Our E-Bike trip to La Mata on Market Day and The Salt Lake of La Mata - (Torrevieja) Costa Blanca

- Mike and Yvonne take the 4 mile trip on their e-bikes to La Mata to see the popular Wednesday street market. Yvonne needs a new coat and Mike needs some warm pants as the nights draw in. They also visit The Sea View Internacional Restaurant on La Mata Beach for their very good value meal of the day (Menu del dia). On their way home they call at the Blue Salt Lake of La Mata (Laguna Salada La Mata) Some spectacular drone footage of the area is in there and great views of "Between the Lakes" can be seen.

Cheers Barry, it was a bit dull in the morning when we first got there for the first flight but after the market the sun came out and it became really nice and clear so another flight, looked much better.

The UK is cold at the moment but we are going to enjoy Christmas with our family hopefully, as long as we are still able to due to this new variant. It's been pointed out that OMICRON is an anagram of NO CRIMO. let's hope this is not the case.....lol

It's about 4 kilometres from home and takes us about 40 mins, we don't go very fast and the terrain around the lake at La Mata is not really suitable for our road bikes so although we've gone via the path by the lake once, and its a lot shorter we prefer to take the cycle track on the N332 road back. Thank you for the video. We have been walking in La Mata before and we took the bus A from Torrevieja. What would be the closest stop to the market on Wednesdays?
Hi Danyfrombelgium, The Market covers many streets and its right in the centre of La Mata, so easy to find and the bus will take you there. We are not sure where the bus stops are but the driver will help you get the correct stop. Best wishes, Mike and Yvonne.
I saw the leather vendors in El Rastro too but I don’t think they’re Spanish vendors. I saw similar goods in Paraguay. Does anyone know if these vendors/goods are from S.A., Spain, somewhere else?
Hi Susan, I don't know the answer to that but I know a some of the traders come from North Africa possibly Morocco but maybe someone on here may know more......
