holes at certain spots in the baseboard before laying the track. I then was able to run tubes from a fog machine to those holes in the layout, allowing the steam to rise underneath the engines!
@ThomasFan247 cool. What sort of tube you used and how did you connect them to the fog machine?
@@Thomas-xb5eo I used fish tank tubing and just stuck one end in the nozzle of the machine!
I Do Know The Line I t Isn't Wrong From Whistles And Sneezes.

RULE 55
+ThomasFan247 I CAN DO IT
Is there gonna be a part 2
Yes there is! It's in the works now :)
***** awesome I can hardly wait
...But we just don't do it.
I have a feeling that my Nikolaas would work well in this..
If you're wondering who he is, he's A4 No. 60009.
Union of South Africa?
You have the express coaches facing the wrong way and why is Emily’s coaches on the train that’s just dumb like man think
I prefer trackmaster but great setting🇬🇧
Thanks! 😁
But we just don’t do it
Wrong coaches Henery pull the old green an cream color white four wheel coaches in season 1 an 2 which would have been better an more accurate if you would have used those all wrong Henery does no pull Emily's coaches.
To me the old coaches don't seem to be express material...I also don't have models of them lol :P I decided to use Emily's coaches in the consist after seeing photos of GNR express trains comprised of 6-wheeled and bogey coaches :)
+ThomasFan247 Also if you do a video with James maby you could find models of the old green coaches for that video.
