- Hello there friends! With exciting news we learned that Disney Dreamlight valley hit their Wishlist goal and has officially unlocked multiplayer visits! Does this mean we can visit during early access? Maybe not so much. I'll be going over what info I found and sharing my thoughts.

I imagine an animal crossing like visit. Maybe fishing and gardening together? Competitive or co-op mini games? Not expecting anything until release though.

I hope they just implement what ACNH does, you can mail other people items and/or you can drop the items in your valley or their valley to pick up

Pretty sure they'll add in Multiplayer towards the tail end of early access close to official launch, in order to get bug tests, network compatibility, etc.

And I hope they implement a season system that follows your time zone season like if it's fall where you are it's fall in the game and maybe goofy and the rest could wear stuff for that season. I know it sounds like animal crossing but I think it would be fun 🥰!!
I would love seasons in the game as long as they DO NOT lock certain seeds/wild crops behind them! I don't want to have to wait until fall to be able to buy and grow pumpkins, for example. I know it may not be "realistic", but there's nothing realistic about this game, haha.

multiplaying won't bother me any. I'm glad that this is mostly focused on single player. I never did enjoy needing help to advance in a game that I spent money on. I can't wait for this to come out on Tuesday.
Yeah i love games where it’s kind of single player at your own pace, but you can share your creations and experiences with others on occasion. It’s part of the reason I love Animal Crossing New Horizons so much
It’s not helping you advance in a game you’ve spent money on. It’s literally playing together with another person. It’s doing things cooperatively. What you do alone can be done with another person/people.
whats the use of decorating and making your village beautiful if nobody can visit it ?
It might be like animal crossing multiplayer where your friends can harvest crops clean up vines and shop in your store if you got something they are looking for
I hope that it is a similar experience to the one Animal Crossing has. Which is cool. I want to see what others islands look like and I would love for there to be spaces set aside where you and your guest can do fun things together.

Someone refresh my memory, but if I recall correctly, wasn’t traveling in ACNH released after their official release of the game as well? I’m trying to remember, but it’s insane how much more this game has in beta phase than animal crossing has had with 2 years of release.
It looks promising. I'm glad they're not focusing on multiplayer yet. That requires a lot more work. Improving the base game will be good for now.
I would love it if it was like really multiplayer. I just don’t want to farm by myself all the time. I don’t like farm sims but this game looks way to good to pass up. It’s Disney!😭

I’m sooo glad multiplayer is coming later later, it won’t be like animal crossing were you can go to other places and then fell bi jealous cause there’s is better😅😅😅….loved new horizon but wasn’t fully animal crossing on my opinion due to that and few other things

If this game implements 4 player split screen like in Farm Togheter, will be the perfect family game.
I can't wait to start playing. I'm not one of the lucky reviewers who got early EARLY access. It seems like it's going to be the new, Disney-fied version of Animal Crossing New horizons and I'm all for it.

@@Kuriie I still log into my Animal Crossing island every now and then, so if that counts probably about 2 years now. I got my Switch just as the pandemic hit, and NH was one of the 2 games I started out with. I'm SO looking forward to Dreamlight Valley now as I'm recovering from the big sick and really wanted something new to kill time with.
that like dragon quest builders 2 where you have to unlock multiplayer to and play the hole storyline to get to play with others some to most games are slowly going that way just hopefully works out for others and hopefully your towns look great to
This is a great comparison to think how it may work. I also LOVE DQB2 so glad to find more dragon quest lovers out there

