Yay, so glad I kept voting for this one! This definitely sounds like something I’d love, so I’ll be sure to check it out in the future! Wonderful review, girl! 💖🦄🥰
I am watching the latest episode on Netflix and really I am just mad at Kaya and her parents. I am glad that her dad who pretty much spoiled her stood up to her but I don't like how misogynistic he was about it. Really, are you going to tell your own daughter, "If you have time to be bothered about Miyo, then make yourself useful and practice homemaking!" That's what he basically said. And, Kaya just couldn't let it go because her mom just raised her to always be "better" than her own flesh and blood. They're sisters, even if they have different moms. They share blood through that misogynistic, abusive piece of crap, Shinichi. And, really, Kaya just toying with her fiance, Koji like that. She's really too much like both of her parents. I also don't like Koji's dad since he obviously doesn't care about Miyo, he only cares about the potential offspring he could get through Miyo being married to his eldest son just because of her mom's family's supposed supernatural abilities.
Ugh, their actions are beyond frustrating and angering!! I also agree that I don't like Koji's dad either. I was so angry with him in the manga because unlike Miyo's Dad, he was deceiving his own family. (Or at least Though I gWe FINALLY got our Netflix working again and need to catch up! Have you still been watching? I saw they are at the part where they're abusing Miyo and despite that the anime is different in that moment compared to the manga, it's not any less heartbreaking.
@@LauraAGrace yeah, they air new episodes on Wednesdays. I am at the part where Miyo was kidnapped and later rescued. Now, some elderly, bald guy plans to stop their marriage.
Also the first three manga volumes only cover volume one and a small part of volume 2 of the light novels, if you’re really eager to see where the story goes definitely check them out 👍
This is very helpful!! Thank you!! I just finished vol 1 of the manga!! But then I heard of the light novels and have been searching online to see if the manga & LN cover the same amount of content!!
Kaya had her punishment because she is seeing her half-sister having a reciprocal love of which she will never have. Miyo is married to an extraordinary man who loves her. Kaya will never have love. Now in NETFLIX!🥰🇧🇷
Miyo really is marred to an extraordinary man! I want the best and happiest of things for them! The first two episodes have been so good!! Can't wait for next week's episode!!
@@LauraAGrace I just watched the third episode. I think Miyo and Kaya's dad might have something to do with Kuno being spied on. I haven't read the manga.
@@LauraAGrace My Happy Marriage seems to come on with a new episode, every Wednesday. I also had to look some of this info on Kaya's mom online, I think the Wikia or MyAnimeList. She was Shinichi's mistress and I really do feel like she got saddled with being an automatic mom when her competition, Miyo's mom died. From what I heard, I think from Linfamy, Japanese culture at this time was pretty patriarchal, especially since Japan was no longer isolationists and adopting a lot from the West like farming practices and the fashion. I think the Honshu and Hokkaido Wolves' extinction can be attributed to American farming practices but that's another topic. I'm glad that Kaya gets told off by Miyo's love interest like how she can't just boss around the servants like she has been doing as seen in episode three when she orders a servant to tell her what her and her father-in-law were discussing. She finally has her dad all to herself but can't stand that her sister might be coming back into the picture because Miyo's mom comes from a more powerful family. Shinichi Saimori really should be one of the worst parents in anime since he was an unfaithful spouse, stuck his new wife with being an automatic mom to his current kid, chopped down his eldest daughter's mom's tree and so on. He just shows how men were expected to remarry just for the sake of carrying on the family clan's name and potentially having an heir to succeed them. And, Kaya's mom is still a piece of shit. I do feel bad for her because she got saddled with a kid she was forced into raising, not that she actually helped raised Miyo. Most of the servants did that for her and Shinichi and when Miyo found out that her stepmom was throwing out her mom's stuff, one of the servants stood up for Miyo and pleaded with the Saimori to not lock a little girl out in the shed.
as a guy n watched episode one, im happy she married to a good guy but god plz dont give her Lie in April treatment.... she suffer enough early of her life....
Hi! I was not really into manga or anime before even though my daughter has been recommending a few titles for me to read and watch. I actually came across 'My Happy Marriage' via a post which mentioned about its live action version that somehow appeared on my social media feed. Anyhow, I got curious and started digging for information about the story which lead me to discover that it actually started from a light novel, followed by a manga and then the anime and the live action version. The live version was released in Japan last March, which according to my daughter, is not the usual practice as most of the time, the anime would be out first before the live action version. I've watched both episodes 1 and 2 of the anime and I'm liking it so far. I'm also in the midst of reading the manga, so far only halfway through Volume 2 (Volume 3 is not yet available at bookstores here). Hope the light novel will soon be available here too.
I am really really hoping we get the live action internationally! I heard it did extremely well at the box office in Japan and seems very good! So so so glad you're liking the anime! It has been a very wonderful adaptation of the manga and so excited to see see more episodes! I also hope the light novels will get licensed in your country! A lot of friends I know who are reading the manga have also gotten the light novels and vice versa! Thanks so much for sharing!

I hate Miyo and Kaya's dad more than I do the stepmom. He's the one that basically emotionally abandoned his eldest daughter and blatantly played favorites.
Its interesting you mention this because since the anime has aired, I've definitely seen more people share how, yes, the stepmom is awful, but her father is much much worse because of what you mentioned. When he saw the abuse happening, he did nothing to stop it. I think because her stepmom's action were so obvious, she overshadowed the fact of who *I* should be even more angry at. He is by far one of the worst fathers I have ever read in manga!
@@LauraAGrace Yeah and generally, abuse from my personal experience tends to come from both parents and generally, family abuse tends to have a pecking order.
