Love your videos dude and they way you break it down. I'm new to this and currently in cos school. Would LOVE to see a further more in-depth video from you on just HOW to texturize the hair when cutting in order to gain the different results you're looking for. Appreciate you maan!
This. It's so hard to find a good stylist if you live in a small town. I can't count how many times I've ended up with the most boring looking crew cut just because the barber didn't even attempt to give me the cut I asked for.
Yep. I bought clippers since the level of cut my barber does I can do it myself anyway, might as well save money lol. I'm gonna try some shit though since im creative and dont mind looking stupid for a bit so long as I learn to do it better next time
after years of having shit barbers i found one sent from heaven, and then one day i went in and he wasn’t there, the shop fired him because he smoked weed and was often late, it’s been 5 years and i still haven’t found anyone since... rip.
It really goes in-depth and the guy knows his stuff, but MAN, I needed to watch it on 2x cause I was losing patience. Maybe if he changed the camera angle, zoom levels, and threw in some B-roll.
Dude if you live in the Midwest. You’re FKED when it comes to finding a good stylist. Like a comment here said before, all they know what to do is Crew cuts and under cuts
Wow I learned so much from this video. Thank you once again. I just orderd prestyler and dry water based clay with matte finish from STMNT and I think I'm ready :) Keep up the good work!
Andrew is the only guy who tells you to that if you don't like, don't mind clicking that thumbs down button. I always say, he is one of the original minds we've got. Thanks for the knowledge you share.
Hello sir, i have a very coarse dark asian head of hair, its so true that you said im not gonna get as much texture even after blowdrying and adding product and everything because its so dark and thick. So am i supposed to just accept it ? because i really dont want to dye my hair blonde.
18:08 "Hello, mr. barber, yes, I would like magical, unachievable hair with volume and moving and pieces in shards that stays up when I run my hand through it, thanks."
@@trickhairline1052 I gotta tell ya, even if your username weren't hair related and you were just a random youtube commenter, I'd still trust you over most any barber. I feel like I sit in the barber's chair and turn into a drooling moron who can't convey what they want. I can say texture 10 times and not get anything more than (thinning?) shears around tips. And barbers don't seem to advertise their work. They'll show you fancy websites of their luxurious hip barbershops (with coffee, beer, and/or booze), but not show you haircuts.
Thank you for making this video. I'm new to your channel. I like messy and texturized hair and for my hair always been texturized. I'm from California moved to Arizona can't find any good barbers here. They messed up my hair now it's all flat my hair can't stand anymore or messy looking. This video explains it right, bad haircuts gives not textures. I'm going to a barber school soon and I would want to know or learn texturizing hair cuts. If you can please make a video or a tutorial on how to texturized haircuts?? Thank you
Oh man as a male i wish i had soft face just to have this hairstyle 3:18 Too bad if i tried something like this i would look like a homeless guy found a racoon in dumpster decided to use it as a hair.
hi andrew, thanks for the vid. i am able to get a messy, textured style i love by blowdrying up & left, sprinkling with boost powder, then messing it up by scrunching it downward (sort of like, blow it up, then style it forward again). my problem is that very quickly the hair tends to revert back to sticking straight up (especially so if i go outside and its windy) and forgets the 'downward' messing up i did. it basically loses the waviness i created with my fingers/boost powder, and just looks kinda stupid sticking straight up & creating a huge forehead. i know this is a result of it reverting to the direction it was blown (up) - but if i blow to the side instead i lose that nice volume and texture. any tips?
Flat wrap first then when it’s all smooth use cold air to set it where you want it. After you get it sort of sculpted to your liking use a LIGHT hairspray misted from your full arm’s length away to avoid saturating the hair (if it gets wet, even with hairspray, it’ll fall down)
I have dry and course wavy hair but I have to wash every other day or every three days or my hair gets impossible to do because it gets curly but not in a good way. I could go four days and my hair wouldn’t be shiny and gross but it would be absolutely uncontrollable. I know this is pretty vague but any ideas?
@@jacobbenson9411 Just enough wet that you can blow dry it again. It's really hard, if not impossible, for m to give you solid advice through a screen, sorry! Or maybe try a dry shampoo on day three instead of even wetting it again
andrewdoeshair hahaha it’s okay. I have another unrelated question. I live in Utah and I’ve searched all over for barbers but I can’t find a good place to go. What do you do in that situation? Obviously right now it’s quarantine and I’ve considered cutting my own hair but I don’t want to ruin it. There are okay barbers here that charge way more than they’re worth or hairdressers that are cheap but the haircut is cheap too.
my hair is medium lenght and i want to make Medium Length Messy Hair and i will use sea salt spray and low dryer and i dont know what i use from these "pomade , clay or wax " please advise me.
Hello mr Andrew. THank you for video. I have a sidepart that go other side, but if I grow it back (I cut off) will I be able to control it when flatwrapping? I am course hair
I know you probably wont see this, but this is extremely good, you can do good on the algorithm with a little work. I understand the reasoning for the hair looking bad for the video, but when ever you are more attractive, it can keep retention. Also the cameras only in one place, there's little to no editing. Your retention is being killed by the lack of movement, a lot of people just wont pay attention.
Hey Andrew I have learn a lot and I agree with almost everything you say, Im a Barber stylist in Boston and I would like to meet you You are amazing @la_maquina_barber1995
I've never thought about hair this in depth. It's fascinating. Great video
best youtube channel about hair hands down.
Agree
would love to see more blow drying tutorials, especially for messy hair styles

Are there specific tutorial (blowdry, product) about this topic (messy look)?

Try wetting it slightly on day two or three and styling it again without shampooing it first. Then when it's actually gross dirty go for a shampoo.
andrewdoeshair I usually take a shower and get it completely wet but not shampoo, so when you say slightly wet probably less wet than that?