Where do you check the goal thing? I tried looking at their website but it's not there.
Something the game is REALLY missing is the daily stuff- what makes it exciting to log in everyday.
Eg, day 1 Marlon introduces you to the town to start missions
Day 2- Wall-E appears at your door and asks for help on his garden
Day 3- Marlon wants to open a museum and asks you to bring items
Day 4- etc etc etc
We just kinda get endless fetch quests as we progress through the game and once they're finished, there's nothing left to do except to make money to buy things to decorate the town but once that's finished, then what ?
It would be nice to log in every day and have actual daily quests for that specific day
For me, it's what makes Stardew exciting, I don't even see the point in having a mailbox, ive never even gotten any mail before, even when we got that game patch a few days ago, it would have been nice to receive something in the mail about it
+1~ I don't mind a little daily grind to give me some purpose outside of everything else. Sometimes I get frustrated or overwhelmed and I'd like something else to do for a bit until I've calmed down. I know we have the "duties" that earn us dreamlight, but they require no interaction with anyone in the world, so it doesn't feel like I'm doing anything important.
+ I think the mailbox was a cute way for them to send us announcements and important information that has items attached in-game. I'm not sure if it was planned for anything else?
@@aelilea I get where you're coming from, hun, but I havent had anything in the mail from the devs except the first batch when I downloaded the game.
I thought for sure after that first update/patch they might have mailed us some gifts or something but nahhhhh lol
And I know they don't *have* to do any of that, but it would have been nice and given the mailbox a bit more purpose
And I know what you mean about just grinding ((i've covered an entire patch of the meadow in the Gold Opal Path so i spent like 12 hours today just mining for golden ore, lol)) but I feel like the same thing is gonna happen here that happened with animal crossing NH, after I finished my island, there wasn't really anything else to do, and the updates for new furniture just felt shallow
Hoping this Game's updates will be a bit more fulfilling xxx that's just my hopes & fears x
@@shadowm2k7 Well hopefully this game updates a bit more than NH. It appears this game will be adding a bunch more characters which will at least keep it interesting when they're added. I just hope they are consistent with events in this game.
Every time I interact with my characters I feel like I’m constantly being told “good bye” more than any other phrase. Am I the only one experiencing this ?

Unfortunately, you most likely over estimated/spoke. Drm and the like would eat into and beyond the likely targets they set. Not to mention the focus, scope and overall design is geared towards the solo player. They don’t even have to deliver on a loose promise, they already won.
I am just excited we reached our goal, I joined in on the challenges and crossed my fingers... Yay!!! lol

They need to make a completely seperate explorable area so you and friends can build on or interacted with games ect
I think they should add mini games. Nothing crazy, just something optional that could keep things fresh when you want to chill in game.

the game needs some type of evil enemies like in kingdom hearts for a great coop multiplayer experience, right now it feels like a disneyskinned animal crossing both games dont have any enemy and after making all perfect it becomes boring for most players with repeating text and without a real challenge like in animal crossing endgame= moving object from A to B.... as example, let scar release some hyennas as event for an invasion so you can fight them and save disney valley or fight other type of shadow minions who let the others lose the memory or any other type of enemy, disney storys always need a villain.

I'm not familiar with multiplayer. From what I've read/seen others can visit your valley. Can they take your resources?

You won't be trading items lol. This would be a huge hole in ways for them to make money. Also creating the ability for someone to put a real price on an item. You could look them up, add them, pay them for the item etc. I don't understand why you would want this feature. You have access to all items in game except the items in the star path. There's no point in trading.
How can you do that with pictures?
I hope we can trade with each other at least.
Generally multi-player is something you plan and develop for from the beginning. It is not something to slap on at the end of a Kickstarter.
My biggest concern tho is this is a GAMELOFT game and they have a bit of a rep for being rather greedy when it comes to monetization.
Combine with Disney and that concern doubles.
I'll likely wait and see how the reviews look after the official release.
This is inherently incorrect. Most multiplayer life sims and RPGs do not begin in multiplayer at all. Most begin with single player. In fact, Stardew Valley did not have coop/multiplayer planned at all. It came as a surprise after release. Multiplayer is only planned in games under the MMORPG genre. Life sims do not plan multiplayer ahead of time, they plan the single player core aspect and then add onto that with coop/multi functionality later.
So GENERALLY, multiplayer is never planned early for games like this, if at all. It is very lucky that they have said multiplayer will be an option, although it is not true multiplayer.

Do you have to follow or wishlist the game to get some of these perks or will they just be available to everyone?
The perks will be for everyone when it releases in 2023 :)

If they can't farm with me what's the point of even adding multiplayer.... A selfie is not worth implementing a multiplayer aspect. Animal crossing visits were boring and honestly a waste of time with how long loading times and interruptions were.
The full game is out with no multiplayer it also looks like a 10 year old game
