  • The 9" Ford rear end broke...... This was a 28 pinion spline, for sure not the best for high horsepower but I thought it would work in a pinch..... But something broke bad.... What do you think caused this failure? This center section has been sitting for several years in a box, was it user error or just over powered it? Thanks for watching guys!

    On my 9” the oil hole goes on the top to catch oil from the ring gear. Just my observation.

    Those pro gears have a tiny bit of flex in the teeth so that they can handle more shock load so when you try to run street gears on these high horsepower cars they usually crack all the teeth and they don’t last more than a few passes at the most !

    colapsable spacer looks to be missing, improper bearing preload. i have had it happen

    • @timothycraft5448
      @timothycraft5448 4 месяца назад +1

      Most everyone uses solid spacers instead of a collapsible one. Just add or remove shims to get the correct preload.

      I had my grand daughter's 9 inch center section from her dirt track car handed to me to fix. Found the company that they purchased the assembled center section from didn't put the solid spacer in. Went together real nice after I got that part!
