OMG. That's the worst possible place for it to happen. It happened to me first while on holiday in the mountains (Banff, Canada). I had no idea what to do and had to use my iPhone for the rest of the time I was there.
Thank you so much! Today, I received my second-hand camera. When I turned it on to test it out, none of the buttons were working. I found this video and it worked!
I promise I'd come back and subscribe if your fix worked I made a mental note of it and lo and behold it worked on my Lumix Panasonic DMC- FX07. The menu buttons would not respond at all and it was stuck on set dates and of course the buttons would work so I couldn't set the date. So here I am making good on my promise I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing great videos in the future. Thanks a million you saved me from throwing out my Panasonic pocket cam.
Years before, whenever my camera is acting weird, removing the battery solves the issue. But yesterday in the field with my A6400. I removed the battery twice OMG!! because the first attempt did not work. Then I set it to use mechanical shutter. Then it worked through out the day. Whew... it almost got me there. Now, the issue is under observation. I know it will bite me back some day.. 😁
Recently same issued happened for my FX3. Your suggestion works but not for long. It keep coming back. So sent and repaired it for 160usd . Such a painful...
I tried this, but my battery was very low on a charge. It seemed to work, however. So right now, it is currently charging. I was going to look for a backup camera, but it is a fairly good cyber shot (DSC-HX20V) with 18.2 megapixels. I will be so happy if I do not have to purchase a new camera! Thank you. P.S. The problem I was having is that buttons and the dial were getting stuck and it was becoming more and more frustrating to use--to the point--I didn't want to use it any longer.
@@adesfavs I did that technique and I could turn the dials easier, however . . . it seems to take the pictures slowly. It lags. I like to just take a picture when I click on the button, not have to wait a couple of seconds before it finally takes the picture. I reset the factory settings . . . still takes a bit too long to take the pictures. I've got a dog, and animals move around a lot, so if you want to take a picture of something cute, by the time the photo finally clicks, it may be too late to get the shot you want. Any tips? P.S. I've got an older sony cyber shot that has 14 mega pixals and I'm going to try your technique on it too. There is definite improvement on the DSC-HX20V camera, however. I'd say it has greatly improved, but still has a few issues. (Mainly the length of time it takes a picture)
This did not fix my problem, but I was using an after-market battery. As soon as I put an official battery in, it solved it. The other battery worked again after charging
Went through your fixes a few times but unfortunately didn't work for me. The green focus light bottom left stays permanently on. All buttons sadly still unresponsive. Will need to send to Sony for repair.
I have this camera. It doesn't have this problem but an A7SII did have. Your fix didn't work on that unfortunately. The trouble with Sony is that their cameras are technically good but very poor build quality. The A6000 was quite cheap so at least some excuse there but for this to happen on their expensive full frames is ridiculous.
Simple solution except it didn't work on my camera - not your fault. Something is obviously stuck and preventing normal functions. Think I'll just chuck it in the bin!!
I had this happen during a wedding. Luckily I had a second camera on me to keep taking photos. Thank you for the fix

Thank you so much! Now I fixed it..thanks to your video... I thought my camera can't be fixed.
Thank you so much! Had this happen on multiple occasions now. Your fix worked perfectly.
I'm glad it helped. It's a real pain when it happens
Thank you so much! Today, I received my second-hand camera. When I turned it on to test it out, none of the buttons were working. I found this video and it worked!
Thank you! I'm traveling and only have this sony with me, I though I was screwed until I found this solution! Bless you!
Thank you. Very useful your video. I had the same with my a6400 and your fix worked well. The camera came back to life.
I'm glad it helped. It's quite strange that Sony won't address this issue

Wow! I’m amazed it worked on another brand. Thank you for subscribing. Much appreciated 🙏
Oh boy god bless you, I thought I lost my camera , now I fixed it thanks to your video
I'm glad it worked for you. I wish Sony would fix the issue. It apparently still shows up in some later models

Can you guide me to fix the error on the sony a6000 camera while shooting and jumping between modes?
That fix requires removal of top plate. You have to be VERY gentle.
Is not working on my Sonya7ii
Technically there are more buttons you didn't press - the scroll wheel is also a 'd-pad', so you missed up, down, left, right there.
🤣🤣
I'm not happy with Sony for ignoring known problems like this.
Didn’t really work for me🙌🏾
Simple solution except it didn't work on my camera - not your fault. Something is obviously stuck and preventing normal functions. Think I'll just chuck it in the bin!!
I have another video with a workaround. That may work for you. Try before chucking in bin :)
Pass I here before in the bin lmaoo
😂😂😂 as if 😅😂
no it should work and it makes sense, this is the same as holding down the power button for 10 seconds to drain the capacitors on some electronics
I subscribe to you😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤🎉

Long winded explaination but thanks
