- Join me today as I divulge my plant care strategy to grow a gorgeous and thriving Red Emerald Philodendron! This plant is also known as Philodendron Erubescens Red Emerald.
This plant is EASY to grow and take care of! I explain my strategy as follows:
1. Proper lighting. More lighting = more growth…however, this plant can survive a variety of lighting regiments!
2. Soil
3. Establish a consistent watering and fertilization regiment
4. Humidity
5. Prune & Propagate to encourage adventitious growth!
6. Stake it up for maximum growth benefit

Beautiful monster of a plant!!! I’m propagating my red emerald as well. Some in water and some in sphagnum moss and compared the two on a video. It was interesting to see how they responded to both.

My only complaint about this plant is that the leaves must be cleaned frequently because spider mites love to suck on their sap and scar the leaves 🙄 but it’s one of my favorites and love red em so much🪴💚 keep me posted on your plant adventures!
@@plantluxxe yes it is. 🫶🏽 Spider mites really is annoying. I try to use mixed oregano leaves, soap, and water when I see them forming. Planning to place oregano plant too beside them as it worked on my dragontail. I also try to spray on the top soil too and pole itself. I hate it when I see them on my micans. I'm glad you will make another stake up. Sure! Will keep you posted 🍀

I just viewed, liked and subscribed. Thanks for this content. I have a 2 week old cutting in spaghnum moss, I am wondering if it would do better in water. It is one big leaf and has a couple of long thin aerial roots that were present when I received cutting. It’s gets morning indirect sun. I guess I really would like to know when I should see some progress?

Yes you can stake it to a bamboo or wooden or Moss pole…it’ll grow larger leaves that way….I keep a humidifier running each day but if I miss a day or two or sometimes three, the plant seems fine!

Hi Taylor! Taylor is my daughter's name! Great name!!! I am very sorry for the late reply....but, thank you so much for watching my videos! YES, Rojos bloom....mine did!!! I have about 6 of them! They are gorgeous, but BEWARE of rust spots because they attacked mine and it was HORRIBLE. game changer and total devastation. I cried!!! You're supposed to cut the leaves if you see rust spots, but i literally could not pull myself to do that! I was totally emotional about it because it was such a beautiful plant, and I felt like I was cutting limbs off of it. I love my rojos.
